Redragon K664-RGB-PRO: Software installation, RGB and macro configuration, and troubleshooting in Windows 11/10

Last Updated on 18.09.2026 by DriverNew

Redragon K664-RGB-PRO uses separate Redragon Software to configure supported keyboard functions, including RGB backlighting, macros, and remapping available keys. A separate Redragon system driver is not required for normal text input: Windows uses standard HID drivers.

Important: this guide is specifically for Redragon K664-RGB-PRO. Do not apply Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, battery, Fn combinations, or firmware information from K664WBP-RGB-PRO just because both models use the same Software. Identical software does not prove identical hardware configuration.

Part 1. Installing and connecting Redragon K664-RGB-PRO

Is a separate driver required?

For normal operation of K664-RGB-PRO in Windows 11 and Windows 10, a separate Redragon system driver does not need to be installed. After the keyboard is connected, Windows should detect it as a standard HID device.

It is important to distinguish between three components:

Component What it is used for
Windows HID driver Provides basic keyboard operation and text input. Windows installs it automatically.
Redragon Software Additional software for configuring supported functions, RGB, macros, and remapping available keys.
Firmware Internal firmware of the keyboard controller. Updating it is not required for a normal Software installation.

If the keyboard already types text, this means the system HID functionality is working. If Redragon Software does not detect the device, reinstalling the Windows HID driver should not be the first step.

Which Software to use

K664-RGB-PRO uses the official K664 family Software.

Previously, the software was distributed under the name:

Redragon_K664-RGB-PRO_K664WBP-RGB-PRO_Setup_v2.0_20231117.exe

The same installer may now be downloaded under the shorter name:

Redragon_K664-Software.exe

Testing showed that these two files are completely identical byte-for-byte.

Size 4,658,322 bytes
SHA-256 077a79be1b5182f86af21bef482bd84805b7ce3e263d13060420d272f5e76513
Package version 2.0
Date in the original file name 2023-11-17
Installer type Inno Setup, 32-bit Windows application

Download Software for Redragon K664 from the official website

If you already have the older Redragon_K664-RGB-PRO_K664WBP-RGB-PRO_Setup_v2.0_20231117.exe file, there is no need to replace it just because the shorter Redragon_K664-Software.exe name has appeared: the verified files have identical contents.

The installer does not have a digital signature

The verified K664 installer does not contain an embedded Authenticode signature. Therefore, Windows may treat the downloaded EXE more cautiously than a signed application.

Do not disable Microsoft Defender, SmartScreen, or other security features just to run an unsigned file. Use an installer obtained from the official Redragon page and check the file name before running it.

Initial keyboard check

Before installing Software, it is recommended to make sure the keyboard itself works normally without additional software.

  1. Connect K664-RGB-PRO to the computer in the normal way.
  2. Wait for Windows to detect the device automatically.
  3. Open Notepad or another text field.
  4. Check the letter keys, Space, Enter, Backspace, and several other keys.
  5. If normal input works, proceed with installing Redragon Software.

If a wired USB connection is available for your keyboard, it is preferable to use it for the initial Software installation and diagnostics and connect the keyboard directly to the computer.

Checking in Windows 11

If the keyboard does not respond even before Software is installed:

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards section.
  4. Check the Human Interface Devices section.
  5. Check whether an unknown device or a device with a warning icon appears after connection.

You can also open:

Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices

The Redragon name may not be displayed explicitly. Windows may show the HID keyboard under a standard system name.

Checking in Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards and Human Interface Devices sections.

If the keyboard types normally, there is no need to look for an additional Redragon system driver.

Installing Redragon Software

  1. Connect K664-RGB-PRO to the computer.
  2. Close Redragon Software for other keyboards if such an application is running.
  3. Run Redragon_K664-Software.exe or the identical older installer with the full model names.
  4. If Windows displays a User Account Control prompt, make sure the correct file is being launched.
  5. Complete the installation by following the installer’s instructions.
  6. After installation is complete, open Redragon Software.
  7. Check whether the connected keyboard is detected.

The exact names of individual buttons and sections may depend on the software version. If a name is unknown, use the purpose of the section as a guide — lighting, key, macro, or profile configuration.

If Software for another Redragon keyboard was previously installed

Software for another keyboard may install normally in Windows but not support K664-RGB-PRO.

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  2. Find the previously installed Redragon application.
  3. Uninstall Software intended for another model.
  4. Restart Windows.
  5. Connect K664-RGB-PRO.
  6. Check normal text input.
  7. Install the correct K664 Software.

Windows 10

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
  2. Uninstall the unsuitable Redragon Software.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Check keyboard operation.
  5. Install K664 Software again.

There is usually no need to remove standard HID keyboards from Device Manager just to reinstall Redragon Software.

Part 2. RGB and macro configuration and troubleshooting

Configuring RGB through Redragon Software

K664 Software provides software-based backlight settings for the supported keyboard.

  1. Connect K664-RGB-PRO and start Redragon Software.
  2. Make sure the software has detected the keyboard.
  3. Open the lighting settings section.
  4. Select an available effect or mode.
  5. Configure the settings offered by the software.
  6. Apply the changes.
  7. Check the result on the keyboard.

Use only the functions that the software displays for the connected K664-RGB-PRO. Do not rely on the Software interface of another model if the set of elements differs.

Why there is no table of Fn combinations in this article

For K664-RGB-PRO, a separate official manual with an exact list of hardware Fn combinations could not be confirmed.

Key combinations from K664WBP-RGB-PRO have intentionally not been transferred to this guide. Shared Software is not sufficient evidence that the hardware commands of the two variants are completely identical.

Therefore, to change RGB, it is recommended to use K664 Software and only confirmed combinations listed in the instructions specifically for your keyboard.

Creating and using macros

K664 Software is also designed to work with macros. The general configuration sequence is as follows:

  1. Open the macro section in Redragon Software.
  2. Create a new sequence.
  3. Start recording.
  4. Enter the required key sequence.
  5. Stop recording.
  6. If the corresponding settings are available, check the delays between keystrokes.
  7. Save the macro.
  8. Assign it to a key that the software allows you to program.
  9. Apply the settings and check the result.

Not all keys necessarily support software remapping. If a specific key is unavailable for selection in the software, do not install Software for another model in an attempt to remove this limitation.

The macro runs too fast or too slowly

If Software allows you to edit delays between actions, check the intervals within the macro.

A delay that is too short may prevent a game or application from processing the sequence in time. A delay that is too long may cause noticeable pauses between actions.

  1. Open the saved macro.
  2. Check the sequence of keystrokes.
  3. Check the available intervals between actions.
  4. Change them gradually.
  5. Save the macro again and test it.

Key remapping does not work

If the assigned function does not work:

  1. Make sure Software detects the keyboard.
  2. Check that the change was applied or saved.
  3. Make sure the correct key was changed.
  4. Try a simple assignment instead of a complex macro.
  5. Restart Software and test again.

If normal input from this key works but the software assignment does not, the problem is most likely related to the Software configuration rather than the Windows system HID driver.

Software does not detect K664-RGB-PRO

If the keyboard types normally but the software does not detect the device, troubleshoot the problem separately from the HID driver.

  1. Close Redragon Software.
  2. Check normal text input.
  3. Make sure K664 Software specifically is installed.
  4. If a wired USB connection is available, use it for diagnostics.
  5. Connect the keyboard directly to another USB port on the computer.
  6. Wait for Windows to detect the device.
  7. Start Software again.
If the keyboard works normally as an input device but only Redragon Software does not detect it, this does not prove that the Windows system driver is faulty.

Software opens, but RGB changes are not applied

  1. Make sure the software has detected the device.
  2. Select another simple lighting effect.
  3. Apply the setting.
  4. Close the software completely.
  5. Start it again.
  6. If possible, test the keyboard through another USB port.
  7. If necessary, reinstall K664 Software.

If the keyboard backlight works independently of the software but does not respond only to software changes, the problem is related to the interaction between Software and the device, not necessarily to the LEDs themselves.

After installing Software, the keyboard types the wrong characters

Redragon Software and the Windows language layout are different things. If a key responds but an unexpected character is entered, first check the operating system language settings.

Windows 11

Open:

Settings → Time & language → Language & region

Check the installed languages and keyboard layouts.

Windows 10

Open:

Settings → Time & language → Language

Check the selected keyboard layout.

If Windows receives the key press but outputs a different character, reinstalling Redragon Software usually should not be the first troubleshooting method.

One key does not work

If the problem affects only one key, first determine whether it is related to the hardware or only to the software configuration.

Symptom What to check
The key enters a different character Windows layout
A normal key press works, but the macro does not run Assignment in Redragon Software
The key works, but its RGB does not change through the software Selected RGB mode and whether the settings were applied
The key press is missed even when Software is not running A possible hardware problem with the key or switch
The key does not respond on several computers A hardware fault in the keyboard

How to completely reinstall Software in Windows 11

  1. Close Redragon Software.
  2. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  3. Find the Redragon application.
  4. Uninstall it.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Check normal K664-RGB-PRO operation without Software.
  7. Install the official K664 Software again.
  8. Start the software and check whether the keyboard is detected.

How to completely reinstall Software in Windows 10

  1. Close Redragon Software.
  2. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
  3. Uninstall the Redragon application.
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Check normal text input.
  6. Install K664 Software again.

There is no need to remove the standard HID Keyboard Device entries from Device Manager during a normal software reinstallation.

The keyboard is not detected by Windows at all

If K664-RGB-PRO does not work even without Redragon Software, first troubleshoot the basic connection.

  1. Disconnect the keyboard from the computer.
  2. Connect it again.
  3. If USB is being used, try another port directly on the computer.
  4. Do not use a USB hub for the initial diagnostics.
  5. If the design allows the detachable USB cable to be replaced, try another compatible cable.
  6. Test the keyboard on another computer.
  7. Check Device Manager to see whether a new HID or USB device appears when the keyboard is connected.

If the keyboard is not detected on several computers, reinstalling Redragon Software usually does not solve the problem because the additional software does not replace the basic HID connection.

Do not install firmware from another K664

Shared Software for K664-RGB-PRO and K664WBP-RGB-PRO does not mean identical firmware. Do not install firmware from another variant just to fix a device detection error or obtain a missing function.

In particular, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, battery settings, or the corresponding hardware key combinations should not be considered confirmed for K664-RGB-PRO just because K664WBP-RGB-PRO uses the same installation package.

Which functions were intentionally not transferred from K664WBP-RGB-PRO

Until a separate confirmed K664-RGB-PRO manual becomes available, this guide does not use:

  • Bluetooth pairing using Fn + 1 / Fn + 2 / Fn + 3;
  • 2.4 GHz pairing using Fn + 4;
  • battery and wireless power-saving information;
  • RGB Fn combinations from K664WBP-RGB-PRO;
  • Factory Reset from another variant;
  • Windows/macOS switching from another K664 version;
  • Hot-Swap instructions not confirmed for K664-RGB-PRO.

For these functions, use only the manual intended specifically for the particular K664-RGB-PRO hardware version.
