Redragon K725SP-RGB-PRO: installation, software, screen, Bluetooth, and configuration in Windows 11/10

Last Updated on 18.09.2026 by DriverNew

Redragon K725SP-RGB-PRO is a compact 96% mechanical keyboard with a numeric keypad, Smart OLED display, multifunction knob, and three connection modes: USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth. A separate Redragon system driver does not need to be installed for normal operation: Windows automatically uses standard HID drivers.

Redragon Software is required for additional features: remapping supported keys, macros, advanced RGB configuration, and working with the screen.

Do not confuse K725SP-RGB-PRO with K725GBP, K725LBY, and other K725 versions. Some variants use the same Software v2.0, but this does not mean that all hardware Fn combinations and firmware are interchangeable.

Part 1. Installing and connecting Redragon K725SP-RGB-PRO

Is a separate driver required?

No. A special Redragon system driver is not required for basic K725SP operation.

  1. Connect the keyboard to the computer via USB-C.
  2. Wait a few seconds.
  3. Windows will automatically detect the HID device.
  4. Open any text editor.
  5. Check letters, numbers, Space, Enter, and Backspace.

If the keyboard types normally, the standard HID driver is already installed and working.

There is no need to look for a universal “K725SP driver” or use third-party automatic driver installation programs.

Which software to install

For K725SP-RGB-PRO, the official website provides:

Redragon_K725SP-RGB-PRO_Setup_v2.0_20250221_V1.exe

Another official page uses the name:

Redragon_K725SP-RGB-PRO_Software.exe

Testing showed that these files are completely identical: their size, SHA-256 hash, and byte-for-byte contents match.

File name What it is
Redragon_K725SP-RGB-PRO_Setup_v2.0_20250221_V1.exe Official v2.0 package with the date 21.02.2025 in the file name.
Redragon_K725SP-RGB-PRO_Software.exe The same installer under a shorter name.

There is no need to install both files.

This Software is also byte-for-byte identical to the tested packages for some other K725 variants. For K725SP, it is still recommended to use the download specifically from the K725SP entry in the official catalog.

Where to download the software

Use the official Redragon software catalog:

Redragon Software

Find K725SP-RGB-PRO Gaming Keyboard.

A separate download page is also available:

Redragon K725SP-RGB-PRO Gaming Keyboard

Windows displays a warning when starting the EXE

The tested v2.0 installer does not contain a standard embedded Authenticode signature. Therefore, Windows or security software may display an additional warning.

Do not disable Microsoft Defender, SmartScreen, or your antivirus just to install the software.

Before starting:

  • make sure the file was downloaded from the official Redragon website;
  • check the K725SP-RGB-PRO designation;
  • do not run a similar EXE from an unknown website;
  • do not use firmware from another K725 variant.

Connection modes

Mode Use Redragon Software
USB-C Wired operation, charging, and diagnostics. Yes
2.4 GHz Wireless operation through the included USB receiver. Yes
Bluetooth Wireless operation without a USB receiver. No — use USB or 2.4 GHz for configuration.

Connecting via USB-C

  1. Switch the keyboard to wired mode.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable.
  3. Connect the other end directly to the computer.
  4. Wait for Windows to detect the device.
  5. Check text input.

A wired connection is recommended for the initial software installation, screen configuration, and diagnostics.

Connecting via 2.4 GHz

  1. Switch the keyboard to 2.4 GHz mode.
  2. Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Check text input.

If the keyboard and the included receiver are already paired, the connection should be established automatically.

For K725SP, do not automatically use the re-pairing combination from other K725 models. Shared Software v2.0 does not prove that the hardware key combinations are the same. If the normal 2.4 GHz connection is not restored, first use the troubleshooting steps below.

If 2.4 GHz does not work

  1. Fully charge the keyboard.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect the included USB receiver.
  3. Connect it directly to the computer.
  4. Do not use a USB hub for testing.
  5. Try another USB port.
  6. Turn 2.4 GHz mode off and on again.
  7. Check the keyboard via USB-C.
  8. Check Bluetooth.

If USB-C and Bluetooth work normally but 2.4 GHz does not, the problem is unlikely to be caused by a missing Windows HID driver.

Part 2. Configuring Redragon K725SP-RGB-PRO

What the built-in screen is used for

K725SP is equipped with a Smart OLED display. It is used to display supported keyboard information and configure some functions.

The screen can display:

  • date and time;
  • connection mode;
  • battery status;
  • Windows/Mac mode;
  • animation or custom graphics;
  • RGB settings.

Multifunction knob

The knob next to the screen is used to control the volume and navigate the on-screen menu.

  1. Rotate the knob to change the available setting.
  2. Press the knob to enter the menu.
  3. Rotate it to select an item.
  4. Press it to confirm.

The set of available functions depends on the selected section of the on-screen menu.

How to upload your own GIF

Use the official Redragon Software to upload custom graphics. It is more reliable to perform the transfer via USB-C.

  1. Connect K725SP to the computer via USB-C.
  2. Start Redragon Software.
  3. Open the screen, GIF, or Animation section.
  4. Select a supported graphics file.
  5. Start transferring it to the keyboard.
  6. Do not disconnect the USB cable during the operation.
  7. Wait for the process to finish.
  8. Check the result on the display.

The section or button name may differ depending on the version of the software interface.

The GIF does not upload or the screen does not update

  1. Switch to USB-C.
  2. Close and restart Redragon Software.
  3. Make sure the software detects K725SP.
  4. Use a simple test GIF for checking.
  5. Do not disconnect the keyboard during the transfer.
  6. After completion, check the selected display mode on the screen itself.

The display shows the wrong time

  1. Check the Windows date and time.
  2. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  3. Start Redragon Software.
  4. Open the time or screen settings section.
  5. Perform the available time synchronization.
  6. Check the display again.

RGB configuration

K725SP supports 16 built-in RGB modes and advanced configuration through the proprietary software.

In Software, you can change supported:

  • lighting effects;
  • colors;
  • brightness;
  • effect speed;
  • individual settings for supported keys;
  • decorative side lighting.
Do not use the RGB combinations from K725GBP just because both models use the same Software. In the available K725SP documentation, the designations of some Fn keys are ambiguous. For hardware configuration, refer to the markings on your K725SP and its manual.

RGB does not change through the software

  1. Make sure Redragon Software detects the keyboard.
  2. If Bluetooth is being used, switch to USB or 2.4 GHz.
  3. Change one setting.
  4. Apply the change.
  5. Check the result.
  6. Close and reopen Software.

Configuring macros

  1. Connect K725SP via USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  2. Start Redragon Software.
  3. Open the macro editor.
  4. Create a short test macro.
  5. Record several simple keystrokes.
  6. If necessary, configure the available delays.
  7. Assign the macro to a supported key.
  8. Apply the change.
  9. Check the result in a safe application.

A key performs the wrong command after configuration

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  2. Start Redragon Software.
  3. Check recently changed assignments.
  4. Delete the problematic macro.
  5. Restore the key’s default action.
  6. Apply the change.
  7. Check the keyboard again.

The keyboard turns off the backlight by itself

In wireless modes, automatic RGB shutdown after a period of inactivity may be part of normal power-saving behavior rather than a malfunction.

If the keyboard continues to respond to keys or wakes quickly after a key is pressed, first check the power-saving mode and battery level.

The keyboard discharges quickly

K725SP has a 4000 mAh battery, but actual battery life depends on RGB, OLED display brightness, and usage mode.

  1. Fully charge the keyboard.
  2. Temporarily reduce RGB brightness.
  3. Turn off the decorative side lighting.
  4. Reduce screen activity or brightness if such a setting is available.
  5. Compare battery life with and without RGB.
  6. Try another known-good USB-C cable.

If a new keyboard discharges very quickly even with minimal backlighting, do not disassemble the battery yourself — first check whether warranty service is available.

One key misses keystrokes or types twice

K725SP supports hot-swap for compatible 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. Therefore, after ruling out software-related causes, you can check the switch itself.

First:

  1. Check the assignment of the problematic key in Software.
  2. Check the associated macro.
  3. Close Redragon Software.
  4. Test the keyboard on another computer.
  5. If the problem remains limited to one physical key, proceed to checking the switch.

How to check a switch using hot-swap

  1. Turn off the keyboard.
  2. Disconnect the USB-C cable.
  3. Remove the keycap from the problematic key.
  4. Carefully remove the switch using a suitable tool.
  5. Inspect its contacts.
  6. Make sure the contacts are not bent.
  7. Reinstall the switch and test the key.
  8. If the problem remains, swap it with a known-good compatible switch.

If the problem moves with the switch, the switch is probably faulty.

If the problem remains in the same position with another known-good switch, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket or the circuit board.

Do not use excessive force when removing the switch. Before installation, make sure the switch contacts are straight and that it is compatible with the keyboard’s 3/5-pin hot-swap socket.

Settings are not saved

If RGB, macros, or screen settings change after a restart:

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  2. Change only one setting.
  3. Apply the change.
  4. Close the software.
  5. Check the result.
  6. Turn the keyboard off and on again.
  7. Check the setting again.

Not all software functions are necessarily saved in internal memory in the same way.

How to check K725SP in Windows 11

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards section.
  4. Check Human Interface Devices.
  5. If you have Bluetooth problems, also check the Bluetooth section.

K725SP may appear under a standard system HID keyboard name. The absence of the word Redragon in the name does not by itself indicate an error.

How to check K725SP in Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards and Human Interface Devices sections.
  4. If using Bluetooth, also check the Bluetooth section.

A yellow icon appeared in Device Manager

If you have been able to determine exactly that the entry with the error belongs to K725SP:

  1. Disconnect the keyboard.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Find the related entry with the warning icon.
  4. Right-click it.
  5. Select Uninstall device.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Connect K725SP via USB-C.
  8. Wait for the HID device to be automatically reinstalled.
Do not remove random HID, USB, or Bluetooth devices. One keyboard may create several system entries for the main keys, multimedia controls, and additional functions.

Do not install firmware from another K725

K725SP, K725GBP, and K725LBY may use the same Redragon Software v2.0 package. This does not mean their firmware is also interchangeable.

If you have a problem with the screen, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, or RGB, first check:

  • the official K725SP Software;
  • operation via USB-C;
  • another USB port;
  • the included 2.4 GHz receiver;
  • the Bluetooth profile;
  • operation on another computer.
Software and firmware are different components. Incorrect software can usually be uninstalled, while incompatible firmware can disrupt the operation of the keyboard, screen, or wireless modes.

If the keyboard does not work at all

  1. Switch K725SP to wired mode.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable.
  3. Try another USB port.
  4. Try another known-good data-capable cable.
  5. Allow the battery to charge.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Test the keyboard on another PC.

If the keyboard works via USB-C, troubleshoot Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz separately.

If K725SP is not detected even via USB-C on another computer, installing different Redragon Software usually does not resolve this type of hardware problem.

Can K725SP be used without Redragon Software?

Yes. Redragon Software is not required for normal text input.

K725SP can work via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth using standard operating system features. Redragon Software v2.0 is mainly required for macros, remapping supported keys, advanced RGB configuration, and additional OLED display functions.
