Redragon K746-RGB-PRO WILDSLASH LCD PRO: driver, software, LCD, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz in Windows 11/10

Last Updated on 18.09.2026 by DriverNew

Redragon K746-RGB-PRO / K746WB-RGB-PRO WILDSLASH LCD PRO is a wireless mechanical keyboard with an LCD screen, rotary knob, and three connection modes: USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth. A separate Redragon system driver is not required for normal typing: Windows automatically uses standard HID drivers.

Redragon Software is required for additional functions: remapping supported keys, macros, RGB configuration, and uploading custom graphics to the LCD screen.

Model designation: the global software catalog uses the name K746-RGB-PRO, while the manual and some regional materials use K746WB-RGB-PRO WILDSLASH LCD PRO. This keyboard uses the K746-RGB-PRO package described below.

Which software to install

Two installer names can be found on the official Redragon pages:

Redragon_K746-RGB-PRO_Setup_v2.0_20250703_1_V1.exe

and:

Redragon_K746-RGB-PRO_Software.exe

Testing showed that these files are completely identical. They have the same size, SHA-256 hash, and byte-for-byte contents.

This means you do not need to install both versions. They are the same official software package distributed under two different names.

File name What it is
Redragon_K746-RGB-PRO_Setup_v2.0_20250703_1_V1.exe Official v2.0 package with the date 03.07.2025 in the file name.
Redragon_K746-RGB-PRO_Software.exe The same installer under a shorter name.

Where to download the software

Use the official Redragon software catalog:

Redragon Software

Find K746 — Redragon K746-RGB-PRO Gaming Keyboard in the list.

The software is also available on a separate Redragonshop download page:

Redragon K746-RGB-PRO Gaming Keyboard

Do not install Software or firmware for another Redragon keyboard just because it has a similar case, LCD screen, or WILDSLASH designation. Use the K746-RGB-PRO package specifically for configuration.

Windows displays a warning when the installer starts

The tested K746-RGB-PRO installer does not contain a standard embedded Authenticode signature. Therefore, Windows or security software may display an additional warning.

Do not disable Microsoft Defender, SmartScreen, or your antivirus just to install the software.

Before starting:

  1. make sure the file was downloaded from the official Redragon website;
  2. check the K746-RGB-PRO designation;
  3. do not use an EXE file from an unknown website;
  4. do not run firmware intended for another model.

Does the K746 need a separate driver?

No. A special Redragon system driver is not required for normal operation.

  1. Connect the keyboard to the computer.
  2. Wait a few seconds.
  3. Windows will automatically detect the HID device.
  4. Open any text editor.
  5. Check letters, numbers, Space, Enter, and Backspace.

If the keyboard types normally, the standard HID driver is already installed.

There is no need to look for a separate universal “K746 driver” or use third-party automatic driver installation programs.

The Windows driver and Redragon Software are different components

The standard Windows HID driver provides normal keyboard operation.

Redragon Software is used for additional features:

  • macros;
  • remapping supported keys;
  • RGB configuration;
  • working with profiles;
  • LCD configuration;
  • uploading custom GIFs and other supported graphics.

If you do not need additional settings, you can use the keyboard without installing the software.

Connection modes

Mode What it is used for Redragon Software
USB-C Wired operation, charging, and diagnostics. Yes
2.4 GHz Wireless operation through the included USB receiver. Yes
Bluetooth Wireless operation without a USB receiver. No — switch to USB or 2.4 GHz for configuration.

Connecting via USB-C

  1. Move the 2.4G/OFF/BT switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard.
  3. Connect the other end directly to the computer.

Wired mode is recommended for the initial Software installation, uploading a custom GIF, and diagnosing unclear problems.

Connecting via 2.4 GHz

  1. Move the switch to 2.4G.
  2. Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
  3. The light bar should flash yellow while the connection is being established.
  4. Wait a few seconds.
  5. Check that the keyboard works.

If the keyboard and the included receiver are already paired, the connection is established automatically.

Re-pairing 2.4 GHz

If the USB receiver is detected by the computer but the keyboard does not connect to it, perform pairing again.

Step Action
1 Disconnect the USB receiver from the computer.
2 Move the switch to 2.4G.
3 Hold Fn + 4 for about 3 seconds.
4 The light bar will start flashing yellow rapidly.
5 Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
6 After successful pairing, the light bar will return to the current lighting mode.

If 2.4 GHz still does not work

  1. Fully charge the keyboard.
  2. Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
  3. Do not use a USB hub for diagnostics.
  4. Try another USB port.
  5. Repeat pairing using Fn + 4.

MAC/WIN switch

K746 has a separate MAC/WIN switch. If system or multimedia keys start performing the wrong actions:

  1. Check the physical MAC/WIN switch.
  2. Check the Layout setting in the LCD menu.
  3. Select Windows mode.
  4. Check the keys again.
An incorrect MAC/WIN mode cannot be fixed by reinstalling the HID driver. Check the keyboard mode first.

Factory Reset

Key combination Action
Fn + Esc, hold for about 3 seconds Restore the keyboard to factory settings.

Factory Reset is useful to try if the keyboard starts behaving unexpectedly after changing macros, key assignments, or RGB settings.

The keyboard turns off the backlight by itself

In wireless modes, this is normal power-saving behavior.

Idle period What happens
About 3 minutes The backlight turns off to save power.
About 30 minutes The keyboard enters a deeper power-saving mode.

Press any key to wake it.

Low battery indication and charging

When the battery level is low, the light bar slowly flashes red.

The light bar flashes while charging. After the battery is fully charged, it returns to the current lighting effect.

For charging, the manufacturer specifies a power supply of 5 V / 2 A.

The manual also provides a hardware method for displaying the battery level using the backlighting of the 1–0 number row, but the designation of the second key in the combination is displayed incorrectly in the text version of the document. Therefore, using an unconfirmed key combination is not recommended.

The keyboard discharges quickly

  1. Fully charge the battery.
  2. Temporarily turn off RGB.
  3. Reduce the screen and backlight brightness.
  4. Use only one wireless mode.
  5. Compare battery life with and without RGB.
  6. Try another known-good USB-C cable.
  7. Try another USB port for charging.

If a new keyboard discharges quickly even with minimal backlighting, do not disassemble the battery yourself — first check whether warranty service is available.

The keyboard does not reconnect after sleep

  1. Press any key.
  2. If there is no response, switch the connection mode and then switch it back.
  3. Check the battery charge.
  4. For 2.4 GHz, reconnect the USB receiver.
  5. If necessary, perform pairing again using Fn+4.
  6. For Bluetooth, select the required BT1/BT2/BT3 profile.
  7. Check operation via USB-C.

Use Redragon Software to create software macros.

  1. Connect K746 via USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  2. Start the software.
  3. Open the macro editor.
  4. Create a short test macro.
  5. Record several keystrokes.
  6. If necessary, configure the available delays.
  7. Assign the macro to a supported key.
  8. Apply the changes.
  9. Check the result in a safe application.

A key performs the wrong command after configuration

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  2. Start Redragon Software.
  3. Check recently changed assignments.
  4. Delete the problematic macro.
  5. Restore the key’s default action.
  6. Apply the changes.
  7. Check the keyboard again.
  8. If necessary, hold Fn+Esc for about 3 seconds.

One key misses keystrokes or types twice

K746 is a mechanical hot-swap keyboard. Therefore, after ruling out a software-related cause, you can check the switch itself.

First:

  1. Check the key assignment in Software.
  2. Check the associated macro.
  3. Perform a Factory Reset.
  4. Close the software and test the key again.
  5. Test the keyboard on another computer.

If the problem remains limited to one physical key, you can check the switch.

How to check a switch using hot-swap

  1. Turn off the keyboard.
  2. Disconnect the USB cable.
  3. Remove the keycap from the problematic key.
  4. Carefully remove the switch using a suitable tool.
  5. Inspect its contacts.
  6. Swap the switch with a known-good compatible switch.
  7. Turn on the keyboard.
  8. Test both positions.

If the problem moves with the switch, the switch is likely faulty.

If the same position continues to miss or duplicate keystrokes with a known-good switch, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket or the circuit board.

Do not use excessive force when removing the switch. Before installation, make sure the switch contacts are straight and that the switch is compatible with the keyboard.

RGB or other settings are not saved

  1. Change only one setting.
  2. Apply the change.
  3. Close the software.
  4. Check the result.
  5. Turn the keyboard off and on again.
  6. Check the setting again.

Not all software effects are necessarily saved in the device’s internal memory in the same way.

How to check K746 in Windows 11

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards section.
  4. Check Human Interface Devices.
  5. If you have a Bluetooth problem, also check the Bluetooth section.

K746 may appear under a standard HID keyboard name. The absence of the word Redragon in the device name does not by itself indicate a driver error.

How to check K746 in Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards and Human Interface Devices sections.
  4. If you use Bluetooth, also check the Bluetooth section.

A yellow icon appeared in Device Manager

If you have determined that the device with the error is specifically related to K746:

  1. Disconnect the keyboard.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Find the related entry with the warning icon.
  4. Right-click it.
  5. Select Uninstall device.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Connect K746 via USB-C.
  8. Wait for Windows to automatically detect the device again.
Do not remove random HID, USB, or Bluetooth devices. One keyboard may create several system entries for the main keys, multimedia controls, and additional functions.

Do not install firmware for another model

If the LCD, Software, Bluetooth, or 2.4 GHz does not work, do not install firmware intended for another Redragon keyboard.

First check:

  • the official K746-RGB-PRO Software;
  • wired mode;
  • another USB port;
  • 2.4 GHz pairing using Fn+4;
  • the Bluetooth profile;
  • Factory Reset;
  • operation on another computer.
Software and firmware are different components. Incorrect software can usually be uninstalled, while incompatible firmware can disrupt the operation of the keyboard itself, the LCD, or the wireless modes.

If the keyboard does not work at all

Start troubleshooting with a wired connection.

  1. Move the switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable.
  3. Try another USB port.
  4. Try another known-good data-capable cable.
  5. Allow the battery to charge.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Test K746 on another PC.

If the keyboard works via USB, troubleshoot Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz separately.

If the device is not detected even via USB on another computer, installing a different version of Redragon Software usually does not resolve this type of hardware problem.

Can K746-RGB-PRO be used without Redragon Software?

Yes. Redragon Software is not required for normal text input.

K746 can operate via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth using standard operating system features. Many hardware functions are also available without Software: RGB, the light bar, LCD menu, volume knob, Bluetooth profiles, Windows key lock, and Factory Reset.

Redragon Software is useful when you need macros, remapping of supported keys, advanced RGB configuration, and uploading custom graphics to the LCD.
