Redragon K734BWG-RGB-PRO: driver, software, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz in Windows 11/10

Redragon K734BWG-RGB-PRO is a wireless mechanical TKL keyboard with three connection methods: USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth. A separate Redragon system driver is not required for normal operation: Windows automatically uses standard HID drivers.

The proprietary Redragon software is required for additional features, including remapping supported keys, macros, profiles, and advanced RGB lighting configuration.

Important: K734BWG-RGB-PRO and K734SP-RGB-PRO use the same v2.0 software package, but this does not mean that all hardware key combinations and firmware functions are necessarily identical on both models. Use instructions for Fn combinations only when they are confirmed specifically for your keyboard version.

Which software to install

For the K734BWG-RGB-PRO, the official Redragon website provides:

The file name specifies:

  • version — v2.0;
  • date — 20.02.2025.

This is keyboard configuration software, not a required Windows system driver.

K734BWG and K734SP use the same software

Testing showed that the official K734BWG-RGB-PRO and K734SP-RGB-PRO installers have completely identical binary contents.

The size and checksum of the verified files are identical. Therefore, there is no need to install both versions one after another.

For the K734BWG, it is still recommended to download the file from the K734BWG page specifically. Identical software does not mean that the firmware or all hardware functions of the models are completely identical.

Do not install software for the K734WCG, another K734, or a visually similar keyboard just because the model designations are similar.

Windows displays a warning when launching the EXE

The verified K734BWG-RGB-PRO installer does not contain a standard embedded Authenticode signature, so Windows or security software may display an additional warning.

Do not disable Microsoft Defender, SmartScreen, or antivirus software just to install the program.

Before launching it:

  1. make sure the file was downloaded from the official Redragon website;
  2. check the K734BWG-RGB-PRO designation;
  3. do not run an installer from an unknown website;
  4. do not replace the official package with random software for another model.

Is a separate Windows driver required?

No. A special Redragon system driver is not required for normal text input.

  1. Connect the keyboard to the computer.
  2. Wait a few seconds.
  3. Windows will automatically detect the HID device.
  4. Open any text editor.
  5. Test letters, numbers, Enter, Backspace, and Space.

If the keyboard types normally, the standard HID driver is already installed and working.

There is no need to search for a separate universal K734BWG driver or use third-party automatic driver update utilities.

The Windows driver and Redragon Software are different components

The standard HID driver provides normal keyboard operation.

Redragon Software is used for additional functions:

  • remapping supported keys;
  • creating macros;
  • working with profiles;
  • configuring RGB;
  • changing available brightness and effect speed settings;
  • using supported software-based lighting modes.

If you do not need additional settings, the proprietary software does not have to be installed.

Connecting via USB-C

  1. Select wired mode on the keyboard.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable directly to the computer.
  4. Wait for Windows to detect the device.
  5. Test text input.

A wired connection is recommended for the initial software installation and when troubleshooting problems.

Connecting via 2.4 GHz

  1. Switch the keyboard to 2.4 GHz mode.
  2. Connect the included USB receiver.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Test text input.

If the keyboard and receiver are already paired, the connection should be established automatically.

If 2.4 GHz does not work

If Windows responds when the USB receiver is connected but the keyboard does not type:

  1. Check the battery charge.
  2. Make sure 2.4 GHz mode is selected.
  3. Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
  4. Do not use a USB hub for testing.
  5. Try another USB port.
  6. Turn the keyboard off and back on.
  7. Test operation via USB-C.
  8. Test Bluetooth.

If USB-C and Bluetooth work but 2.4 GHz does not, the problem does not appear to be caused by a missing standard Windows HID driver.

Do not use K734SP re-pairing combinations solely by analogy. A shared software package does not confirm that all hardware Fn combinations on the K734BWG are identical.

Connecting via Bluetooth

The K734BWG-RGB-PRO supports Bluetooth. For initial pairing:

  1. Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode.
  2. Enable pairing mode using the method provided for your hardware revision.
  3. Open Bluetooth settings on the computer.
  4. Start adding a new device.
  5. Select the keyboard from the list of detected devices.
  6. Complete pairing and test text input.

Bluetooth does not connect

  1. Check the keyboard battery charge.
  2. Make sure Bluetooth mode is selected.
  3. Remove the old K734BWG pairing in Windows.
  4. Enable pairing on the keyboard again.
  5. Search for a new device.
  6. If the problem persists, test the keyboard via USB-C.

Bluetooth works, but Redragon Software does not detect the keyboard

This does not necessarily indicate a malfunction.

Redragon configuration software is designed to work with a wired connection or through 2.4 GHz.

  1. Close Redragon Software.
  2. Switch the keyboard to USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  3. Wait for Windows to detect the device.
  4. Test normal input.
  5. Launch the software again.

Do not remove a working Bluetooth driver just because Redragon Software does not detect the keyboard in Bluetooth mode.

Installing the software in Windows 11

  1. Connect the K734BWG via USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  2. Test normal text input.
  3. Download the official v2.0 package.
  4. Close Redragon software for other keyboards.
  5. Run Redragon_K734BWG-RGB-PRO_GASKET_Mounted_Setup_v2.0_20250220.exe.
  6. Complete the installation.
  7. Leave the keyboard connected.
  8. Launch Redragon Software.
  9. Check whether the device is detected.

Installing the software in Windows 10

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  2. Wait for Windows to detect the device.
  3. Test text input.
  4. Download the official installer.
  5. Close other Redragon programs.
  6. Run the EXE file.
  7. Complete the installation.
  8. Launch the software while the keyboard is connected.

The software says Device not detected

If the K734BWG types normally but the software does not detect it, the standard HID driver is already working.

Check:

  1. If Bluetooth is being used, switch to USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  2. Close Redragon Software.
  3. Connect the keyboard directly to the computer.
  4. Try another USB port.
  5. Do not use a USB hub.
  6. Make sure the official K734BWG v2.0 package is installed.
  7. Close configuration software for other keyboards.
  8. Launch the Software again.

Windows detects the keyboard, but Redragon Software does not

If normal input works, do not immediately remove system HID devices.

First rule out:

  • Bluetooth mode;
  • incorrect software;
  • a problematic USB port;
  • a USB hub;
  • software for another Redragon keyboard running at the same time.

How to reinstall the software in Windows 11

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  2. Find Redragon Software.
  3. Click the three-dot button.
  4. Select Uninstall.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Connect the K734BWG via USB-C.
  7. Test normal input.
  8. Install the official v2.0 package again.

How to reinstall the software in Windows 10

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
  2. Find the Redragon software.
  3. Select it and click Uninstall.
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Connect the keyboard via USB.
  6. Install the official K734BWG Software again.

Configuring RGB through the software

The K734BWG supports advanced lighting configuration through Redragon Software.

You can use the settings available in the software:

  • RGB effects;
  • brightness;
  • speed;
  • single-color modes;
  • supported music lighting effects.

The names of tabs and options may differ depending on the interface version.

RGB does not change through the software

  1. Make sure the software has actually detected the K734BWG.
  2. If Bluetooth is being used, switch to USB or 2.4 GHz.
  3. Change only one setting.
  4. Apply the setting.
  5. Check the lighting.
  6. Close and reopen the software.

If software for another model is installed, remove it and use the official K734BWG package.

RGB or other settings are not saved

Check settings one at a time:

  1. Change one setting.
  2. Apply it.
  3. Close the software.
  4. Check the result.
  5. Turn the keyboard off and back on.
  6. Check the setting again.

Do not assume in advance that every software effect is necessarily stored in the internal memory in the same way.

Configuring macros

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB or 2.4 GHz.
  2. Launch Redragon Software.
  3. Open the macro editor.
  4. Create a short test macro.
  5. Record several simple keystrokes.
  6. Change the available delays if necessary.
  7. Assign the macro to a supported key.
  8. Apply the setting.
  9. Test the result in a safe application.

Only after a successful test should you proceed to longer sequences.

Keys work incorrectly after configuration

If the problem appeared after remapping or creating a macro:

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB.
  2. Launch K734BWG Software.
  3. Check recently changed assignments.
  4. Delete the problematic macro.
  5. Restore the default key action if the software allows it.
  6. Apply the changes.
  7. Test the keyboard in a regular text editor.

The keyboard battery drains quickly

The K734BWG uses a built-in battery, and RGB lighting noticeably increases power consumption.

If battery life has become too short:

  1. Fully charge the keyboard.
  2. Temporarily turn off RGB.
  3. Use one wireless mode.
  4. Compare battery life with the lighting on and off.
  5. Try another known-good USB cable.
  6. Try another USB port for charging.

If a new keyboard loses charge quickly even without lighting, do not disassemble it immediately — first check the warranty service options.

The wireless connection periodically drops

Check:

  • the battery charge level;
  • the distance to the computer;
  • the receiver’s USB port;
  • whether a USB hub is being used;
  • radio interference;
  • keyboard operation via USB-C.

If the K734BWG works reliably over a cable, the problem does not appear to be a malfunction of the standard HID driver.

One key does not work or misses keystrokes

The K734BWG-RGB-PRO supports hot-swap, so after ruling out software causes, you can test the mechanical switch itself.

First:

  1. Check the key assignment in Redragon Software.
  2. Check whether a macro is associated with it.
  3. Test the key with the software closed.
  4. Test it on another computer.

Only then proceed to testing the switch.

How to test the switch using hot-swap

  1. Turn off the keyboard and disconnect USB.
  2. Remove the keycap from the problematic key.
  3. Carefully remove the mechanical switch.
  4. Inspect the contacts.
  5. Swap it with a known-good compatible 3- or 5-pin switch.
  6. Turn the keyboard back on.
  7. Test both positions.

If the fault moves with the switch, the switch is probably the problem. If the same socket still does not work, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket or PCB.

Do not use excessive force. Before installing the switch, make sure that its pins are straight and that the switch itself is compatible with the keyboard.

How to check the K734BWG in Windows 11

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards section.
  4. Check Human Interface Devices.
  5. If you are having a Bluetooth problem, also check the Bluetooth section.

The K734BWG may appear under a standard HID keyboard name. The absence of the word Redragon in the device name is not an error by itself.

How to check the K734BWG in Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Check the Keyboards and Human Interface Devices sections.
  4. When using Bluetooth, check the Bluetooth section.

If you have determined that the error is specifically related to the K734BWG:

  1. Disconnect the keyboard.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Find the related device with the warning icon.
  4. Right-click it.
  5. Select Uninstall device.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  8. Wait for Windows to automatically reinstall the device.
Do not remove random HID, Bluetooth, or USB devices. The keyboard may create several related entries for the main keys, multimedia controls, and additional functions.

Do not install firmware from another K734

If 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, or device detection in the software does not work, do not use firmware from the K734SP, K734WCG, or another modification simply because they share the K734 name.

The fact that the K734SP and K734BWG use the same configuration software does not prove that their firmware is compatible.

First check:

  • the correct connection mode;
  • the official K734BWG v2.0 package;
  • operation via USB-C;
  • another USB port;
  • the battery charge;
  • Bluetooth pairing;
  • operation of the 2.4 GHz receiver.
Configuration software and firmware are different components. Incorrect software can usually be removed, while incompatible firmware can disrupt operation of the keyboard itself.

If the keyboard does not work at all

Start with a wired test:

  1. Switch the keyboard to wired mode.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable.
  3. Try another USB port.
  4. Try another known-good cable that supports data transfer.
  5. Allow the battery to charge.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Test the keyboard on another PC.

If everything works over USB, troubleshoot Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz separately.

If the K734BWG is not detected even over USB on another computer, installing another version of Redragon Software usually will not resolve such a hardware problem.

Can the K734BWG-RGB-PRO be used without Redragon software?

Yes. The proprietary software is not required for normal text input.

Windows uses standard HID drivers, and the keyboard can operate via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth without Redragon Software.

The v2.0 software is worth installing when you need macros, remapping of supported keys, profiles, and advanced RGB configuration.
