Redragon K708 RGB PRO Series: driver, software, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, display, and RGB lighting

This guide applies to Redragon K708-RGB-PRO, K708MC-RGB-PRO, K708AK-RGB-PRO, K708GF-RGB-PRO, K708WLB-RGB-PRO, and K708GG-RGB-PRO keyboards. These models belong to the same K708 RGB PRO family and use a common hardware platform. They support wired USB-C connectivity, 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity and Bluetooth, a built-in display, RGB lighting, and replaceable mechanical switches.

A separate Redragon system driver is not required for normal operation. After connection, Windows automatically installs the standard HID keyboard driver. The proprietary Redragon program is only needed for advanced configuration: remapping supported keys, macros, profiles, and RGB.

Which models are covered by this guide

• Redragon K708-RGB-PRO;
• Redragon K708MC-RGB-PRO;
• Redragon K708AK-RGB-PRO;
• Redragon K708GF-RGB-PRO;

The main connection instructions, hardware key combinations, Bluetooth operation, 2.4 GHz connection, RGB, Windows/macOS modes, and factory reset are the same or almost the same for these keyboards.

Does Redragon K708 need a driver?

A special Redragon driver is not required for basic keyboard operation.

Windows automatically installs the necessary HID components when the keyboard is connected:

• via USB-C;
• through the included 2.4 GHz USB receiver;
• via Bluetooth.

If the keyboard types and the main keys work, the standard Windows HID driver is already installed.

There is no need to look for a separate driver just because the lighting, display, or proprietary program does not work. These functions should be diagnosed separately.

Why the program may be called KS82 PRO MAX

The verified official installers for K708MC-RGB-PRO, K708AK-RGB-PRO, K708GF-RGB-PRO, K708WLB-RGB-PRO, and K708GG-RGB-PRO are currently identical software packages.

They use the following internal designation:

KS82 PRO MAX

Therefore, after installation, the program name, shortcut, or executable file may not contain the K708 designation.

For the standard K708-RGB-PRO, the verified installer differs from the KS82 PRO MAX package, so it is especially important to use its own official download.

K708WLB and K708WLG — why are there two names?

The official Redragon download center uses the designation:

K708WLB-RGB-PRO

In some official product materials and documentation, the same family variant appears as:

K708WLG-RGB-PRO

When searching for software, use the designation K708WLB-RGB-PRO if that is the name shown in the current Redragon download center.

K708GG and K708GGB — is this an error in the file name?

No. For the K708GG-RGB-PRO model, the official website may provide the installer:

Redragon K708GGB-RGB-PRO.exe

The additional letter B in the file name does not mean that the program is intended for another keyboard.

Digital signature of K708 software

The currently verified installers for the K708 family have an Authenticode digital signature.

The certificates of the verified files list the signer as:

How to install Redragon K708 software

1. First connect the keyboard and make sure normal input works without the Redragon program.
2. Open the official download center.
3. Find the exact K708 model.
4. Download the Windows installer provided for it.
5. For initial setup, it is recommended to use a wired USB-C connection.
6. Close Redragon programs intended for other keyboards.
7. Run the downloaded EXE file.
8. Confirm the Windows prompt to allow changes if it appears.
9. Complete the installation.
10. Launch the program.

For K708MC, K708AK, K708GF, K708WLB, and K708GG, the program may appear as KS82 PRO MAX.

For normal typing, Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz connectivity, and use of the built-in lighting effects, you do not need to install the proprietary program.

Wired USB-C connection

Wired mode is recommended for the initial keyboard check, working with the proprietary program, and troubleshooting.

1. Move the 2.4G / OFF / BT switch to OFF.
2. Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard.
3. Connect the other end of the cable directly to a USB port on the computer.
4. Wait a few seconds.
5. Open a text editor and test text input.

If K708 works over USB, the basic Windows HID driver is functioning correctly.

Connecting via 2.4 GHz

The included USB receiver is used for 2.4 GHz mode.

1. Move the switch to 2.4G.
2. Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
3. Wait a few seconds.
4. Test text input.

If pairing has been saved, the keyboard should connect automatically.

Re-pairing the 2.4 GHz receiver

If K708 works over USB or Bluetooth but no longer connects to the receiver:

1. Make sure the keyboard is charged.
2. Move the switch to 2.4G.
3. Disconnect the USB receiver from the computer.
4. Press and hold FN + 4 for about 3 seconds.
5. Wait for the mode indicator to flash rapidly.
6. Connect the included receiver to the computer.
7. Place the keyboard near the receiver during pairing.
8. Wait for the connection to complete.

Connecting Redragon K708 via Bluetooth

K708 family keyboards support three Bluetooth profiles.

For new pairing, hold the required combination for about 3 seconds. A short press is used to switch between already saved devices.

Depending on the version, the keyboard may appear in the Bluetooth list under different names, for example:

• BT5.2_1, BT5.2_2, BT5.2_3;
• BT5.0 Keyboard-1, BT5.0 Keyboard-2, BT5.0 Keyboard-3.

If the name is different, look for the new device that appears after starting pairing mode for the selected profile.

Bluetooth in Windows 11

1. Move the keyboard switch to BT.
2. Hold FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for about 3 seconds.
3. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices.
4. Turn on Bluetooth.
5. Click Add device.
6. Select Bluetooth.
7. Find the keyboard that appears.
8. Select it and wait for pairing to complete.

Bluetooth in Windows 10

1. Move the keyboard switch to BT.
2. Hold the required combination FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for about 3 seconds.
3. Open Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices.
4. Turn on Bluetooth.
5. Click Add Bluetooth or other device.
6. Select Bluetooth.
7. Find the keyboard device that appears.
8. Complete the pairing process.

Switching between three Bluetooth devices

After the initial pairing, use:

• FN + 1 — first device;
• FN + 2 — second device;
• FN + 3 — third device.

A short press switches the saved profile. Holding the combination starts a new pairing process.

If Bluetooth no longer connects

If the keyboard remains among the saved Windows devices but the connection can no longer be established, remove the old pairing and create it again.

Windows 11

1. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices.
2. Find the saved keyboard.
3. Open the device menu and select Remove device.
4. Switch K708 to BT mode.
5. Hold the required combination FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for about 3 seconds.
6. Add the keyboard again.

Windows 10

1. Open Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices.
2. Select the saved keyboard.
3. Click Remove device.
4. Start a new Bluetooth pairing mode.
5. Select Add Bluetooth or other device → Bluetooth.
6. Add the keyboard again.

Removing the Bluetooth pairing does not remove the standard Windows HID driver and does not affect 2.4 GHz mode.

Controlling RGB lighting without the program

The main RGB functions can be controlled directly from the keyboard.

The documentation for different K708 variants specifies different numbers of built-in effects. This does not affect the configuration procedure: cycle through the available modes with FN + right Shift.

In supported modes, FN + Enter can be used to select individual colors or a multicolor RGB option.

Custom lighting without the program

The K708 family allows you to create a custom lighting layout directly from the keyboard.

Use:

FN + Backspace

1. Press FN + Backspace to enter custom mode.
2. Use the combination again to begin configuration.
3. After entering recording mode, the Caps Lock indicator starts flashing.
4. Select the required key.
5. Press it repeatedly to select an available color.
6. Repeat the configuration for other keys.
7. Press FN + Backspace to save the result.

For advanced RGB configuration, you can use the proprietary software.

Built-in display and multifunction knob

K708 family keyboards are equipped with a built-in display and a multifunction rotary knob. In the documentation for individual variants, the panel technology may be referred to as TFT, OLED, or LCD, so for configuration it is sufficient to refer to the built-in screen itself.

In normal mode, the knob is used to control the volume.

To use the menu:

1. Press the knob to open the display menu.
2. Rotate the knob to move between the available items.
3. Press the knob to confirm the selected function.

If no action is taken for several seconds, the menu closes automatically.

The display allows you to view or change supported keyboard settings. The available options may differ slightly depending on the version.

If the display does not work

If the keyboard types but the screen does not show information:

1. Move the switch to OFF.
2. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
3. Check the knob.
4. Try opening the menu by pressing the knob.
5. Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds and connect it again.
6. Perform a reset with FN + ESC.
7. Check the display before launching the proprietary program.

If the keyboard works but the display remains completely inactive after a reset and reconnection, the cause may be hardware-related. Reinstalling the standard HID driver usually does not restore a faulty screen.

Switching between Windows and macOS

For Windows mode, use:

FN + W

For macOS mode:

FN + A

The operating system mode may also be switched through the built-in menu.

If the Win, Alt, or other system keys begin working unusually in Windows, first press FN + W.

Locking the Windows key

To lock the Windows key, use:

FN + Win

Pressing the combination again restores normal operation of the key.

How to check the battery level

To display the battery level, use:

FN + INS

Hold the combination to make the keyboard display the battery level. After you release the keys, the device returns to normal mode.

The documentation for some K708 variants specifies a 4000 mAh battery. For this general guide, it is more important to use the actual battery level indicator on your keyboard.

When the battery level is low, the RGB lighting may turn off and the power indicator may begin flashing red. Connect the USB-C cable and charge the keyboard.

Sleep mode

During wireless operation, the keyboard automatically reduces power consumption after a period of inactivity.

For K708 variants whose manuals provide exact values, the following behavior is specified:

• after approximately 3 minutes of inactivity, the lighting turns off;
• after approximately 30 minutes, the keyboard enters a deeper sleep mode.

To wake the keyboard, press any key and wait for the wireless connection to be restored.

Resetting Redragon K708 to factory settings

If the keyboard works incorrectly after changing RGB, macros, profiles, or the operating system mode, perform a hardware reset.

Press and hold:

FN + ESC

Hold the combination for about 3 seconds.

After the reset, first test the keyboard without launching the proprietary program.

What the proprietary program is used for

Redragon software is used for advanced keyboard configuration.

Depending on the program version, the following functions are available:

• remapping supported keys;
• creating and editing macros;
• working with profiles;
• advanced RGB lighting configuration.

This program is not required for USB-C, 2.4 GHz, or Bluetooth connectivity.

Creating macros

1. Connect the keyboard to the computer.
2. For configuration, it is recommended to use wired USB-C mode.
3. Launch the official program for your K708 model.
4. Open the macro management section.
5. Create a new macro.
6. Record the required key sequence.
7. If necessary, configure the available delays.
8. Save the macro.
9. Assign it to a supported key.
10. Apply the changes and test the result.

If the Redragon program does not detect the keyboard

If K708 types normally but the proprietary program does not detect the device:

1. Check that the program was downloaded through the entry for your exact K708 model.
2. If you are using K708MC, K708AK, K708GF, K708WLB, or K708GG, do not uninstall the program just because it is called KS82 PRO MAX.
3. Move the keyboard switch to OFF.
4. Connect the keyboard directly to the computer with a USB-C cable.
5. Do not use a USB hub or docking station.
6. Try another USB port.
7. Close other Redragon programs.
8. Close the K708 program and launch it again.
9. Restart Windows if necessary.

If software for another K708 model is installed

If you installed the wrong package, first uninstall it and test the keyboard without the proprietary program.

Windows 11

1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
2. Find the incorrect Redragon program.
3. Open the menu next to its name.
4. Select Uninstall.
5. Restart Windows.
6. If necessary, perform an FN + ESC reset.
7. Test the keyboard without the proprietary program.
8. Download the software through the entry for your exact K708 model.

Windows 10

1. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
2. Find the incorrect Redragon program.
3. Click Uninstall.
4. Restart Windows.
5. Test the keyboard without the proprietary program.
6. Install the program for the exact K708 model.

Removing the proprietary software does not remove the standard Windows HID driver.

If Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz do not work

First test the keyboard over USB.

1. Move the switch to OFF.
2. Connect the USB-C cable.
3. Test text input.

If wired mode works:

1. charge the keyboard;
2. check the switch position;
3. repeat 2.4 GHz pairing using FN + 4;
4. remove the old Bluetooth pairing and create it again;
5. try another USB port for the receiver.

If the keyboard works over USB, the problem is usually not related to the standard Windows HID driver.

If the 2.4 GHz connection drops intermittently

1. Check the keyboard’s battery level.
2. Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
3. Do not use a USB hub for troubleshooting.
4. Try another USB port.
5. Move the keyboard closer to the receiver.
6. Move the receiver away from sources of strong radio interference.
7. If necessary, repeat pairing using FN + 4.

If Bluetooth disconnects intermittently

1. Check the battery level.
2. Make sure the correct FN + 1/2/3 profile is selected.
3. Move the keyboard closer to the computer.
4. Remove the old Bluetooth pairing and add the device again.
5. Test the keyboard with another computer or Bluetooth device.

If K708 works reliably over USB and 2.4 GHz but Bluetooth disconnects only on one computer, also check that computer’s Bluetooth adapter and its driver.

If one key does not work

K708 family keyboards support hot-swap and compatible 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. Therefore, if one key fails, you can test the switch separately.

1. Turn off the keyboard and disconnect the USB-C cable.
2. Remove the keycap from the problem key.
3. Carefully remove the switch with a suitable switch puller.
4. Check the switch’s metal contacts.
5. Install a known-good compatible 3-pin or 5-pin switch.
6. Turn on the keyboard and test it again.

If the problem moves with the switch, the switch itself is most likely faulty.

If the same key position still does not work with a known-good switch, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket, PCB, or another hardware component.

If a key registers twice

If one press sometimes produces two identical characters:

1. Test the key in a normal text editor.
2. Close the Redragon program and repeat the test.
3. Test the keyboard in wired USB mode.
4. If the problem persists, turn off the keyboard.
5. Replace the suspected switch with a known-good one.
6. Repeat the test.

If the double input moves with the switch, the switch is the cause. If the problem remains at the same key position, there may be a fault in the hot-swap socket or PCB.

If Windows does not detect the keyboard at all

Use a wired connection for troubleshooting.

1. Move the switch to OFF.
2. Connect the USB-C cable directly to the computer.
3. Try another USB port.
4. Do not use a USB hub.
5. Try another known-good USB-C cable that supports data transfer.
6. Restart Windows.
7. Test the keyboard on another computer.

If the keyboard works on another computer, you can have Windows redetect the HID device.

Redetecting the keyboard in Windows

1. Connect K708 via USB.
2. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
3. Expand Keyboards.
4. If several HID keyboards are displayed, do not uninstall all of them.
5. Disconnect K708 and identify which entry disappears.
6. Connect the keyboard again and make sure the corresponding entry reappears.
7. Right-click the device you have positively identified.
8. Select Uninstall device.
9. Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds.
10. Connect it again.

Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID driver.

If a K708 family keyboard is not detected over USB even on another computer, installing software for another Redragon model usually will not help. In this case, check the USB-C cable, connector, and the keyboard itself.
