The keyboard included with the Redragon S101-BA-3 Gaming Combo does not require a separate proprietary driver for normal operation in Windows. After connection to a USB port, the operating system automatically uses the standard HID keyboard driver.
Official Redragon software is also available for the keyboard. It is intended for advanced key configuration, macros, profiles, and RGB lighting, but the software does not need to be installed for normal text input, use of the built-in lighting modes, or the G1–G5 hardware macro keys.
Does the S101-BA-3 keyboard need a driver?
A separate Redragon driver is not required for normal operation.
- Connect the keyboard’s USB cable directly to an available USB port on the computer.
- Wait a few seconds while Windows detects the device.
- Test text input and the main keys.
If the keyboard works, there is no need to search for or install an additional driver.
The standard Windows HID driver and the proprietary Redragon software are different components. The HID driver is required for normal operation and is installed automatically by Windows. Redragon software is used only for additional settings.
Is software available for the S101-BA-3 Keyboard?
Yes. Official Redragon software is available for the S101-BA-3 keyboard.
It can be downloaded from the official page:
Redragon S101-BA-3 Gaming Combo — Keyboard Software
At the time of verification, the official installer is named:
Redragon_S101-BA-3_K503A_Software.exe
Installer verification showed that the software is internally identified as:
Redragon K503A-RGB V2 GAMING KEYBOARD
What the Redragon software is used for
Verification of the official installer confirms the presence of components for advanced keyboard configuration. The software is designed to work with:
- macros;
- profiles;
- assignments for supported keys;
- RGB lighting;
- saving and loading supported settings.
An additional virtual HID component is installed together with the software and is required by the utility for advanced functions.
This additional component is not required for normal text input. If the Redragon software is not installed, the keyboard continues to work through the standard Windows HID driver.
How to install the software
- Open the official Redragon S101-BA-3 Keyboard download page.
- Download
Redragon_S101-BA-3_K503A_Software.exe. - Before installation, close other Redragon keyboard management programs.
- Connect the keyboard directly to a USB port on the computer.
- Run the installer.
- If Windows asks you to allow the app to make changes to your device, check the software name and confirm the launch.
- Complete the installation.
- Launch the Redragon software.
If K503A-RGB V2 appears in the software name after installation, there is no need to reinstall it just because of this name.
Can the keyboard be used without the software?
Yes. Most basic functions are available directly from the keyboard.
Without the proprietary software, you can:
- use the keyboard for normal work and gaming;
- switch between built-in RGB lighting modes;
- adjust the lighting brightness;
- change the speed of dynamic effects;
- create custom lighting by zones;
- record macros to G1–G5;
- lock the Windows key;
- use multimedia shortcuts.
Controlling RGB lighting without software
The keyboard supports six built-in lighting modes, including a custom mode.

- When configuration is complete, press FN + PAGE UP again to save the result.
Redragon software is not required for this configuration.
G1–G5 hardware macros
Five macro keys, G1–G5, and a Rec key are located on the left side of the keyboard. A macro can be recorded directly from the keyboard.
By default, G1–G5 correspond to the F1–F5 functions. After recording a macro, the selected G key executes the saved sequence.
How to record a macro
- Press Rec. The keyboard indicators will start flashing.
- Press one of the G1–G5 keys.
- Enter the key sequence you want to save.
- Press Rec again.
- Press the selected G key and test the result.
For example, to record the sequence A → S → D to G1:
Rec → G1 → A → S → D → Rec
How to delete one macro
- Press Rec.
- Press the G key whose macro you want to delete.
- Do not press any other keys.
- Press Rec again.
How to delete all G1–G5 macros

If the Redragon software does not detect the keyboard
The keyboard may work normally in Windows while the proprietary software does not detect the device.
First do the following:
- Make sure the installed software is specifically for S101-BA-3 Keyboard / K503A-RGB V2.
- Do not use software for K503, K503-KS, K503P-KS, or another revision.
- Connect the keyboard directly to a USB port on the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub, docking station, or extension cable during testing.
- Try another USB port.
- Close the Redragon software and launch it again.
- Restart Windows and test again.
If software for another model was previously installed
Before installing the correct software, it is recommended to remove the incompatible Redragon software.
Windows 11
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find the old Redragon software.
- Open its menu and select Uninstall.
- Complete the uninstallation.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the software for S101-BA-3 Keyboard.
Windows 10
- Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
- Find the old Redragon software.
- Select it and click Uninstall.
- Complete the uninstallation.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the software for S101-BA-3 Keyboard.
Uninstalling the proprietary software does not remove the main system HID keyboard driver.
If the lighting does not work
- Try switching the mode using FN + INSERT, FN + HOME, FN + DELETE, FN + END, or FN + PAGE DOWN.
- Press FN + R several times to increase the brightness.
- Disconnect the keyboard from the USB port for a few seconds.
- Connect it again.
- Try another USB port.
- If the problem appeared after configuration, perform a full reset using FN + ESC + F1 + F3 + F5.
Installing or reinstalling the Redragon software is usually not required to restore the basic lighting modes.
If the G1–G5 macro keys do not work
First keep in mind that by default, G1–G5 perform the F1–F5 functions.
If a recorded macro does not play back:
- Delete the recording from the problematic G key.
- Record a short test macro, such as one or two keys.
- Test it outside a game, for example in a text editor.
- If all G keys work incorrectly, delete all macros using FN + Rec.
- If this does not help, perform a full keyboard reset.
This helps distinguish a hardware macro recording problem from restrictions in a specific game or program.
If Windows does not detect the keyboard
If the keyboard does not respond to key presses at all:
- Disconnect it from the USB port.
- Connect it to another USB port on the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub or extension cable during testing.
- Restart Windows.
- If possible, test the keyboard on another computer.
If the device works on another computer, you can force Windows to detect the keyboard again.
Re-detecting the keyboard in Windows
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- If several identical HID keyboards are listed, do not remove all of them.
- Disconnect S101-BA-3 and identify which entry disappears.
- Reconnect the keyboard and make sure the corresponding entry appears.
- Right-click the identified device and select Uninstall device.
- Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds and connect it again.
Windows will detect the keyboard again and install the standard HID driver.
If the keyboard is not detected even on another computer, installing different Redragon software will usually not solve the problem. In this case, check the USB cable, the connector, and the keyboard itself.
