The Redragon S101M-WS wireless membrane keyboard does not require a separate proprietary driver for normal operation in Windows. After connection, the operating system uses the standard HID keyboard driver.
Separate official Redragon software is also available for S101M-WS. It is intended for additional functions and device configuration but does not replace the standard Windows system driver.
Does the S101M-WS Keyboard need a driver?
A separate Redragon driver is not required for typing and normal operation.
After a successful connection, Windows automatically creates a standard HID keyboard device. If the keys work, this means that the required system driver is already installed.
Redragon proprietary software and the system HID driver are different components.
- The HID driver is installed automatically by Windows and provides basic keyboard operation.
- Redragon software is used for the available additional settings.
Official S101M-WS Keyboard software
The official software can be downloaded from the Redragon download center:
At the time of verification, Redragon provides the following archive for the keyboard:
Redragon_S101M-WS_Wireless_Membrane_Keyboard_setup_1.0.4.4.zip
After extraction, it contains the installer:
Redragon S101M-WS Wireless Membrane Keyboard setup 1.0.4.4.exe
Installer verification confirmed:
- ProductName: Redragon S101M-WS Wireless Membrane Keyboard;
- ProductVersion: 1.0.4.4;
- the installer has a digital signature from SHENZHEN SHINETEK TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.

- Extract the ZIP archive completely.
- Connect the keyboard to the computer using its normal connection method.
- Close any Redragon software intended for other keyboards.

Redragon S101M-WS Wireless Membrane Keyboard setup 1.0.4.4.exe. - Confirm the Windows prompt to allow changes if it appears.
- Complete the installation.
- Launch the software and check whether the keyboard is detected.
How to connect the keyboard to Windows
For the initial test, do not install the proprietary software in advance. First make sure the keyboard itself is detected by Windows.
- Turn on the keyboard.
- Use the included wireless connection method and the standard receiver if your combo version includes one.
- Connect the receiver directly to a USB port on the computer.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Open a text editor and test typing.
If the keyboard works, there is no need to install an additional driver.
If the keyboard works but the software does not detect it
These are two different situations. If the keys work in Windows, the standard HID driver is already installed.
If the proprietary software does not detect the device:
- Make sure the installed software is specifically for S101M-WS Wireless Membrane Keyboard.
- Do not use software for S101M-KS or another S101 model.
- Close other Redragon software.
- Reconnect the standard wireless receiver if it is used.
- Connect the receiver directly to a USB port on the computer without using a USB hub.
- Try another USB port.
- Close the Redragon software and launch it again.
- Restart Windows.
If S101M-KS software or software for another model was previously installed
Before installing S101M-WS software, it is recommended to remove the incompatible utility.
Windows 11
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find the old Redragon software.
- Open its menu and select Uninstall.
- Complete the uninstallation.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the S101M-WS software.
Windows 10
- Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
- Find the old Redragon software.
- Select it and click Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the S101M-WS software.
Uninstalling the proprietary software does not remove the standard Windows keyboard driver.
If the wireless keyboard stops working
- Check the keyboard power.
- Turn it off and back on.
- Reconnect the standard USB receiver if it is used.
- Try another USB port on the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub or extension cable for testing.
- Move the keyboard closer to the receiver.
- Check whether other nearby wireless USB devices are causing interference.
- Restart the computer and test the keyboard before launching the Redragon software.
If the problem appeared after installing the proprietary software, temporarily uninstall the software and test the basic keyboard operation without it.
If the keyboard disconnects intermittently
Intermittent wireless connection drops should not be troubleshot by installing a random driver from the Internet.
First:
- connect the receiver directly to the computer;
- try another USB port;
- move the receiver away from sources of strong radio interference;
- check the keyboard power;
- test the device on another computer.
If the problem occurs in the same way on different computers, the cause may be in the keyboard, receiver, or wireless connection rather than the Windows driver.
If Windows does not detect the keyboard at all
If Windows does not respond to the device:
- try another USB port;
- reconnect the standard receiver;
- restart the computer;
- test the keyboard on another computer.
If the receiver is detected but the keyboard does not work, do not install software for another Redragon model to restore the connection.
Re-detecting the device in Windows
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards and Human Interface Devices.
- Do not remove all HID devices one by one.
- Disconnect the S101M-WS receiver and see which entry disappears.
- Reconnect the receiver and make sure that entry appears again.
- Only after accurately identifying the device, right-click it and select Uninstall device.
- Disconnect the receiver for a few seconds.
- Connect it again.
Windows will reinstall the standard system components for the device.
