Redragon S101M-WS Gaming Combo — Mice: driver, software, DPI, and troubleshooting

Last Updated on 13.09.2026 by DriverNew

The wireless gaming mouse included with the Redragon S101M-WS does not require a separate proprietary driver for normal operation in Windows. After connection, Windows uses the standard system HID mouse driver.

For advanced configuration, Redragon provides separate official S101M-WS Wireless Gaming Mouse software. It is not a mandatory driver: if the pointer moves and the main buttons work, the system driver is already installed.

Important: do not install S101M-KS / M602P-KS software just because the combo names are similar. For S101M-WS, Redragon released separate mouse software version 1.0.0.7.

Does S101M-WS Mice need a driver?

A separate Redragon driver is not required for basic operation.

After a successful wireless connection, Windows automatically creates a standard HID mouse device.

If the following work:

  • pointer movement;
  • left button;
  • right button;
  • scroll wheel;

then the system driver is already installed.

The proprietary software is required only for the available additional mouse settings.

Official S101M-WS Mice software

The software can be downloaded from the official Redragon download center:

Redragon Software

At the time of verification, the following archive is offered for S101M-WS:

Redragon_S101M-WS_Wireless_Gaming_Mouse_setup_1.0.0.7_V1.zip

After extraction, it contains:

Redragon S101M-WS Wireless Gaming Mouse setup 1.0.0.7.exe

Installer verification confirmed:

  • ProductName: Redragon S101M-WS Wireless Gaming Mouse;
  • ProductVersion: 1.0.0.7;
  • the installer has a digital signature from SHENZHEN SHINETEK TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.
You do not need to install M602P-KS Software for S101M-WS. Unlike S101M-KS, Redragon distributes a separate installer for this version, which is internally identified specifically as S101M-WS Wireless Gaming Mouse.

How to install the mouse software

  1. Download the S101M-WS Gaming Combo — Mice archive from the official Redragon website.
  2. Extract the ZIP file completely.
  3. Connect the mouse using its standard wireless connection method.
  4. Close any Redragon software intended for other mice.
  5. Run Redragon S101M-WS Wireless Gaming Mouse setup 1.0.0.7.exe.
  6. Complete the installation.
  7. Launch the software and check whether the mouse is detected.
If Windows displays a security warning: continue with the installation only for a file downloaded directly from the official Redragon website and corresponding to the S101M-WS model.

How to connect the mouse to the computer

The proprietary software is not required for the initial connection.

  1. Turn on the mouse.
  2. Use the standard wireless connection method and the included USB receiver, if your version includes one.
  3. Connect the receiver directly to a USB port on the computer.
  4. Wait a few seconds.
  5. Check pointer movement and the main buttons.

If the mouse starts working, there is no need to look for a separate Redragon driver.

DPI configuration

The gaming mouse supports changing DPI sensitivity. For quick switching, the physical DPI button on the mouse is usually used.

The proprietary software allows you to work with the sensitivity levels and DPI settings supported by the specific S101M-WS hardware version.

Do not apply DPI values from S101M-KS, S101-3 PRO, or other Redragon mice to S101M-WS. This model uses separate software, so the specific sensitivity steps are best checked directly in the S101M-WS software.

If the pointer becomes too fast or too slow

  1. Press the DPI button several times and check the available steps.
  2. If the Redragon software is installed, open the DPI settings.
  3. Check the saved values.
  4. Restore a more suitable sensitivity.
  5. Save or apply the settings.

Configuring buttons and other settings

Use the official S101M-WS software for the available advanced mouse settings.

If one of the buttons starts performing the wrong command after changing settings:

  1. open the Redragon software;
  2. select the corresponding button;
  3. restore the default assignment;
  4. apply the changes;
  5. test the mouse again.

If many settings have been changed and it is difficult to identify the cause, use the restore default settings function if it is available in the current software version.

If the software says Device is Disconnected

The mouse may work normally in Windows while the proprietary software does not detect the device or displays the message Device is Disconnected.

If the pointer moves, this means that the standard Windows HID driver is already working.

  1. Check the name of the installed software.
  2. It should be for S101M-WS Wireless Gaming Mouse.
  3. Uninstall M602P-KS, S101M-KS, or another Redragon utility if it was installed for this mouse by mistake.
  4. Connect the standard receiver directly to a USB port on the computer.
  5. Do not use a USB hub during testing.
  6. Try another USB port.
  7. Close the Redragon software and launch it again.
  8. Restart Windows.
Device is Disconnected does not automatically mean that the Windows driver is missing. If the mouse controls the pointer, the system HID driver is installed. First check that you are using the correct proprietary software and verify the wireless connection.

If software for S101M-KS or another mouse is installed

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  2. Find the incompatible Redragon software.
  3. Open the app menu and select Uninstall.
  4. Complete the uninstallation.
  5. Restart Windows.
  6. Install the S101M-WS Wireless Gaming Mouse software.

Windows 10

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
  2. Find the incompatible Redragon software.
  3. Select it and click Uninstall.
  4. Restart Windows.
  5. Install the correct S101M-WS software.

Uninstalling the proprietary software should not remove the standard Windows HID mouse driver.

If the mouse does not work wirelessly

  1. Check the mouse power.
  2. Turn the device off and back on.
  3. Reconnect the included receiver if it is used.
  4. Try another USB port.
  5. Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
  6. Do not use a USB hub or extension cable for testing.
  7. Move the mouse closer to the receiver.
  8. Restart Windows.

If the mouse works before launching the Redragon software but stops working after changing its settings, restore the default settings or temporarily uninstall the software.

If the mouse disconnects intermittently

Intermittent connection drops should more often be checked as a power, wireless connection, or USB receiver problem rather than as a missing driver.

  1. Try another USB port.
  2. Do not connect the receiver through a USB hub.
  3. Move it away from devices that may cause radio interference.
  4. Check the mouse power.
  5. Test the device on another computer.

If the problem occurs in the same way on several computers, reinstalling the proprietary software will usually not fix a fault in the mouse or receiver itself.

If Windows does not detect the mouse at all

If Windows does not respond to the device and the pointer does not move:

  1. reconnect the standard receiver;
  2. use another USB port;
  3. do not use a USB hub;
  4. restart Windows;
  5. test the mouse on another computer.

If the device works on another computer, you can force Windows to detect the HID device again.

Re-detecting the mouse in Windows

  1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  3. If necessary, also check the Human Interface Devices section.
  4. Do not remove all HID mice one by one.
  5. Disconnect the S101M-WS receiver and identify which entry disappears.
  6. Reconnect it and make sure the entry appears again.
  7. Right-click the specifically identified device and select Uninstall device.
  8. Disconnect the receiver for a few seconds.
  9. Connect it again.

Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID components.

If the mouse is not detected even on another computer, installing software for another Redragon model will usually not help. In this case, the device itself and the included wireless receiver need to be checked.
