Redragon K633CGO-RGB Ryze is a wired 65% mechanical keyboard with 68 keys, USB-C connectivity, and RGB lighting. A separate proprietary Redragon driver is not required for normal operation in Windows. After the keyboard is connected, the operating system automatically uses the standard HID keyboard driver.
For advanced configuration, the official Redragon K633CGO-RGB Setup V1.6.6 software is available. It is designed for programming supported keys, creating macros, working with profiles, and more detailed RGB lighting configuration.
Does the Redragon K633CGO-RGB need a driver?
A separate Redragon driver is not required for basic operation.
- Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard.
- Connect the other end of the cable directly to a USB port on the computer.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Windows will automatically detect the device and install the standard HID driver.
- Open a text editor and test the keys.
If the keyboard types normally and the main keys work, there is no need to look for another system driver.
The Redragon software is an additional configuration utility and does not replace the standard Windows HID driver.
Official K633CGO-RGB software
The software can be downloaded from the official Redragon page:
Redragon K633CGO Gaming Keyboard Software
At the time of verification, the official website offers the following file:
Redragon_K633CGO-Software.exe
Testing showed that this file corresponds to the official installer:
Redragon_K633CGO-RGB_Setup_V1.6.6_20220902.exe
This means that Redragon continues to distribute software version 1.6.6, but now uses a shorter filename for the download.
How to install the Redragon software
- Download the software from the official K633CGO page.
- Connect the keyboard directly to a USB port on the computer.
- Close other Redragon keyboard management programs.
- Run
Redragon_K633CGO-Software.exe. - Confirm the Windows prompt to allow changes if it appears.
- Complete the installation.
- Launch the software and check whether the keyboard is detected.
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning
The verified K633CGO-RGB V1.6.6 installer does not have an Authenticode digital signature. Therefore, Windows 10 or Windows 11 may display a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning or indicate an unknown publisher.
If Windows displays “Windows protected your PC” and you are sure you are using the official file, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
Can K633CGO-RGB be used without the software?
Yes. The software does not need to be installed for normal operation and most built-in functions.
Without the proprietary software, you can:
- type and use the keyboard in games;
- switch between built-in RGB effects;
- adjust the lighting brightness;
- change the speed of dynamic effects;
- use the custom lighting mode;
- lock the Windows key;
- use additional functions of the compact layout;
- restore the keyboard to its default settings.
RGB lighting without software
K633CGO-RGB supports 20 built-in RGB lighting effects.
| Key combination | Function |
|---|---|
| FN + PgDn | Cycles through the built-in RGB effects. |
| FN + ↑ | Increases brightness. |
| FN + ↓ | Decreases brightness. |
| FN + → | Increases the speed of the dynamic effect. |
| FN + ← | Decreases the speed of the dynamic effect. |
Speed adjustment applies only to modes that use a dynamic effect.
Custom RGB lighting
The keyboard allows you to create a custom lighting configuration directly from the keys without installing the software.
- Enter custom mode using the designated FN + Tab shortcut.
- Select the key whose color you want to change.
- Cycle through the available colors for the selected key.
- If necessary, repeat the configuration for other keys.
- Save the custom configuration using the designated shortcut.
Several colors are available for individual keys, as well as the option to turn the lighting off.
Resetting the keyboard settings
If K633CGO-RGB does not work correctly after configuring the lighting, macros, or key assignments, perform a hardware reset.
Press and hold:
FN + ESC
Hold the shortcut for approximately 3 seconds.
After the reset, it is recommended to first test the keyboard without launching the proprietary software.
If the Windows key does not work
To prevent the Start menu from opening accidentally during a game, K633CGO-RGB allows you to lock the Windows key.
Use:
FN + WIN
Pressing it again removes the lock.
If the Windows key suddenly stops working, first press FN + WIN. There is no need to reinstall the driver for this.
How to use F1–F12 on the compact keyboard
K633CGO-RGB has 68 keys, so there is no separate F1–F12 row. These functions are accessed through FN.
| Shortcut | Function |
|---|---|
| FN + 1 — FN + 0 | F1 — F10 |
| FN + – | F11 |
| FN + = | F12 |
Multimedia functions
Some multimedia commands are also performed using the FN key. They use shortcuts with keys from the lower letter row, including Z, X, C, V, B, N, and M.
Available functions include playback and volume controls. The result of individual commands may depend on the active application and Windows settings.
What K633CGO-RGB V1.6.6 is used for
The proprietary software is intended for advanced keyboard configuration.
It allows you to work with functions such as:
- programming supported keys;
- macros;
- configuration profiles;
- advanced RGB lighting control.
If the keyboard’s built-in functions are sufficient, the software does not need to be installed.
Programming keys
Through the proprietary software, additional actions can be assigned to supported keys.
After changing an assignment:
- check the selected key;
- assign the required action;
- apply the changes;
- test the result in a regular application before launching a game.
If a key starts performing the wrong action, restore the default assignment or restore the original profile.
Creating macros
The K633CGO-RGB software allows you to create keystroke sequences and assign them to supported keys.
- Open the macro section.
- Create a new macro.
- Record the required key sequence.
- If necessary, configure the delays.
- Save the macro.
- Assign it to a supported key.
- Apply the settings.
Keyboard profiles
The software supports profiles. Different profiles are convenient for individual games or programs.
If the keys or lighting suddenly start working differently, first check the active profile in the software.
If the Redragon software does not detect the keyboard
K633CGO-RGB may work normally in Windows while the V1.6.6 software does not detect the device.
- Make sure the installed software is specifically for K633CGO-RGB.
- Do not use software for K633RGB-PRO, K631, K629, or another similar model.
- Connect the keyboard directly to a USB port on the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub or docking station for testing.
- Try another USB port.
- Disconnect the USB-C cable for a few seconds and reconnect it.
- Close the Redragon software and launch it again.
- Restart Windows.
Do not install software for another Redragon model
Redragon has several keyboards with similar model designations, but their software should not be considered interchangeable.
In particular, K633CGO-RGB and K633RGB-PRO are different models.
If the keys work incorrectly after installing the wrong software
If the problem appeared after installing software for another Redragon keyboard:
- Close the incorrect software.
- Uninstall it from Windows.
- Disconnect K633CGO-RGB from the computer.
- Reconnect the keyboard.
- Perform a hardware reset by holding FN + ESC for approximately 3 seconds.
- Restart Windows.
- Before launching any software, test the keys in a text editor.
- Only after normal operation has been restored, install the official K633CGO-RGB Setup V1.6.6 if necessary.
Removing the wrong software in Windows 11
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find the Redragon software intended for another model.
- Open the menu next to its name.
- Select Uninstall.
- Complete the uninstallation.
- Restart Windows.
- Perform a FN + ESC reset and test the keyboard.
Removing the wrong software in Windows 10
- Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
- Find the incompatible Redragon software.
- Select it and click Uninstall.
- Complete the uninstallation.
- Restart Windows.
- Reset the keyboard and test it again.
Removing the proprietary software does not remove the standard Windows HID keyboard driver.
If the RGB lighting does not work
- Press FN + PgDn several times to switch between the built-in effects.
- Press FN + ↑ several times to increase the brightness.
- Perform a reset using FN + ESC.
- Disconnect the USB-C cable for a few seconds and reconnect it.
- Try another USB port.
- If the Redragon software is installed, check the active profile and RGB settings.
If the keyboard works but the lighting is absent and is not restored after a reset, checking the software, and testing on another computer, the lighting may have a hardware fault.
If K633CGO-RGB disconnects intermittently
The keyboard uses a detachable USB-C connection, so intermittent disconnections may be related to the cable or connector rather than the driver.
- Insert the USB-C plug firmly into the keyboard.
- Connect the other end of the cable directly to the computer.
- Try another USB port.
- Do not use a USB hub or extension cable during testing.
- If you have a suitable known-good data cable, test the keyboard with it.
- Test K633CGO-RGB on another computer.
If the disconnections continue on different computers and with a known-good cable, installing another software version will usually not resolve a hardware problem.
If Windows does not detect the keyboard at all
- Disconnect K633CGO-RGB.
- Reconnect the USB-C cable.
- Use another USB port on the computer.
- Do not connect the keyboard through a USB hub.
- Restart Windows.
- If possible, test the keyboard on another computer.
If the device works on another computer, you can force Windows to detect the HID keyboard again.
Re-detecting the HID keyboard in Windows
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- If several HID keyboards are listed, do not remove all of them.
- Disconnect K633CGO-RGB and identify which entry disappears.
- Reconnect the keyboard and make sure the corresponding entry appears.
- Right-click the specifically identified device.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds.
- Connect it again.
Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID driver.
If K633CGO-RGB is not detected even on another computer, installing different Redragon software will usually not help. In this case, check the USB-C cable, the connector, and the keyboard itself.
