Redragon K681GB-PRO-DE is a 75% wireless mechanical keyboard with a German QWERTZ layout and USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth connectivity. A separate proprietary Redragon driver is not required for normal operation. After the keyboard is connected, Windows automatically uses the standard HID keyboard driver.
For advanced configuration, separate Redragon K681GB-PRO-DE Setup V2.0 software is used. It is designed for remapping supported keys, creating macros, working with profiles, and advanced RGB lighting configuration. The software does not need to be installed for normal text input and keyboard connectivity.
Does the Redragon K681GB-PRO-DE need a driver?
A separate Redragon driver is not required for basic operation.
Windows automatically installs the necessary HID components when connected:
- via USB-C;
- through the included 2.4 GHz receiver;
- via Bluetooth.
If the keyboard already types normally, there is no need to look for an additional system driver.
The Redragon software is a configuration utility and does not replace the standard Windows HID driver.
Official K681GB-PRO-DE software
It is recommended to download the software through the official Redragon download center:
The verified version was distributed under the following name:
Redragon_K681GB-PRO-DE_Setup_v2.0_20251028.exe
The software version is 2.0.
This is a separate software package for the German K681GB-PRO-DE version. It differs from the previously released K681MG-RGB-PRO / K681SP-RGB-PRO Setup V2.0.
How to install K681GB-PRO-DE Setup V2.0

German QWERTZ layout: why Y and Z are swapped
K681GB-PRO-DE is designed for the German layout. Therefore, the symbols printed on the physical keys differ from those on a standard English US QWERTY keyboard.
For example:
- the Y and Z keys are positioned differently;
- German characters Ä, Ö, Ü, and ß are present;
- the positions of some punctuation marks and special characters differ from the US layout.
How to add the German layout in Windows 11
- Open Settings → Time & language → Language & region.
- If German is not listed, click Add a language.
- Find German and add it.
- In the language options, make sure the German keyboard has been added.
- Switch to it using the language indicator on the taskbar.
- Test the Y, Z, and special character keys.
There is no need to remove the Russian or English layout. You can keep multiple layouts and switch between them.
How to add the German layout in Windows 10
- Open Settings → Time & Language → Language.
- Select Add a language.
- Add the German language.
- Open its options and make sure the German keyboard is installed.
- Switch to the German layout using the language indicator on the taskbar.
- Check that the characters correspond to the physical keys.
If Y and Z type incorrectly
Perform a simple test:
- Open Notepad.
- Press the physical key labeled Z.
- Then press the Y key.
If Windows enters characters as on a US QWERTY layout while the keycaps have German QWERTZ markings, switch the input language to German.
There is no need to reinstall the HID driver or K681GB-PRO-DE Setup V2.0 to fix Y/Z.

Removing the proprietary software does not remove the standard Windows HID driver.
If Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz do not work
First test the keyboard via USB.
- Set the switch to OFF.
- Connect the USB-C cable.
- Test typing.
If the keyboard works in wired mode:
- fully charge it;
- check the position of the mode switch;
- repeat the 2.4 GHz pairing process using FN + 4;
- remove the old Bluetooth pairing and create it again;
- try another USB port for the wireless receiver.
If wired mode works correctly, the problem is usually not related to the main Windows HID driver.
If the 2.4 GHz connection drops intermittently
- Fully charge the keyboard.
- Connect the USB receiver directly to the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub.
- Try another USB port.
- Move the keyboard closer to the receiver.
- Move the receiver away from sources of strong radio interference.
- If necessary, repeat the pairing process using FN + 4.
If Bluetooth disconnects intermittently
- Check the keyboard battery level.
- Make sure the correct Bluetooth profile is selected.
- Move the keyboard closer to the computer.
- Remove the old Bluetooth pairing and add the device again.
- Test the keyboard with another computer or another Bluetooth device.
If K681GB-PRO-DE works reliably over USB and 2.4 GHz but Bluetooth disconnects only on one computer, also check that computer’s Bluetooth adapter and its driver.
If one key does not work
K681GB-PRO-DE supports replaceable mechanical switches. Therefore, if one key stops working, you can first check the switch itself.
- Turn off the keyboard.
- Disconnect the USB-C cable.
- Remove the keycap from the problematic key.
- Carefully remove the switch using a suitable switch puller.
- Check the metal contacts on the switch.
- Install a known-good compatible switch.
- Turn on the keyboard and test it again.
If the problem moves with the switch, the switch is most likely faulty.
If the same position still does not work with a known-good switch, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket, PCB, or another hardware component.
If a key registers twice
If a single keypress sometimes enters two identical characters:
- Test the key in a standard text editor.
- Close K681GB-PRO-DE Setup V2.0 and repeat the test.
- Test the keyboard in wired mode.
- If the problem persists, turn off the keyboard.
- Replace the suspected switch with a known-good one.
- Repeat the test.
If the double input moves with the switch, the switch is faulty. If it remains in the same position, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket or PCB.
If the RGB lighting for one key does not work
If the key itself works but its lighting does not:
- switch between several RGB effects;
- increase the brightness using FN + ↑;
- check the custom RGB profile;
- check the settings in K681GB-PRO-DE Setup V2.0;
- perform a FN + ESC reset;
- test the keyboard after restarting it.
If the LED for one key position does not work in any mode but the key itself works correctly, the RGB LED may have a hardware fault. Replacing the mechanical switch usually does not fix this problem.
If Windows does not detect K681GB-PRO-DE at all
For troubleshooting, use wired mode:
- set the switch to OFF;
- connect the USB-C cable directly to the computer;
- try another USB port;
- do not use a USB hub;
- if possible, test another known-good USB-C cable that supports data transfer;
- restart Windows;
- test the keyboard on another computer.
If the device works on another computer, you can force Windows to detect the HID keyboard again.
Re-detecting the keyboard in Windows
- Connect K681GB-PRO-DE via USB.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- If several HID keyboards are listed, do not remove all of them.
- Disconnect K681GB-PRO-DE and identify which entry disappears.
- Reconnect the keyboard and make sure the corresponding entry appears again.
- Right-click the specifically identified device.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds.
- Connect it again.
Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID driver.
If K681GB-PRO-DE is not detected over USB even on another computer, installing different Redragon software will usually not help. In this case, check the USB-C cable, the connector, and the keyboard itself.
