Redragon K684 / K684WB-RGB-PRO EVA PRO is a compact wireless mechanical keyboard with a numeric keypad and three connection methods: USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth. A separate Redragon driver is not required for normal operation. After the keyboard is connected, Windows automatically uses the standard HID keyboard driver.

For advanced configuration, Redragon provides proprietary software. The verified official version was distributed as K684WB-RGB-PRO Setup V1.6.6. It is designed for remapping supported keys, creating macros, working with profiles, and advanced RGB lighting configuration.

Does the Redragon K684 need a driver?

A separate Redragon driver is not required for basic operation.

Windows automatically installs the necessary HID components after the keyboard is connected:

• via USB-C;
• through the included 2.4 GHz USB receiver;
• via Bluetooth.

If the keyboard types normally and the main keys work, there is no need to look for an additional system driver.

The Redragon software is an optional configuration utility and does not replace the standard Windows HID driver.

The software version is 1.6.6.

The filename on the official website may change over time. Therefore, use the page specifically for K684 / K684WB-RGB-PRO as your main reference rather than relying only on the exact EXE filename.

How to install the Redragon K684 software

For the initial installation and configuration, a wired USB connection is recommended.

1. Connect the K684 to the computer with a USB-C cable.
2. Make sure the keyboard types normally without the Redragon software.
3. Download the software from the official K684 page.
4. Close any Redragon software intended for other keyboards.
5. Run the installer.
6. Complete the installation.
7. Launch the Redragon software.
8. Check whether the keyboard is detected.

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning

The verified K684 Setup V1.6.6 installer does not have an Authenticode digital signature. Therefore, Windows 10 or Windows 11 may display a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning or an unknown publisher message.

If Windows displays “Windows protected your PC” and you are sure you are using the official file, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

Wired USB-C connection

Wired mode is convenient for initial testing, charging, and working with the Redragon software.

1. Set the main mode switch to OFF.
2. Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard.
3. Connect the other end of the cable directly to a USB port on the computer.
4. Wait a few seconds.
5. Open a text editor and test typing.

If the K684 works normally over USB, the standard Windows HID driver is installed correctly.

Connecting via 2.4 GHz

The included USB receiver is used for the 2.4 GHz wireless mode.

1. Set the keyboard switch to 2.4G.
2. Connect the included USB receiver directly to a USB port on the computer.
3. Wait a few seconds.
4. Test typing.

If the pairing information is saved, the keyboard usually connects automatically.

Re-pairing the 2.4 GHz connection

If the K684 works over USB or Bluetooth but no longer connects to the included receiver:

1. Make sure the keyboard has sufficient battery charge.
2. Set the switch to 2.4G.
3. Disconnect the USB receiver from the computer.
4. Press and hold FN + 4 for approximately 3 seconds.
5. Wait until the pairing indicator starts flashing rapidly.
6. Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
7. Place the keyboard close to the receiver.
8. Wait for the connection to complete.

Connecting the K684 via Bluetooth

The keyboard supports three Bluetooth profiles.

A short press switches between previously saved devices. To pair a new device, press and hold the selected shortcut for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator starts flashing rapidly.

In the list of Bluetooth devices, the K684 may appear as BT3.0 KEYBOARD or BT5.0 KEYBOARD.

Bluetooth in Windows 11

1. Set the keyboard switch to BT.
2. Press and hold FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for approximately 3 seconds.
3. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices.
4. Turn on Bluetooth.
5. Click Add device.
6. Select Bluetooth.
7. Select the keyboard from the list of detected devices.
8. Wait for pairing to complete.

Bluetooth in Windows 10

1. Set the keyboard switch to BT.
2. Press and hold FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for approximately 3 seconds.
3. Open Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices.
4. Turn on Bluetooth.
5. Click Add Bluetooth or other device.
6. Select Bluetooth.
7. Select the keyboard from the list.
8. Complete the pairing process.

Switching between Bluetooth devices

After the initial pairing, use:

• FN + 1 — first device;
• FN + 2 — second device;
• FN + 3 — third device.

For normal switching, a short press is sufficient. Pressing and holding starts a new pairing process.

If Bluetooth no longer connects

If the keyboard remains in the list of saved Windows devices but no longer connects, remove the old pairing and create it again.

Windows 11

1. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices.
2. Find the K684.
3. Open the device menu and select Remove device.
4. Set the keyboard to BT mode.
5. Press and hold the required shortcut: FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3.
6. Add the keyboard again.

Windows 10

1. Open Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices.
2. Select the K684.
3. Click Remove device.
4. Start a new pairing mode on the keyboard.
5. Select Add Bluetooth or other device → Bluetooth.
6. Add the keyboard again.

Removing the Bluetooth pairing does not remove the standard Windows HID driver and does not affect the 2.4 GHz mode.

Controlling RGB lighting without software

The Redragon software is not required to use the main built-in effects.

The K684 supports several built-in static and dynamic effects. The Redragon software is not required for normal use of these effects.

Custom RGB lighting without software

The K684 allows you to create your own lighting layout directly from the keyboard.

Use:

FN + M

1. Press FN + M to enter custom mode.
2. Configure the required keys.
3. To select a color, use the available color-switching function for the selected key.
4. When finished, press FN + M again to save the custom lighting.

To return to the normal built-in effects, use FN + B.

For more advanced configuration, you can use the K684 software.

If WASD keys work as arrow keys

On the K684, the shortcut:

FN + W

swaps the functions of the WASD keys and the arrow keys.

If W, A, S, and D start moving the cursor like arrow keys after an accidental key press:

1. Press FN + W again.
2. Open a text editor.
3. Check the W, A, S, and D keys.

Switching between Windows and macOS

The K684 uses a separate WIN/MAC hardware switch to select the operating system.

When using Windows, set it to:

When using macOS, select:

MAC

Multimedia functions in Windows

In WIN mode, additional commands are available using the FN key.

Locking the Windows key

To prevent an accidental press of the Windows key from minimizing a game, use:

FN + Win

Pressing the shortcut again restores normal operation of the Windows key.

How to check the battery level

To display the approximate battery level, use:

FN + right Shift

After pressing the shortcut, the battery level is displayed using the lighting of the number row.

If the battery level is low, connect the keyboard with a USB-C cable.

Sleep mode

When operating wirelessly, the K684 automatically reduces power consumption after a period of inactivity.

• after approximately 3 minutes of inactivity, the lighting may turn off;
• after approximately 30 minutes, the keyboard enters a deeper sleep mode.

To wake the keyboard, press any key and wait for the wireless connection to be restored.

Resetting the K684 to factory settings

If the keyboard does not work correctly after configuring macros, RGB lighting, or wireless connections, you can perform a hardware reset.

Press and hold:

FN + ESC

Hold the shortcut for approximately 3 seconds.

After the reset, first test the keyboard without the Redragon software.

What the K684 V1.6.6 software is used for

The Redragon software is intended for advanced configuration.

The supported functions available through the software include:

• key remapping;
• macro creation;
• profile management;
• advanced RGB lighting configuration.

The software is not required for normal connection via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, or Bluetooth.

Creating macros

1. Connect the K684 to the computer via USB-C.
2. Launch the Redragon software.
3. Open the macro management section.
4. Create a new macro.
5. Record the required key sequence.
6. If necessary, configure the available delays.
7. Save the macro.
8. Assign it to a supported key.
9. Apply the changes.
10. Test the result.

If the Redragon software does not detect the K684

If the keyboard works but the Redragon software does not detect the device:

1. Make sure that the installed software is specifically for the K684 / K684WB-RGB-PRO.
2. Set the main switch to OFF.
3. Connect the keyboard directly to the computer with a USB-C cable.
4. Do not use a USB hub or docking station.
5. Try another USB port.
6. Close other Redragon software.
7. Close the K684 software and launch it again.
8. If necessary, restart Windows.

If software for another Redragon model is installed

Before installing the correct software, it is recommended to remove the incompatible program.

Windows 11

1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
2. Find the Redragon software for the other model.
3. Open the menu next to its name.
4. Select Uninstall.
5. Complete the uninstallation.
6. Restart Windows.
7. Test the K684 over USB without the Redragon software.
8. Install the correct software for the K684.

Windows 10

1. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
2. Find the incorrect Redragon software.
3. Select it and click Uninstall.
4. Complete the uninstallation.
5. Restart Windows.
6. Test the K684 without the Redragon software.

Removing the Redragon software does not remove the standard Windows HID driver.

If Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz do not work

First test the keyboard in wired mode.

1. Set the switch to OFF.
2. Connect the USB-C cable.
3. Test typing.

If the K684 works over USB:

1. fully charge the keyboard;
2. check the position of the mode switch;
3. repeat the 2.4 GHz pairing process using FN + 4;
4. remove old Bluetooth pairings and create them again;
5. try another USB port for the receiver.

If wired mode works, the problem is usually not related to the basic Windows HID driver.

If the 2.4 GHz connection drops intermittently

1. Fully charge the keyboard.
2. Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
3. Do not use a USB hub.
4. Try another USB port.
5. Move the keyboard closer to the receiver.
6. Move the receiver away from sources of strong radio interference.
7. If necessary, repeat the pairing process using FN + 4.

If Bluetooth disconnects intermittently

1. Check the keyboard battery level.
2. Make sure the correct Bluetooth profile is selected.
3. Move the K684 closer to the computer.
4. Remove the old pairing and add the device again.
5. Test the keyboard with another computer or Bluetooth device.

If the K684 works reliably over USB and 2.4 GHz but Bluetooth disconnects only on one computer, also check that computer’s Bluetooth adapter and its driver.

If Windows does not detect the K684 at all

Use a wired connection for troubleshooting.

1. Set the switch to OFF.
2. Connect the USB-C cable directly to the computer.
3. Try another USB port.
4. Do not use a USB hub.
5. If possible, test another known-good USB-C cable that supports data transfer.
6. Restart Windows.
7. Test the keyboard on another computer.

If the K684 works on another computer, you can force Windows to detect the HID device again.

Re-detecting the keyboard in Windows

1. Connect the K684 via USB.
2. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
3. Expand Keyboards.
4. If several HID keyboards are listed, do not remove all of them.
5. Disconnect the K684 and identify which entry disappears.
6. Reconnect the keyboard and make sure the corresponding entry appears again.
7. Right-click the specifically identified device.
8. Select Uninstall device.
9. Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds.
10. Connect it again.

Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID driver.

If the K684 is not detected over USB even on another computer, installing different Redragon software will usually not help. In this case, check the USB-C cable, the connector, and the keyboard itself.
