Last Updated on 09.04.2026 by DriverNew

Suitable for: Pantum M6200 / M6500 / M6550 / M6600 series models with Wi-Fi. For example: M6507W, M6500W, M6506NW, M6550W, M6550NW, M6552NW, M6557NW.

This guide is suitable when Windows cannot find the printer over Wi-Fi, the driver installation does not finish, the device disappears from the network, or wireless printing stops working after the initial setup.

The most important thing before you begin

For this Pantum series, one detail matters a lot: during Wi-Fi setup, the printer works only with a 2.4 GHz network. If the router broadcasts only 5 GHz or the computer is connected to the wrong network, the setup may not complete.

When this guide applies

  • Your model has the letter W or NW in its name.
  • The printer cannot be found in the installer.
  • Windows detects the printer inconsistently.
  • Wi-Fi installation starts but does not finish.
  • The printer used to work and then stopped printing over wireless.

Step 1. Make sure it really is a Wi-Fi model

If the box, sticker, or model name includes W or NW, the model supports wireless connection. If it is a regular USB-only model without Wi-Fi, use the article about USB connection and driver reinstallation.

Step 2. Check the network your computer is connected to

  1. Connect the computer to your home or office router.
  2. Make sure the computer is connected specifically to the 2.4 GHz network if your router separates the bands.
  3. During setup, temporarily disable VPN, mobile hotspot, and any extra network adapters if they are present.

The simpler the network environment during the initial setup, the lower the risk that the installer will choose the wrong interface.

Step 3. Move the printer closer to the router

If the printer is far from the router, behind a thick wall, or near sources of interference, the setup may fail. For the initial installation, it is better to place the printer closer to both the router and the computer.

Step 4. The most reliable method is initial Wi-Fi setup via USB

For this series, the clearest and most stable method is to temporarily connect the printer to the computer via USB first and then transfer the Wi-Fi settings through the driver installer.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Connect it to the computer via USB.
  3. Turn on the printer.
  4. Run the driver installation file.
  5. Select the Wi-Fi installation option.
  6. If the program offers Wi-Fi setup via USB cable, choose that option.

If the installer detects several printers, select the one that is currently connected to the computer via USB.

Step 5. Enter the correct network settings

  • Select your main Wi-Fi network.
  • Check the network name carefully.
  • Enter the password without mistakes.
  • Do not connect the printer to a guest network if your main computer will be used for printing later.

After the setup is complete, give the printer 1–2 minutes to connect fully to the network.

Step 6. If you want to use WPS

WPS is convenient if you are sure this function is enabled on your router.

  1. Press the WPS button on the router.
  2. On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button for more than 2 seconds.
  3. Wait for the connection to complete.

If the printer still does not appear on the network afterward, return to USB setup. For most users, this method is more reliable.

Step 7. If the printer used to work over Wi-Fi but Windows can no longer see it

  1. Restart the router.
  2. Restart the printer.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Open the list of printers in Windows and remove the old Pantum instance if it is marked with an error or is not responding.
  5. Run the driver installer again.
  6. Add the printer again.

Step 8. If the printer is connected to Wi-Fi but still does not print

In this case, the problem may no longer be with the network itself, but with Windows or the driver. Check the following in order:

  • whether the print queue opens;
  • whether old jobs are stuck there;
  • whether Windows has created several identical Pantum printers;
  • whether an old offline printer is selected instead of the new network printer.

If scanning or network connection works but printing does not, also use the article about printing in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Step 9. When it is better to temporarily return to USB

If you need to print urgently and Wi-Fi still cannot be configured, connect the printer via USB and finish the job. After that, you can calmly set up the wireless connection again.

This is especially useful in these cases:

  • the router was recently replaced;
  • the network name or password changed;
  • the installer failed to complete the setup several times;
  • the computer detects the printer inconsistently.

Common reasons why Wi-Fi does not work

  • the computer is connected to the wrong network;
  • 5 GHz is being used instead of 2.4 GHz;
  • the initial setup is being attempted without USB, even though USB is more reliable for the first setup;
  • an old printer instance remains in Windows;
  • the router was restarted, but the printer did not reconnect automatically.

When to contact service

  • Wi-Fi cannot be enabled on the printer.
  • The printer cannot see the network even when placed near the router.
  • After several USB setup attempts, the Wi-Fi connection still does not appear.
  • A red error indicator is lit on the panel and the device does not return to normal mode.

Quick summary

For Pantum M6200 / M6500 / M6550 / M6600 series models with Wi-Fi, the most reliable path is:

  1. connect the computer to a 2.4 GHz network;
  2. temporarily connect the printer via USB;
  3. run the driver installer;
  4. choose Wi-Fi installation with settings transferred over USB;
  5. remove old printer instances from Windows;
  6. check printing after the installation is complete.

In most cases, this is enough to configure the printer without complex network diagnostics.
