Redragon K517RGB-PRO SHIVA PRO is a 94-key wireless gaming keyboard with three connection methods: USB-C cable, 2.4 GHz receiver, and Bluetooth. A separate Redragon system driver is not required for normal operation: Windows automatically uses standard HID drivers.
The proprietary Redragon software is required for additional keyboard settings. In addition, the K517RGB-PRO has four dedicated G1–G4 macro keys, built-in RGB lighting, and a Windows/Mac switch.
Is the K517RGB-PRO a membrane or mechanical keyboard?
Despite its gaming designation and mechanical-like key feel, the K517RGB-PRO uses a membrane design with responsive switches. Therefore, it is more accurate to consider it a membrane gaming keyboard with mechanical-like key travel.
This is important, for example, when searching for replacement components or comparing it with mechanical Redragon models.
Is a separate driver required?
A separate Redragon driver is not required for normal text input.
- Connect the keyboard via USB-C, the 2.4 GHz receiver, or Bluetooth.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Open any text editor.
- Test letters, numbers, Enter, Backspace, Space, and other main keys.
If the keyboard types normally, the standard Windows HID driver is already installed and working.
There is no need to search for a universal K517RGB-PRO driver or use third-party automatic driver update utilities.
Official Redragon K517RGB-PRO software
This model uses software version 1.0.4.4.
Two file names appear on official pages:
Redragon_K517RGB-PRO_GAMING_KEYBOARD_setup_1.0.4.4.exe
and:
Redragon_K517RGB-PRO_Software.exe
Testing showed that these two files are completely identical. They are the same official version 1.0.4.4 installer under different names.
Redragon_K517RGB-PRO_Software.exe file is downloaded from the official page, there is no need to search separately for the longer installer name. The contents of the verified files are identical.Where to download the software
Use the official Redragon software catalog:
Find Redragon K517RGB-PRO Gaming Keyboard in the list.
Do not select the separately listed K517 Wired Gaming Keyboard — it is a different model.
Installer digital signature
The verified installer has a digital signature. In the Windows file properties, the publisher may appear not as Redragon, but as:
SHENZHEN SHINETEK TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD
This is normal for the verified official installer.
If Windows displays a security warning, do not disable Microsoft Defender or SmartScreen. First make sure that the file was downloaded from the official page and is specifically intended for the K517RGB-PRO.
Three connection methods
| Mode | How it is used | Details |
|---|---|---|
| USB-C | Wired operation and charging | Best mode for initial troubleshooting and software configuration. |
| 2.4 GHz | Included USB receiver | If the connection is lost, you can pair the keyboard again using Fn + 4. |
| Bluetooth | Up to three saved devices | Profiles are selected using Fn + 1, Fn + 2, and Fn + 3. |
How to connect the K517RGB-PRO via USB-C
- Move the 2.4G/OFF/BT switch to the OFF position.
- Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard.
- Connect the other end of the cable directly to the computer.
- Wait for Windows to automatically detect the device.
- Test text input.
Wired mode is recommended when installing the software for the first time, configuring macros, and troubleshooting unclear problems.
Connecting via 2.4 GHz
- Move the switch to the 2.4G position.
- Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Test the keyboard.
If the receiver and keyboard are already paired, the connection is established automatically.
Pairing 2.4 GHz again
If Windows responds when the USB receiver is connected but the keyboard does not work, pair the devices again.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Disconnect the USB receiver from the computer. |
| 2 | Move the switch to the 2.4G position. |
| 3 | Hold Fn + 4 for about 3 seconds. |
| 4 | After entering pairing mode, connect the USB receiver to the computer. |
| 5 | Wait until the indicator stops flashing and the connection is established. |
If 2.4 GHz still does not work
- Fully charge the keyboard.
- Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub for testing.
- Try another USB port.
- Repeat pairing using Fn + 4.
- Test operation via USB-C.
- Test Bluetooth.
If USB and Bluetooth work but 2.4 GHz does not, the problem no longer appears to be a malfunction of the standard Windows HID driver.
Bluetooth: three saved devices
| Profile | Key combination | Indicator color during pairing |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth 1 | Fn + 1 | Blue |
| Bluetooth 2 | Fn + 2 | Light blue / cyan |

How to perform initial Bluetooth pairing
- Move the switch to the BT position.
- Select the BT1, BT2, or BT3 profile.
- Hold the corresponding Fn + 1, Fn + 2, or Fn + 3 combination for about 3 seconds.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the computer.
- Start searching for a new device.
- Select the keyboard from the list.
It may appear as:
- BT3.0 Keyboard;
- BT5.0 Keyboard.
After a successful connection, the indicator stops flashing rapidly.
How to switch between Bluetooth devices
After initial pairing, you no longer need to hold the key combination.
| Key combination | Action |
|---|---|
| Fn + 1 | Switch to BT1. |
| Fn + 2 | Switch to BT2. |
| Fn + 3 | Switch to BT3. |
Bluetooth does not connect
If the computer does not detect the keyboard:
- Make sure the switch is set to BT.
- Select the required profile.
- Hold Fn+1, Fn+2, or Fn+3 for about 3 seconds instead of pressing it briefly.
- If the profile was previously used with another computer, remove the old pairing from Windows settings.
- Search for a Bluetooth device again.
- If necessary, try another BT1/BT2/BT3 profile.
Bluetooth works, but Redragon Software does not detect the keyboard
If the keyboard types normally over Bluetooth but the proprietary software reports that the device was not found, switch to a wired connection for configuration.
- Close Redragon Software.
- Move the switch to the OFF position.
- Connect the USB-C cable.
- Test text input.
- Launch Redragon Software again.
For software troubleshooting, wired mode is preferable to Bluetooth.

G1–G4 and built-in macro recording
The K517RGB-PRO has four dedicated G1–G4 keys and allows you to record simple macros directly from the keyboard.
How to record a macro
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Connect the keyboard via USB. |
| 2 | Press Rec. The indicators will begin flashing slowly. |
| 3 | Press G1, G2, G3, or G4. |
| 4 | Enter the required key sequence. Up to 25 keystrokes are supported. |
| 5 | Press Rec again to save the recording. |
| 6 | To play it back, press the corresponding G1–G4 key. |
Key combinations intended for lighting control are not included in a normal macro recording.
How to delete one macro
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Press Rec. |
| 2 | Press the G key whose macro you want to delete. |
| 3 | Press Rec again to confirm. |
How to delete all recorded macros
| Key combination | Action |
|---|---|
| Fn + Rec, hold for about 5 seconds | Delete all hardware-recorded G1–G4 macros. |
If G1–G4 perform incorrect actions
A previously recorded macro is often the cause.
- Connect the keyboard via USB.
- Delete the specific macro or all saved macros.
- Test the G1–G4 keys again.
- If software remapping is being used, also check Redragon Software.
Factory reset
| Key combination | Function |
|---|---|
| Fn + Esc, hold for about 3 seconds | Restore the keyboard to factory settings. |
A reset is worth trying if the keyboard starts performing unexpected actions after macros or other changes.
Windows / Mac switch
The K517RGB-PRO has a separate WIN/MAC switch on the keyboard.
If multimedia and system keys suddenly start behaving differently in Windows, first check the position of this switch.
Windows key lock
| Key combination | Function |
|---|---|
| Fn + Win | Lock or unlock the Windows key. |
If the Windows key suddenly stops opening the Start menu, first press Fn+Win again.
Controlling RGB without the software
The K517RGB-PRO has 8 built-in RGB modes and several brightness and speed levels.
| Key combination | Function |
|---|---|
| Fn + ↑ / ↓ | Increase or decrease brightness. |
| Fn + ← / → | Change the speed of the dynamic effect. |
Switching between built-in effects and colors is also available directly from the keyboard using the lighting keys marked on the specific layout. Because the markings differ between regional versions, refer to the symbols on your keyboard.
RGB stopped working
Check:
- whether the brightness has been reduced to the minimum level;
- whether the battery has sufficient charge;
- whether the lighting works when USB-C is connected;
- whether the problem disappears after a factory reset.
When the battery charge is low, the K517RGB-PRO may automatically turn off RGB to save power.
The keyboard turns off the lighting automatically
In wireless mode, this is normal power-saving behavior.
| Inactivity period | What happens |
|---|---|
| About 3 minutes | RGB lighting turns off to save battery power. |
| About 30 minutes | The keyboard enters a deeper sleep mode. |
Press any key to wake the keyboard.
Low battery indication and charging
When the battery is low:
- RGB lighting may turn off;
- the power indicator begins flashing red slowly.
During charging, the indicator lights red. When charging is complete, the red indicator turns off.
To charge the keyboard, connect it with a USB-C cable to a computer or a suitable USB power source.
The keyboard battery drains quickly
RGB lighting significantly increases power consumption. If battery life seems too short:
- Fully charge the battery.
- Temporarily turn off RGB.
- Use one wireless mode.
- Compare battery life with the lighting on and off.
- Try another USB cable for charging.
- Try another USB port.
If a new keyboard loses charge quickly even with the lighting turned off, do not disassemble it unnecessarily — first check the warranty service options.
The keyboard does not reconnect after sleep
If pressing a key normally does not restore the connection:
- Move the switch to another position and then return it to the required mode.
- Check the battery charge.
- For 2.4 GHz, reconnect the USB receiver.
- For Bluetooth, select the required Fn+1/2/3 profile.
- If this does not help, test wired USB-C mode.
Keys work incorrectly after configuration
If the problem appeared after using Redragon Software or macros:
- Connect the keyboard via USB.
- Check the G1–G4 macros.
- Delete the problematic macro.
- Check software assignments in Redragon Software.
- Check the WIN/MAC switch position.
- If necessary, hold Fn + Esc for about 3 seconds.
Some system keys perform the wrong commands
Before reinstalling the software, check two settings:
- the position of the WIN/MAC switch;
- the Windows key lock using Fn + Win.
These settings can often be mistaken for a driver problem, although reinstalling the Windows device will not change anything.
How to check the keyboard in Windows 11
- Right-click the Start button.
- Select Device Manager.
- Check the Keyboards section.
- Check Human Interface Devices.
- If you are having a Bluetooth problem, also check the Bluetooth section.
The K517RGB-PRO may appear under a standard HID keyboard name. The absence of the word Redragon in the name does not mean that the driver is installed incorrectly.
How to check the keyboard in Windows 10
- Right-click the Start button.
- Open Device Manager.
- Check the Keyboards and Human Interface Devices sections.
- When using Bluetooth, also check the Bluetooth section.
A yellow warning icon appeared in Device Manager
If you have determined that the error is specifically related to the K517RGB-PRO:
- Disconnect the keyboard.
- Open Device Manager.
- Find the related device with the warning icon.
- Right-click it.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Restart the computer.
- Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
- Wait for Windows to automatically detect it again.
Do not install software or firmware from another model
If the software does not detect the K517RGB-PRO or wireless mode does not work, do not install Software or firmware from the K517-RGB, K521, K530, or another similar keyboard.
First check:
- the correct connection mode;
- the official version 1.0.4.4 software;
- the USB port;
- operation via USB-C;
- 2.4 GHz re-pairing;
- the Bluetooth profile;
- factory reset.
If the keyboard does not work at all
Start troubleshooting with wired mode.
- Move the switch to the OFF position.
- Connect the USB-C cable.
- Try another USB port.
- Try another known-good cable that supports data transfer.
- Allow the battery to charge.
- Restart the computer.
- Test the keyboard on another computer.
If the keyboard works over USB, troubleshoot Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz separately.
If the device is not detected even over USB on another computer, installing another version of Redragon Software usually will not resolve such a hardware problem.
Can the K517RGB-PRO be used without Redragon software?
Yes. The proprietary software is not required for normal text input and most built-in functions.
The keyboard works via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth using standard operating system features. Hardware G1–G4 macros, RGB settings, Windows/Mac switching, Windows key lock, and factory reset are also available without the software.
Redragon Software version 1.0.4.4 is worth installing when additional software-based configuration of keys, macros, and lighting is required.
