Redragon K688GB-RGB-PRO BRAGI PRO: driver, software, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz in Windows 11/10

Last Updated on 18.09.2026 by DriverNew

Redragon K688GB-RGB-PRO BRAGI PRO is a 98-key mechanical gaming keyboard with three connection methods: via USB-C cable, through a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver, and via Bluetooth. A separate Redragon system driver is not required for normal use: Windows automatically uses standard HID drivers.

The proprietary Redragon program is required for additional features, including programming supported keys, creating macros, and advanced RGB lighting configuration.

Important: this guide is intended specifically for Redragon K688GB-RGB-PRO BRAGI PRO. Before installing the program, check the full model designation on the keyboard label. Do not install software or firmware for K688SP-RGB-PRO, other K688 models, or visually similar keyboards just because their names are similar.

Does Redragon K688GB-RGB-PRO need a driver?

A special Redragon system driver is not required for normal operation.

  1. Connect the keyboard to the computer via USB-C, through the 2.4 GHz receiver, or via Bluetooth.
  2. Wait a few seconds while Windows detects the device.
  3. Open any text editor.
  4. Test letters, numbers, Space, Enter, Backspace, and the numeric keypad.

If the keyboard types, the standard Windows HID driver is already working.

There is no need to look for a separate universal K688GB driver or use automatic driver update programs.

The driver and Redragon program are different components

The standard Windows HID driver provides basic keyboard operation.

Redragon Software is an additional program for configuring functions supported by K688GB-RGB-PRO: key reassignment, macros, and RGB settings.

If you are satisfied with the factory settings, installing the proprietary program is optional.

Three connection methods

Mode Switch position Features
USB-C OFF Wired operation, charging, and configuration through Redragon Software.
2.4 GHz 2.4G Operation through the included USB receiver; the Redragon program can also be used in this mode.
Bluetooth BT Up to three saved Bluetooth profiles. To use Redragon Software, switch to USB or 2.4 GHz.

How to connect K688GB-RGB-PRO via USB-C

  1. Move the 2.4G/OFF/BT switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the computer.
  4. Wait for Windows to automatically detect the device.
  5. Test text input.

Wired mode works on a Plug & Play basis. There is no need to install the Redragon program first.

How to connect the keyboard via 2.4 GHz

If the keyboard and included receiver are already paired:

  1. Move the switch to 2.4G.
  2. Connect the USB receiver to the computer.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Test the keyboard.

If the connection is not established, perform the pairing procedure again.

Re-pairing 2.4 GHz

Action What to do
Switch to 2.4 GHz mode Move the switch to 2.4G.
Start pairing Hold Fn + 4 for about 3 seconds.
Indicator The M indicator should begin flashing white.
Connect the receiver Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
Successful pairing After the connection is established, the M indicator should remain steadily lit.
Use Fn + 4 for this model. You may find recommendations online to use Fn + R because that key combination is used on some other Redragon keyboards. For K688GB-RGB-PRO, the manual specifically indicates Fn + 4.

If 2.4 GHz does not work

Users sometimes encounter a situation where wired mode and Bluetooth work, Windows detects the USB receiver, but the keyboard does not connect to it.

Check the problem step by step:

  1. Make sure the switch is set to 2.4G.
  2. Fully charge the keyboard.
  3. Connect the receiver directly to a USB port on the computer, not to a USB hub.
  4. Try another USB port.
  5. Repeat pairing using Fn + 4.
  6. Check whether the keyboard works via USB-C.
  7. Check Bluetooth.

If USB and Bluetooth work, but the M indicator does not enter pairing mode at all when using Fn + 4, do not randomly install firmware for another K688. In this situation, it is better to preserve the working connection modes and consider a fault or loss of connection with the original receiver separately.

How to connect Bluetooth

K688GB-RGB-PRO can save three Bluetooth devices.

Profile Key combination Indicator during pairing
Bluetooth 1 Fn + 1 Blue
Bluetooth 2 Fn + 2 Red
Bluetooth 3 Fn + 3 Green

For initial pairing:

  1. Move the switch to BT.
  2. Select one of the profiles.
  3. Hold the corresponding combination Fn + 1, Fn + 2, or Fn + 3 for about 3 seconds.
  4. Open Bluetooth settings on the computer.
  5. Find the keyboard in the list of available devices.
  6. Select it and complete pairing.

In the Bluetooth list, the device may appear as BT3.0 Keyboard or BT5.0 Keyboard.

How to switch between Bluetooth devices

If the devices have already been paired, briefly press the corresponding combination:

Key combination Action
Fn + 1 Switch to Bluetooth 1
Fn + 2 Switch to Bluetooth 2
Fn + 3 Switch to Bluetooth 3

Bluetooth works, but the Redragon program does not detect the keyboard

This is not necessarily a malfunction.

The proprietary Redragon software is intended for device configuration via wired connection or 2.4 GHz. Bluetooth is not used for the configuration program.

If the keyboard works normally via Bluetooth but the program reports that the device was not found:

  1. Close Redragon Software.
  2. Switch to USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Test normal text input.
  5. Launch the program again.

Do not remove a working Bluetooth driver just because the Redragon program does not detect the keyboard in Bluetooth mode.

Official Redragon K688GB-RGB-PRO software

This model uses program version 2.0.

Two file names appear in official Redragon sections:

Redragon_K688-RGB-PRO_Setup_v2.0_20240715.exe

and:

Redragon_K688-RGB-PRO_Software.exe

Verification showed that these two files are completely identical. They are the same official program build.

The date in the full installer name is 15.07.2024.

If the official page downloads the shorter file name Redragon_K688-RGB-PRO_Software.exe, there is no need to separately look for the older long file name. The verified files are identical.

Where to download the program

Use the official Redragon catalog:

Redragon software

In the list, select specifically Redragon K688GB-RGB-PRO Gaming Keyboard.

Do not select K688SP-RGB-PRO or another similar model.

What the program is used for

Officially supported K688GB-RGB-PRO features include:

  • Macro Editor for creating macros;

  7. Complete the installation.
  8. Launch Redragon Software while the keyboard is connected.

Windows shows a warning when launching the EXE file

The verified installer may not appear in Windows as a program with a standard digital signature from a verified publisher. Therefore, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen or another Windows protection feature may display an additional warning.

Do not disable Microsoft Defender, SmartScreen, or antivirus protection just to install the program.

Instead:

  1. check that the file was downloaded from the official Redragon website;
  2. check the K688GB-RGB-PRO designation;
  3. do not run installers from unknown websites;
  4. do not install software for another K688 model to bypass the warning.

The program shows Device not detected

If the keyboard works but the Redragon program does not detect it:

  1. If Bluetooth is being used, switch to USB-C or 2.4 GHz.
  2. Close the program.
  3. Wait for Windows to detect the keyboard in the new mode.
  4. Test normal text input.
  5. Launch the program again.

If the problem persists:

  1. Connect the keyboard directly to the computer with the cable.
  2. Do not use a USB hub or docking station.
  3. Close Redragon programs for other devices.
  4. Check that the package for K688GB-RGB-PRO is installed, not K688SP or another K688 model.
  5. Restart Redragon Software.

If the program stopped working after installing other Redragon software

Users sometimes try installing software for other K688 variants or similar keyboards when they cannot immediately find the correct software.

This is not recommended for K688GB-RGB-PRO.

If the wrong program has already been installed:

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  2. Find the incorrect Redragon program.
  3. Click the three-dot button.
  4. Select Uninstall.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Connect K688GB-RGB-PRO via USB.
  7. Check normal keyboard operation.
  8. Install the correct version 2.0 program.

Windows 10

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
  2. Find the incorrect Redragon program.
  3. Select it and click Uninstall.
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Install the official K688GB-RGB-PRO package.

Do not install firmware for another K688

Especially important: if 2.4 GHz mode or Bluetooth stops working, do not install firmware for another revision or another K688 model just to experiment.

Firmware interacts with the device at a lower level than ordinary configuration software. An incompatible version may cause loss of some functions or incorrect keyboard detection.

First use:

  • the correct connection mode;
  • official pairing using Fn + 4;
  • factory reset;
  • USB testing;
  • the official K688GB-RGB-PRO program.

How to restore factory settings

K688GB-RGB-PRO supports a hardware reset.

Key combination Action
Fn + Esc, hold for about 3 seconds Restore the keyboard to factory settings.

A reset is useful to try if incorrect key assignments, unusual lighting behavior, or other software-related problems appear after changing settings.

Resetting the settings and installing firmware are different actions. For normal recovery, use Fn + Esc first.

Controlling RGB without the program

The main lighting settings can be changed directly from the keyboard.

Key combination Function
Fn + Ins Switch between 16 lighting effects.
Fn + ← / → Change the speed of the lighting effect.
Fn + ↑ / ↓ Change the lighting brightness.
Fn + PgUp Change the color for supported effects.
Fn + пробел Turn the lighting on or off.

Therefore, installing Redragon Software is not required to use the main RGB effects.

Custom RGB lighting

K688GB-RGB-PRO has a mode for configuring the lighting manually.

Stage Action
Enter DIY mode Press Fn + Backspace.
Start recording Press Fn + Backspace again.
Configure keys Select the required keys and available colors.
Save After finishing, press Fn + Backspace again.

Knob controls

K688GB-RGB-PRO has a multifunction knob.

Action Function
Turn clockwise Increase volume.
Turn counterclockwise Decrease volume.
Press the knob Mute or unmute sound.
Fn + регулятор Switch to lighting control.

How to check the battery level

Key combination Function
Fn + Del Display the battery level.

When the battery level becomes low, the lighting may turn off and the indicator begins signaling that charging is required.

To charge the keyboard, connect it with a USB-C cable.

The battery drains quickly or the charge percentage changes suddenly

K688 users sometimes report rapid changes in the displayed battery level, especially when RGB lighting is enabled. There are also reports where the reading changes noticeably after restarting the keyboard.

This may be related either to actual battery consumption or to inaccurate battery-level reporting.

To check:

  1. Fully charge the keyboard via USB-C.
  2. Check the level using Fn + Del.
  3. Temporarily turn off RGB lighting.
  4. Use the keyboard in one wireless mode and observe its behavior.
  5. Restart the keyboard and check the indicator again.
  6. Try another USB cable and another charging port.

RGB significantly increases power consumption, so battery life with the lighting enabled is substantially shorter.

If a new keyboard quickly drops to 0–1% and does not hold a charge, do not disassemble it immediately. First rule out the cable and USB port, fully charge the device, and check the warranty. Disassembling a new keyboard may complicate warranty service.

The keyboard turns off the lighting by itself

This is not necessarily a malfunction.

Power saving is provided in wireless mode:

  • after approximately 3 minutes of inactivity, the lighting turns off;
  • after approximately 30 minutes, the keyboard enters a deeper sleep mode;
  • press any key to wake it.

If operation resumes immediately after a key is pressed, this behavior is consistent with power-saving mode.

Key presses are missed or incorrect characters are entered

Users sometimes report missed key presses, brief periods of no response, or incorrect input. The cause may be either the wireless connection or software assignments.

Check the problem step by step:

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  2. Test input in a normal text editor.
  3. If the problem disappears, check 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth separately.
  4. If macros or reassigned keys are being used, temporarily restore the default settings.
  5. Perform a factory reset with Fn + Esc for about 3 seconds.
  6. Test the keyboard on another computer.

This helps distinguish a physical key problem from a wireless connection or software configuration issue.

Wireless modes stopped working after installing the program

User discussions include cases where wireless modes stopped working after installing or experimenting with software, while USB continued to work.

If this happens:

  1. Do not install additional software or firmware for other K688 models.
  2. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  3. Uninstall unsuitable software if it was installed.
  4. Perform a factory reset with Fn + Esc.
  5. Check Bluetooth.
  6. Repeat 2.4 GHz pairing using Fn + 4.
  7. Install only the official K688GB-RGB-PRO version 2.0 package if the program is actually needed.

If USB works after this but both wireless modes are unavailable, do not try to fix the device with random firmware.

How to check the keyboard in Windows 11

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Check Keyboards.
  4. Also check Human Interface Devices.
  5. For Bluetooth, also check Bluetooth.

The keyboard may appear under a standard system HID device name. The absence of the word Redragon in the name is not an error by itself.

How to check the keyboard in Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Check Keyboards and Human Interface Devices.
  4. If there is a Bluetooth problem, check Bluetooth.

If the keyboard types and there are no warning icons, an additional system driver is usually not required.

A yellow icon appears in Device Manager

If you have determined that the error belongs specifically to K688GB-RGB-PRO:

  1. Disconnect the keyboard.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Find the related device with the warning icon.
  4. Right-click it.
  5. Select Uninstall device.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  8. Wait for Windows to detect it again.
Do not uninstall random HID, USB, or Bluetooth devices. The system may contain a mouse, Bluetooth adapter, USB receiver, keyboard multimedia functions, and other components at the same time. Remove an entry only after you have determined that it is associated with K688GB-RGB-PRO.

If the keyboard does not work at all

For troubleshooting, first use wired mode.

  1. Move the switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the keyboard with a USB-C cable.
  3. Try another USB port on the computer.
  4. Try another known-good USB cable that supports data transfer.
  5. Allow the keyboard to charge.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Test the device on another computer.

If the keyboard works over USB, troubleshoot Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz separately.

If K688GB-RGB-PRO is not detected even via USB on another computer, installing another version of Redragon Software usually does not solve this problem.

Can K688GB-RGB-PRO be used without the Redragon program?

Yes. The proprietary program is not required for normal use.

The keyboard works via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth using standard operating system features. Built-in RGB effects, brightness and speed adjustment, custom lighting, volume control, and factory reset are also available without the program.

Redragon Software version 2.0 is worth installing when you need Macro Editor, supported key reassignment, or additional software-based RGB settings.
