Redragon K708-RGB-PRO FLEKACT PRO: driver, software, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, display, and RGB lighting

Redragon K708-RGB-PRO FLEKACT PRO is a 75% wireless mechanical keyboard with USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in display, and RGB lighting. A separate proprietary Redragon driver is not required for normal operation. After connection, Windows automatically uses the standard HID keyboard driver.

For advanced configuration, a separate Redragon K708-RGB-PRO program is available. It is designed for remapping supported keys, creating macros, working with profiles, and additional RGB settings. You do not need to install the program for the initial connection or normal text input.

Important: K708-RGB-PRO, K708MC-RGB-PRO, K708AK-RGB-PRO, K708GF-RGB-PRO, K708WLB-RGB-PRO, and K708GG-RGB-PRO belong to the same family, but Redragon provides separate installers for them. For K708-RGB-PRO, use the software specifically intended for this model.

Does Redragon K708-RGB-PRO need a driver?

A special Redragon driver is not required for basic operation.

Windows automatically installs the necessary HID components after connection:

  • via USB-C;
  • through the included 2.4 GHz USB receiver;
  • via Bluetooth.

If the keyboard already types and the main keys work, you do not need to look for an additional system driver.

The proprietary Redragon program is a configuration utility. It does not replace the standard Windows HID driver.

Official K708-RGB-PRO software

It is recommended to download the program from the official Redragon download center:

The verified installer is named:

The properties of the verified file show:

  • Product Name: Redragon K708-RGB-PRO;
  • Company Name: Redragon;
  • file version: 1.0.0.0.

The file name and version on the Redragon website may change over time. Therefore, use the K708-RGB-PRO entry in the official download center as your primary reference.

Installer digital signature

The verified K708-RGB-PRO installer has an Authenticode digital signature. The end-entity signer certificate lists:

This differs from some older Redragon programs that were distributed without a digital signature.

If the file downloaded for K708-RGB-PRO shows an unknown publisher or Windows reports a problem with the digital signature, do not immediately bypass the warning. Download the program again through the official K708-RGB-PRO page and check the file once more.

How to install Redragon K708-RGB-PRO software

  1. First connect the keyboard to the computer and make sure it works normally without the proprietary program.
  2. Download the software specifically for K708-RGB-PRO from the official Redragon download center.
  3. For initial setup, it is recommended to use a wired USB-C connection.
  4. Close Redragon programs for other keyboards.
  5. Run the Redragon K708-RGB-PRO.exe installer.
  6. Confirm the Windows prompt to allow changes if it appears.
  7. Complete the installation.
  8. Launch the program and check whether the keyboard is detected.

If you only need normal text input, wireless connectivity, and built-in RGB effects, you do not need to install the program.

Wired USB-C connection

Wired mode is convenient for the initial keyboard check, charging, and diagnosing wireless connection problems.

  1. Move the 2.4G / OFF / BT switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable directly to a USB port on the computer.
  4. Wait a few seconds.
  5. Open a text editor and test text input.
The OFF position is used for wired mode when the USB-C cable is connected. This does not mean that the keyboard cannot be used over the cable.

If K708-RGB-PRO works normally over USB, the standard Windows HID driver is installed correctly.

Connecting via 2.4 GHz

The included USB receiver is used for 2.4 GHz mode.

  1. Move the switch to 2.4G.
  2. Connect the included USB receiver directly to the computer.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Test text input.

If pairing has been saved, the connection is usually established automatically.

Re-pairing the 2.4 GHz receiver

If the keyboard works over USB or Bluetooth but no longer connects to the included receiver:

  1. Make sure the keyboard has sufficient charge.
  2. Move the switch to 2.4G.
  3. Disconnect the USB receiver from the computer.
  4. Press and hold FN + 4 for about 3 seconds.
  5. Wait for the white indicator to flash rapidly.
  6. Connect the included USB receiver to the computer.
  7. Place the keyboard near the receiver during pairing.
  8. Wait for the connection to complete.

After successful pairing, the indicator stops flashing rapidly and remains solid white.

Use the included USB receiver. Receivers from different Redragon devices may look identical, but this does not guarantee compatibility.

Connecting K708-RGB-PRO via Bluetooth

The keyboard supports three Bluetooth profiles.

Use a short press to select an already saved Bluetooth profile. For new pairing, hold the corresponding key combination for about 3 seconds.

In the list of Bluetooth devices, the keyboard may appear as:

  • BT5.2_1;
  • BT5.2_2;
  • BT5.2_3.

Bluetooth in Windows 11

  1. Move the keyboard switch to BT.
  2. Select the required profile and hold FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for about 3 seconds.
  3. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices.
  4. Turn on Bluetooth.
  5. Click Add device.
  6. Select Bluetooth.
  7. Find BT5.2_1, BT5.2_2, or BT5.2_3, depending on the selected profile.
  8. Select the device and wait for pairing to complete.

Bluetooth in Windows 10

  1. Move the keyboard switch to BT.
  2. Hold the required combination FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for about 3 seconds.
  3. Open Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices.
  4. Turn on Bluetooth.
  5. Click Add Bluetooth or other device.
  6. Select Bluetooth.
  7. Select the corresponding BT5.2_1, BT5.2_2, or BT5.2_3 device.
  8. Complete the pairing process.

Switching between Bluetooth devices

After the initial pairing, use a short press:

  • FN + 1 — first Bluetooth device;
  • FN + 2 — second device;
  • FN + 3 — third device.

Holding the corresponding combination starts a new pairing process.

If Bluetooth no longer connects

If the device remains saved in Windows but the connection can no longer be established, remove the old pairing and create it again.

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices.
  2. Find the corresponding K708-RGB-PRO profile.
  3. Open the device menu and select Remove device.
  4. Switch the keyboard to BT mode.
  5. Hold the required combination FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for about 3 seconds.
  6. Add the device again.

Windows 10

  1. Open Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices.
  2. Select the saved keyboard.
  3. Click Remove device.
  4. Start a new pairing process on K708-RGB-PRO.
  5. Select Add Bluetooth or other device → Bluetooth.
  6. Add the keyboard again.

Removing the Bluetooth pairing does not remove the standard Windows HID driver and does not affect 2.4 GHz mode.

Controlling RGB lighting without the program

The main RGB functions can be controlled directly from the keyboard.

Key combination Function
FN + right Shift Switch between built-in RGB effects.
FN + ↑ Increase brightness.
FN + ↓ Decrease brightness.
FN + → Increase the speed of the dynamic effect.
FN + ← Decrease the speed of the dynamic effect.
FN + Enter Change the color in supported modes.

K708-RGB-PRO provides 20 built-in lighting effects. Brightness and speed can be adjusted through several levels.

With FN + Enter, supported modes let you cycle through red, green, blue, yellow, purple, cyan, white, and a multicolor RGB option.

If the lighting does not work as expected, first switch through several effects and adjust the brightness. There is no need to install or reinstall the HID driver just because of RGB settings.

Custom RGB lighting without the program

K708-RGB-PRO lets you create your own lighting profile directly from the keyboard.

Use:

FN + Backspace

  1. Press FN + Backspace to enter custom mode.
  2. Use the combination again to enter custom lighting recording mode.
  3. When configuration begins, the Caps Lock indicator starts flashing.
  4. Select the required key and press it repeatedly to set its color.
  5. Repeat the configuration for the other keys.
  6. Press FN + Backspace to save the result.

By default, the ESC, W, A, S, D keys and arrow keys may be highlighted in custom mode.

For more advanced RGB configuration, you can use the proprietary Redragon program.

Built-in display and multifunction knob

K708-RGB-PRO is equipped with a built-in display and a multifunction rotary knob.

In normal mode, the knob is used to control the volume.

To use the display menu:

  1. Press the knob to open the menu.
  2. Rotate the knob to move between menu items.
  3. Press the knob to confirm the selected item.

If no action is taken for several seconds, the menu closes automatically.

Supported hardware settings are available through the built-in menu, so some functions can be changed without launching the program in Windows.

If the knob opens the menu instead of performing the expected action, this does not necessarily indicate a fault. Its function depends on the current state of the built-in menu.

Switching between Windows and macOS modes

K708-RGB-PRO supports different hotkey modes for Windows and macOS.

For Windows, use:

FN + W

For macOS:

FN + A

The operating system mode can also be changed through the keyboard’s built-in menu.

If the Win, Alt, or other system keys unexpectedly change behavior in Windows, first restore Windows mode with FN + W. There is no need to reinstall the HID driver for this.

Locking the Windows key

To lock the Windows key, use:

FN + Win

Pressing the combination again restores normal operation of the key.

This function is useful in games where accidentally pressing Win could open the Start menu or switch applications.

Multimedia functions in Windows

Key combination Function
FN + F1 Decrease screen brightness.
FN + F2 Increase screen brightness.
FN + F3 Window management.
FN + F4 System speech recognition function in supported versions of Windows.
FN + F5 Show the desktop.
FN + F6 Search.
FN + F7 Previous track.
FN + F8 Play / pause.
FN + F9 Next track.
FN + F10 Mute or unmute sound.
FN + F11 Decrease volume.
FN + F12 Increase volume.

How to check the battery level

To check the battery level, use:

FN + INS

Hold the combination to make the keyboard display the battery level. After you release the keys, the device returns to the current RGB mode.

When the battery level is low, the lighting may turn off and the power indicator may begin flashing red slowly when keys are pressed. In this case, connect the USB-C cable and charge the keyboard.

Resetting K708-RGB-PRO to factory settings

If the keyboard works incorrectly after changing modes, macros, or RGB settings, perform a hardware reset.

Press and hold:

FN + ESC

Hold the combination for about 3 seconds.

After the reset, first test the keyboard without launching the proprietary program.

A factory reset restores the keyboard’s default settings and may delete custom settings. If your created macros or lighting profiles are important, keep this in mind before resetting.

What the K708-RGB-PRO program is used for

The proprietary software is intended for advanced configuration.

It provides supported functions including:

  • key remapping;
  • macro creation;
  • profile management;
  • advanced RGB lighting configuration.

The proprietary program is not required to connect the keyboard via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, or Bluetooth.

Creating macros

  1. Connect K708-RGB-PRO to the computer.
  2. Launch the Redragon program.
  3. Open the macro management section.
  4. Create a new macro.
  5. Record the required key sequence.
  6. If necessary, configure the available delays.
  7. Save the macro.
  8. Assign it to a supported key.
  9. Apply the settings.
  10. Test the result.
When using macros in games, follow the rules of the specific game. Some types of automation may be prohibited.

If the Redragon program does not detect K708-RGB-PRO

If the keyboard works normally but the proprietary program does not detect the device:

  1. Make sure the program installed is specifically for K708-RGB-PRO.
  2. Do not use the K708MC-RGB-PRO, K708AK-RGB-PRO, K708GF-RGB-PRO, or another version’s installer.
  3. Move the keyboard switch to OFF.
  4. Connect the keyboard directly to the computer with a USB-C cable.
  5. Do not use a USB hub or docking station.
  6. Try another USB port.
  7. Close Redragon programs for other devices.
  8. Close the K708-RGB-PRO program and launch it again.
  9. Restart Windows if necessary.
If the keyboard types normally, the standard Windows HID driver is already working. If the proprietary program does not detect the device, do not remove the system HID driver as your first troubleshooting step.

If software for another K708 version is installed

Before installing the correct software, it is recommended to remove the incompatible program.

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  2. Find the Redragon program for another K708 version.
  3. Open the menu next to its name.
  4. Select Uninstall.
  5. Complete the uninstallation.
  6. Restart Windows.
  7. If necessary, perform an FN + ESC reset.
  8. Test K708-RGB-PRO without the program.
  9. Install the correct software.

Windows 10

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
  2. Find the incorrect Redragon program.
  3. Select it and click Uninstall.
  4. Complete the uninstallation.
  5. Restart Windows.
  6. Test the keyboard without the proprietary program.
  7. Then install the K708-RGB-PRO software.

Removing the proprietary program does not remove the standard Windows HID driver.

If Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz do not work

First test the keyboard in wired mode.

  1. Move the switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable.
  3. Test text input.

If the keyboard works over USB:

  1. charge K708-RGB-PRO;
  2. check the position of the mode switch;
  3. repeat 2.4 GHz pairing using FN + 4;
  4. remove the old Bluetooth pairing and create it again;
  5. try another USB port for the receiver.

If wired mode works correctly, the problem is usually not related to the basic Windows HID driver.

If the 2.4 GHz connection drops intermittently

  1. Check the keyboard’s charge level.
  2. Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
  3. Do not use a USB hub for testing.
  4. Try another USB port.
  5. Move the keyboard closer to the receiver.
  6. Move the receiver away from sources of strong radio interference.
  7. If necessary, repeat pairing using FN + 4.

If Bluetooth disconnects intermittently

  1. Check the keyboard’s battery level.
  2. Make sure the correct Bluetooth profile is selected.
  3. Move the keyboard closer to the computer.
  4. Remove the saved Bluetooth pairing and add the device again.
  5. Test K708-RGB-PRO with another computer or another Bluetooth device.

If the keyboard works reliably over USB and 2.4 GHz but Bluetooth disconnects only on one computer, also check that computer’s Bluetooth adapter and its driver.

If the built-in display does not work

If the keyboard types but the display does not show information or respond to controls:

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB-C.
  2. Check the knob and try opening the built-in menu.
  3. Disconnect the keyboard from the computer for a few seconds and connect it again.
  4. Perform a factory reset with FN + ESC.
  5. Test the device before launching the proprietary program.

If the display remains completely nonfunctional while the keyboard itself works and the problem persists after a reset, the cause may be hardware-related. Reinstalling the standard HID driver in this situation usually does not restore the display itself.

If one key does not work

K708-RGB-PRO supports hot-swap switches. Therefore, if one key fails, you can test the mechanical switch separately.

  1. Turn off the keyboard and disconnect the USB-C cable.
  2. Remove the keycap from the problem key.
  3. Carefully remove the switch with a suitable switch puller.
  4. Check its metal contacts.
  5. Install a known-good compatible 3-pin or 5-pin switch.
  6. Turn on the keyboard and test it again.

If the problem moves with the switch, the switch itself is most likely faulty.

If the same key position still does not work with a known-good switch, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket, PCB, or another hardware component.

If a key registers twice

If one press sometimes produces two identical characters:

  1. Test the problem key in a normal text editor.
  2. Close the Redragon program and repeat the test.
  3. Test the keyboard in wired USB mode.
  4. If the problem persists, turn off the keyboard.
  5. Replace the suspected switch with a known-good one.
  6. Repeat the test.

If the double input moves with the switch, the switch is the cause. If it remains at the same key position, there may be a fault in the hot-swap socket or PCB.

Before replacing a mechanical switch, turn off the keyboard and disconnect the USB-C cable. Install the new switch carefully to avoid bending its contacts.

If Windows does not detect K708-RGB-PRO at all

Use wired mode for diagnosis.

  1. Move the switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the USB-C cable directly to the computer.
  3. Try another USB port.
  4. Do not use a USB hub.
  5. If possible, try another known-good USB-C cable that supports data transfer.
  6. Restart Windows.
  7. Test the keyboard on another computer.

If K708-RGB-PRO works on another computer, you can have Windows redetect the HID device.

Redetecting the keyboard in Windows

  1. Connect K708-RGB-PRO via USB.
  2. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  3. Expand Keyboards.
  4. If several HID keyboards are displayed, do not uninstall all of them.
  5. Disconnect K708-RGB-PRO and identify which entry disappears.
  6. Connect the keyboard again and make sure the corresponding entry reappears.
  7. Right-click the device you have positively identified.
  8. Select Uninstall device.
  9. Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds.
  10. Connect it again.

Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID driver.

If K708-RGB-PRO is not detected over USB even on another computer, installing software for another Redragon model usually will not help. In this case, check the USB-C cable, connector, and the keyboard itself.
