The same TS9500 series MP Drivers Ver. 1.06 package is used for the Canon PIXMA TS9540, TS9540A, TS9541C, TS9550, TS9550A, TS9551C, and TS9551CA. The driver installation procedure is the same for all the models listed above.
The package installs:
- the printer driver;
- ScanGear, the scanner driver;
- IJ Scan Utility for scanning;
- a component for detecting the network scanner.
Important information for a USB connection
Do not connect the USB cable to the computer until the installer displays the appropriate prompt. If you connect the cable too early, Windows may automatically create the printer using a standard driver. As a result, printing may work, while the scanner and IJ Scan Utility do not.

- Complete the printer’s initial setup. Install the ink tanks and wait until the device is ready for use.
- Close all printing and scanning applications.
- If you previously tried to install the driver and the installation failed, restart the computer.
- Choose a connection method: USB, Wi-Fi, or wired LAN.
Continue with only the section that corresponds to your connection method.
Method 1: Installing the Driver via USB
You will need a standard USB cable with a USB Type-B connector on the printer end. The square connector plugs into the port on the back of the printer.
Step 1: Prepare the Printer and Cable
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- If the USB cable is already connected to the computer, disconnect it.
- Do not reconnect the cable until the installer asks you to do so.

- Wait while the installer extracts the temporary files. This may take some time.
Step 3: Select the Connection Method
- On the welcome screen, click Next.
- If the installer asks you to select a region, choose Europe, Middle East, Africa, and then click Next.
- Read the license agreement and click Yes to continue.
- In the Connection Method window, select: Connect the printer via USB port
- Click Next.
The installer will begin copying files. Do not close the program or connect the USB cable during this stage.

Connect the cable only after the following message appears:
Connect the printer and the computer with a USB cable, and then turn on the printer.
- Connect the square USB Type-B plug to the port on the back of the printer.
- Connect the other end of the cable directly to a USB port on the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub, docking station, or a USB port on a keyboard.
- Turn on the printer using the power button.

Detection may take several minutes. During this time, Windows may also display notifications about installing a new device. Do not click Cancel or disconnect the cable.
Step 5: Complete the Installation
- When the Installation Complete message appears, click Complete.
- If the installer asks you to restart the computer, select Restart the computer now.
- After restarting, leave the printer connected to the same USB port.
Method 2: Installing the Driver via Wi-Fi
Before installation, it is recommended that you connect the printer to your home or office router. The computer and printer must be connected to the same local network.
Do not use Wireless Direct for a standard network installation
Wireless Direct creates a direct connection between the computer and printer without a router. For regular use, it is more convenient to connect the printer to the same standard Wi-Fi network that the computer already uses.
Step 1: Check the Network Connection
- Turn on the printer.
- Make sure there are no error messages on the printer’s display.
- Connect the computer to the same Wi-Fi network used by the printer.
- Temporarily disable the VPN if one is being used.
- Do not connect the USB cable.
Step 2: Run the Installer
- Right-click the md__-win-ts9500-1_06-ea34_2.exe file.
- Select Run as administrator.
- In the User Account Control window, click Yes.
- On the welcome screen, click Next.
- If prompted, select your region of residence.
- Accept the license agreement.
Step 3: Select the Wi-Fi Connection
- In the Connection Method window, select: Connect the printer to a Wi-Fi network
- Click Next.
- Wait while the installer searches for devices.
- When Canon TS9500 series appears in the list, select it.
- Make sure that you have selected your printer. If several identical devices are listed, compare their IP addresses or MAC addresses.
- Click Next.
The installer will create a network port and install the printer driver, ScanGear, IJ Scan Utility, and the network scanner selection component.
If the Printer Does Not Appear in the List
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Make sure the computer is not connected to the router’s guest network.
- Click Refresh.
- If the printer is still not found, select the Check Printer Settings checkbox.
- Click Next.
If the installer offers to configure the network via USB:
- Select the Set up the network connection via USB checkbox.
- Click Next.
- Connect the USB cable only after the installer displays a prompt.
- Select the name of your Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter the Wi-Fi network password.
- Wait while the settings are transferred to the printer.
- After a message confirms that setup was successful, disconnect the USB cable.
Do not turn off the printer or disconnect the cable while the settings are being transferred.
Step 4: Complete the Installation
- Wait for the Setup Complete message.
- If necessary, click View Setup Results and make sure that Complete is displayed next to the printer and scanner.
- Click Complete.
- Restart the computer if the installer asks you to do so.
Method 3: Installing the Driver via Ethernet
Use this method when the printer is connected to a router or network switch with a standard Ethernet cable.
Step 1: Connect the Printer to the Network
- Turn off the printer.
- Connect one end of the network cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the printer.
- Connect the other end of the cable to an available LAN port on the router or network switch.
- Turn on the printer.
- Wait approximately one minute for the router to assign an IP address to the printer.
- Do not connect the USB cable.
Step 2: Install the Driver
- Run the md__-win-ts9500-1_06-ea34_2.exe file as an administrator.
- On the welcome screen, click Next.
- Select your region and accept the license agreement.
- In the Connection Method window, select: Connect the printer to a wired LAN

Information for Owners of Laptops with Snapdragon Processors
The MP Drivers Ver. 1.06 package contains drivers for standard computers with Intel and AMD processors. It does not include a separate ARM64 driver.
On a Windows 11 ARM laptop, the standard installation may fail to complete, or ScanGear and IJ Scan Utility may be unavailable. In this case, add the printer using Windows built-in tools or use network printing.
