If you see the message ‘Found New Hardware’ on the screen, click Cancel and disconnect the USB cable. Then proceed to install the software. A common mistake when installing a driver is that you first connect the device to your computer using a USB cable and then install the driver. In this case, the operating system detects the connected device and installs its own driver, which may not work correctly or not work at all. However, some other devices may work fine with the driver installed by the operating system. Therefore, if there is a driver specially created for your device, then first start installing this driver and only then connect the device to the computer.

How to Fix Epson L8058 Driver Installation Error in Windows 11 and Windows 10
If the operating system cannot detect the Epson L8058 printer during the official driver installation, the problem is usually caused by port conflicts or old residual files in the system.
Important Note: Below are three different methods to solve this problem. You do not need to perform all of them. Start with Method 1 — in most cases, it completely resolves the issue. Move on to the next method only if the previous one did not help.
Method 1: Complete Removal of the Old Driver and System Cleanup
Before starting a new installation, you must remove all old device files from the system:
- Disconnect the printer’s USB cable from the computer (or disconnect the printer from the Wi-Fi network).
- Open the Settings menu (press the Windows + I key combination).
- Go to Bluetooth & devices (in Windows 11) or Devices (in Windows 10), and then select Printers & scanners.
- If you see the old Epson L8058 printer in the list, click on it and select the Remove device button.
- Press the Windows + R key combination on your keyboard, type
printui /s /t2in the window that appears, and press Enter. - In the driver list, select the Epson driver, click the Remove button, then choose the Remove driver and driver package option and click OK.
- Restart your computer.
- After restarting the computer, run the driver installation file again.
- Warning: Do not connect the printer to the computer at this stage! If you connect it too early, Windows will automatically install its own generic driver, which may cause errors in the future.
- Connect the printer cable to the computer (or turn on Wi-Fi on the printer) only when the driver installation program itself prompts you to do so on the screen.
Method 2: Manual Driver Installation via System Settings
If the automatic installer (.exe file) still cannot find the printer, you can force install the driver:
- Use an archiver program (such as 7-Zip or WinRAR) to extract the downloaded driver file
epson673518eu.exeinto a separate folder on your computer. - Connect the printer to the computer using the USB cable and turn on the printer’s power.
- Open Settings -> Printers & scanners.
- Click the Add device button (or “Add a printer or scanner”).
- Wait a few seconds and click the The printer that I want isn’t listed link (or “Add manually”).
- Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click “Next”.
- In the port selection window, choose an existing port (for example,
USB001for a cable connection) and click “Next”. - Click the Have Disk button, then click Browse and navigate to the folder where you extracted the driver files in the first step.
- Select the Epson L8058 model from the list, click “Next”, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Method 3: Restarting the Windows Print Spooler
Sometimes the operating system blocks ports due to an internal error in the print service:
- Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc key combination to open the Task Manager.
- Go to the Services tab.
- Find the service named Spooler (in the “Description” column, it is called “Print Spooler”).
- Right-click on this service and select Restart.
- Run the Epson driver installation again.
