Redragon K708GF-RGB-PRO is a 75% wireless mechanical keyboard with 81 keys, USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in 1.14-inch display, and RGB lighting. A separate proprietary Redragon driver is not required for normal operation. After connection, Windows automatically uses the standard HID keyboard driver.
For advanced configuration, Redragon provides separate software for K708GF-RGB-PRO. It is designed for remapping supported keys, creating macros, working with profiles, and additional RGB settings.
Does Redragon K708GF-RGB-PRO need a driver?
A separate Redragon system driver is not required for basic operation.
Windows automatically installs the necessary HID components after the keyboard is connected:
- via USB-C;
- through the included 2.4 GHz USB receiver;
- via Bluetooth.
If the keyboard already types and the main keys work, you do not need to look for an additional system driver.
The proprietary Redragon program is a configuration utility and does not replace the standard Windows HID driver.
Official K708GF-RGB-PRO software
It is recommended to download the program from the official Redragon download center:
For K708GF-RGB-PRO, Redragon provides a separate installer:
Redragon K708GF-RGB-PRO.exe
Verification showed that this file is completely identical to the verified official K708MC-RGB-PRO and K708AK-RGB-PRO installers. Nevertheless, it is recommended to download the program through the K708GF-RGB-PRO product entry specifically, because Redragon may change the software packages in the future.
Why the program is called KS82 PRO MAX
The following designation is used inside the verified official K708GF-RGB-PRO installer:
KS82 PRO MAX
Therefore, after installation, the name of the program window, shortcut, or executable file may differ from the marketing name Redragon K708GF-RGB-PRO.
Do not uninstall the program just because it is called KS82 PRO MAX if it was installed from a file downloaded from the official K708GF-RGB-PRO page.
Installer digital signature
The verified K708GF-RGB-PRO installer has an Authenticode digital signature.
The end-entity signer certificate lists:
Shenzhen Evision Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd
Therefore, the usual instructions for bypassing Microsoft Defender SmartScreen that apply to unsigned installers are not required for this file.

Controlling RGB lighting without the program
The main RGB functions can be controlled directly from the keyboard.
| Key combination | Function |
|---|---|
| FN + right Shift | Switch between built-in RGB effects. |
| FN + ↑ | Increase brightness. |
| FN + ↓ | Decrease brightness. |
| FN + → | Increase the speed of the dynamic effect. |
| FN + ← | Decrease the speed of the dynamic effect. |
| FN + Enter | Switch colors in supported modes. |
The documentation and current K708GF description specify different numbers of built-in RGB effects. Therefore, in practical use, it is better to cycle through the effects with FN + right Shift rather than rely on a fixed number of modes.
Custom lighting without the program
K708GF-RGB-PRO lets you create your own lighting layout directly from the keyboard.
Use:
FN + Backspace
- Press FN + Backspace to enter custom mode.
- Use the combination again to start recording.
- After entering configuration mode, the Caps Lock indicator starts flashing.
- Select the required key and press it repeatedly to set its color.
- Repeat the configuration for the other keys.
- Press FN + Backspace to save the result.
For more advanced RGB configuration, you can use the proprietary program.
Built-in 1.14-inch display
K708GF-RGB-PRO is equipped with a built-in display and a multifunction rotary knob.
To use the menu:
- Press the knob to open the display menu.
- Rotate the knob to move between the available items.
- Press the knob to confirm the selected function.
If no action is taken for about 5 seconds, the menu closes automatically.
In normal mode, the knob is used to control the volume. Supported keyboard hardware settings are available through the built-in menu.
If the display does not work
If the keyboard types but the screen does not display information:
- Connect K708GF-RGB-PRO via USB-C.
- Check the multifunction knob.
- Try opening the built-in menu by pressing the knob.
- Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds and connect it again.

If the keyboard works but the display remains completely inactive after a reset and reconnection, the cause may be hardware-related. Reinstalling the standard HID driver usually does not restore a faulty display.
Switching between Windows and macOS modes
For Windows mode, use:
FN + W
For macOS:
FN + A
The operating system mode can also be changed through the keyboard’s built-in menu.
If the Win, Alt, or other system keys begin working unusually in Windows, first restore Windows mode with FN + W.
Locking the Windows key
To lock the Windows key, use:
FN + Win
Pressing the combination again restores normal operation of the key.
Multimedia functions

| FN + F8 | Play / pause. |
| FN + F9 | Next track. |
| FN + F10 | Mute or unmute sound. |
| FN + F11 | Decrease volume. |
| FN + F12 | Increase volume. |
How to check the battery level
To display the battery level, use:
FN + INS
Hold the combination to make the keyboard display the battery level. After you release the keys, the device returns to the current RGB mode.
K708GF-RGB-PRO is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. When the battery level is low, the RGB lighting may turn off and the power indicator begins flashing red slowly. In this case, connect the keyboard with a USB-C cable.
Resetting K708GF-RGB-PRO to factory settings
If the keyboard works incorrectly after changing RGB, profiles, the operating system mode, or other settings, perform a hardware reset.
Press and hold:
FN + ESC
Hold the combination for about 3 seconds.
After the reset, first test the keyboard without launching the proprietary program.
What the KS82 PRO MAX program is used for
Despite the internal KS82 PRO MAX name, in this case it refers to the program that the official Redragon website provides for K708GF-RGB-PRO.
It is intended for supported functions including:
- key remapping;
- macro creation;
- profile management;
- advanced RGB lighting configuration.
This program is not required to connect the keyboard via USB-C, 2.4 GHz, or Bluetooth.
Creating macros
- Connect K708GF-RGB-PRO to the computer.
- Launch the proprietary program. In the interface, it may be called KS82 PRO MAX.
- Open the macro management section.
- Create a new macro.
- Record the required key sequence.
- If necessary, configure the available delays.
- Save the macro.
- Assign it to a supported key.
- Apply the changes.
- Test the result.
If the program does not detect K708GF-RGB-PRO
If the keyboard works normally but the proprietary program does not detect the device:
- Make sure the installer was downloaded specifically from the K708GF-RGB-PRO page.
- Do not uninstall the program just because of the internal name KS82 PRO MAX.
- Move the keyboard switch to OFF.
- Connect the keyboard directly to the computer with a USB-C cable.
- Do not use a USB hub or docking station.
- Try another USB port.
- Close Redragon programs for other devices.
- Close KS82 PRO MAX and launch the program again.
- Restart Windows if necessary.
If software for another K708 version is installed
Before installing the correct software, it is recommended to remove the incompatible program.
Windows 11
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find the Redragon program for another K708 version.
- Open the menu next to its name.
- Select Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- If necessary, perform an FN + ESC reset.
- Test K708GF-RGB-PRO without the program.
- Install the official package specifically for K708GF-RGB-PRO.
Windows 10
- Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
- Find the incorrect Redragon program.
- Select it and click Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the keyboard without the proprietary software.
- Then install the K708GF-RGB-PRO program.
Removing the proprietary software does not remove the standard Windows HID driver.
If Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz do not work
First test the keyboard in wired mode.
- Move the switch to OFF.
- Connect the USB-C cable.
- Test text input.
If the keyboard works over USB:
- charge the device;
- check the position of the mode switch;
- repeat 2.4 GHz pairing using FN + 4;
- remove the old Bluetooth pairing and create it again;
- try another USB port for the receiver.
If wired mode works, the problem is usually not related to the basic Windows HID driver.
If the 2.4 GHz connection drops intermittently
- Check the keyboard’s charge level.
- Connect the receiver directly to the computer.
- Do not use a USB hub for testing.
- Try another USB port.
- Move the keyboard closer to the receiver.
- Move the receiver away from sources of strong radio interference.
- If necessary, repeat pairing using FN + 4.
If Bluetooth disconnects intermittently
- Check the battery level.
- Make sure the correct Bluetooth profile is selected.
- Move the keyboard closer to the computer.
- Remove the old pairing and add the device again.
- Test K708GF-RGB-PRO with another computer or another Bluetooth device.
If the keyboard works reliably over USB and 2.4 GHz but Bluetooth disconnects only on one computer, also check that computer’s Bluetooth adapter and its driver.
If one key does not work
K708GF-RGB-PRO supports replaceable mechanical switches. Therefore, if one key fails, you can test the switch itself.
- Turn off the keyboard and disconnect the USB-C cable.
- Remove the keycap from the problem key.
- Carefully remove the switch with a suitable switch puller.
- Check the switch’s metal contacts.
- Install a known-good compatible 3-pin or 5-pin switch.
- Turn on the keyboard and test it again.
If the problem moves with the switch, the switch itself is most likely faulty.
If the same key position still does not work with a known-good switch, there may be a problem with the hot-swap socket, PCB, or another hardware component.
If a key registers twice
If one press sometimes produces two identical characters:
- Test the problem key in a normal text editor.
- Close the proprietary program and repeat the test.
- Test the keyboard in wired USB mode.
- If the problem persists, turn off the keyboard.
- Replace the suspected switch with a known-good one.
- Repeat the test.
If the double input moves with the switch, the switch is the cause. If it remains at the same key position, there may be a fault in the hot-swap socket or PCB.
If Windows does not detect K708GF-RGB-PRO at all
Use wired mode for diagnosis.
- Move the switch to OFF.
- Connect the USB-C cable directly to the computer.
- Try another USB port.
- Do not use a USB hub.
- If possible, try another known-good USB-C cable that supports data transfer.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the keyboard on another computer.
If K708GF-RGB-PRO works on another computer, you can have Windows redetect the HID device.
Redetecting the keyboard in Windows
- Connect K708GF-RGB-PRO via USB.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- If several HID keyboards are displayed, do not uninstall all of them.
- Disconnect K708GF-RGB-PRO and identify which entry disappears.
- Connect the keyboard again and make sure the corresponding entry reappears.
- Right-click the device you have positively identified.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Disconnect the keyboard for a few seconds.
- Connect it again.
Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID driver.
If K708GF-RGB-PRO is not detected over USB even on another computer, installing software for another Redragon model usually will not help. In this case, check the USB-C cable, connector, and the keyboard itself.
