How to Download and Install the Xerox Phaser 3010 Printer Driver in Windows 11 / 10 / 8 / 8.1 / 7 / Vista / XP

Last Updated on 16.02.2026 by DriverNew

Xerox Phaser 3010 Printer DriverThis guide uses the official driver installer Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer.exe, which is available on the Xerox website. This EXE file not only starts the installation, but also contains the driver files compatible with Windows 11 / 10 / 8 / 8.1 / 7 / Vista / XP (you can extract them and install manually if the standard installation fails).

1) Where to download the driver (officially)

Recommended option: open the driver installer page on the Xerox website and click the Download button.

Driver page (Xerox support, English):

Xerox Phaser 3010 driver installer (official)

Direct link to the file (if you need to download the EXE immediately):

Download Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer.exe (direct)

Note: support pages may show separate downloads for Windows 7/Vista/XP, but sometimes those links return a “Not Found (404)” error. In that case, use Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer.exe — it’s a working official option.

2) Before installing: check your Windows system type (32/64-bit)

  • Windows 11 is only available as 64-bit (x64).
  • Windows 10 / 8 / 8.1 / 7 can be 32-bit or 64-bit — it’s best to verify.

How to check (Windows 10/11):

  1. Click StartSettings.
  2. Open SystemAbout.
  3. Find System type (64-bit operating system or 32-bit operating system).

3) Method #1 (easiest): install via the EXE

This method works for Windows 11 / 10 / 8 / 8.1 / 7 and usually takes just a couple of minutes.

  1. Download Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer.exe.
  2. Right-click the file → select Run as administrator.
  3. Follow the installation wizard steps.
  4. After installation, print a test page (see below).

How to print a test page (Windows 11/10):

  1. Click StartSettings.
  2. Open Bluetooth & devicesPrinters & scanners.
  3. Select Xerox Phaser 3010 → open properties/manage → find Print test page (the wording may vary slightly).

How to print a test page (Windows 7):

  1. Click StartDevices and Printers.
  2. Find Xerox Phaser 3010 → right-click → Printer properties.
  3. Click Print Test Page.

If the EXE installation fails, move on to Method #2.

4) Method #2 (reliable): extract the driver files from the EXE and install manually via INF

Sometimes the installer won’t launch or says the system is “not supported”. In that case, a manual installation via an INF file (built-in Windows method) usually helps.

Step 1. Extract the EXE contents (the EXE can be unpacked like an archive)

The easiest way is to use the free archiver 7-Zip (or WinRAR):

  1. Install 7-Zip (if you don’t have it).
  2. Right-click Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer.exe.
  3. Select 7-ZipExtract to “Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer\” (or “Extract to…”).

After extraction, you’ll get a folder with the driver files.

Step 2. Find the driver INF file

Inside the extracted folder, the typical paths look like this:

  • For 64-bit (x64):
    ...\Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer\Drivers\HB\Win_87VistaXP\x64\English\xrhr1a64.inf
  • For 32-bit (x86):
    ...\Xerox_Phaser_3010_installer\Drivers\HB\Win_87VistaXP\x32\English\xrhr1a.inf

Step 3. Install the driver using “Have Disk…”

Windows 11 / 10 / 8 / 8.1:

  1. Open Start → type Control Panel → open it.
  2. Go to Devices and Printers.
  3. Click Add a printer.
  4. If the printer isn’t found, choose The printer that I want isn’t listed.
  5. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
  6. At the driver selection step, click Have Disk….
  7. Click Browse and point to the INF file (xrhr1a64.inf for x64 or xrhr1a.inf for x86).
  8. Select Xerox Phaser 3010 → click Next and finish the installation.

Windows 7:

  1. Click StartDevices and Printers.
  2. Click Add a printer.
  3. Select Add a local printer.
  4. At the driver selection step, click Have Disk….
  5. Select the INF file (xrhr1a64.inf for x64 or xrhr1a.inf for x86).
  6. Finish the installation and print a Test Page.

5) Important for Windows 11: Windows protected print mode

Windows 11 includes Windows protected print mode. If it’s enabled, installing some printers that require third-party drivers may be blocked. In that case, turn the mode off and try again (ideally using the manual INF method).

Microsoft documentation (English):

Windows protected print mode (Microsoft Learn)

6) Quick note on Windows Vista and Windows XP

These systems are rare today. If you use Vista/XP, the same approach usually works: extract the driver from the EXE and install via Have Disk… (INF). If installation still fails, it’s typically due to the limitations of the older OS (missing components, required updates, etc.).

7) If the printer still won’t print after installation: quick checklist

  1. Connect the printer directly to a USB port on the PC (no USB hub) and make sure it’s powered on.
  2. Reinstall the printer: remove it from the device list, restart your PC, and install again (preferably via INF).
  3. Make sure you installed the correct driver for your system type: x64 for 64-bit, x86 for 32-bit.
  4. On Windows 11, check Windows protected print mode (see section 5).
