For the <strong>M601-3 Centrophorus<\/strong> mouse family, separate Redragon software is available that allows you to change additional settings.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> before installing mouse software, check the model designation on the label on the bottom of the mouse. S101 combos were released in different versions and could include similarly named M601, M601-3, and M601RGB mice. Software for one hardware version may not recognize another.<\/div>\n<h2>Does Redragon S101-3 need a driver?<\/h2>\n<p>A separate Redragon driver is not required for the S101-3 keyboard and mouse.<\/p>\n<p>Connect the keyboard and mouse to available USB ports on the computer. Windows should automatically detect both devices and install the standard drivers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If the keyboard types text and the mouse moves the pointer, there is no need to look for an additional driver.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proprietary Redragon software, if installed, works in addition to the standard Windows HID driver and does not replace it.<\/p>\n<h2>Is software available for the S101-3 keyboard?<\/h2>\n<p>For normal operation of the S101-3 keyboard, separate software is not required. The lighting and main additional keyboard functions are configured directly using keyboard shortcuts.<\/p>\n<p>The current Redragon download page contains a file named <code>Redragon_S101-3_Software.exe<\/code>. However, verification of this file showed that it is not separate modern software for the S101-3 keyboard.<\/p>\n<p>The file matches the installer from the old <strong>M601-3 Centrophorus<\/strong> package, intended primarily for configuring the mouse. Therefore, installing <code>Redragon_S101-3_Software.exe<\/code> to configure the keyboard is not recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You do not need to install this software to control the keyboard&#8217;s standard RGB lighting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>M601-3 Centrophorus mouse software<\/h2>\n<p>Separate proprietary Redragon software is available for the <strong>M601-3 Centrophorus<\/strong> mouse.<\/p>\n<p>It allows you to change supported mouse settings, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>button assignments;<\/li>\n<li>DPI levels;<\/li>\n<li>polling rate and additional settings;<\/li>\n<li>configuration profiles;<\/li>\n<li>macros;<\/li>\n<li>supported lighting settings;<\/li>\n<li>profile import and export.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This software is not required for normal pointer movement or operation of the main buttons. The mouse continues to work with the standard Windows driver.<\/p>\n<h2>How to download the correct M601-3 software<\/h2>\n<p>For the M601-3 mouse, it is recommended to use the complete <strong>M601-3 CENTROPHORUS<\/strong> package, which includes the required software files together with the installer.<\/p>\n<p>Open the <a href=\"https:\/\/redragon.es\/products\/best-seller\/s101-ba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official Redragon page with M601-3 Centrophorus software<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the page, find the <strong>M601-3 CENTROPHORUS<\/strong> section and download the software.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> do not replace this package with software for <strong>M601RGB<\/strong> or <strong>M601 RGB V1<\/strong> just because the mouse name is similar. This is a different hardware version, and the software may display a message saying that the device is not connected.<\/div>\n<h2>Why Redragon_S101-3_Software.exe may fail to install<\/h2>\n<p>The current Redragon download page offers a separate file:<\/p>\n<p><code>Redragon_S101-3_Software.exe<\/code><\/p>\n<p>During installation, an error related to a missing item may appear:<\/p>\n<p><code>CustomSkins\/*<\/code><\/p>\n<p>Verification of the official files revealed the reason for this problem. <code>Redragon_S101-3_Software.exe<\/code> is the same installer that was previously distributed inside the complete <strong>M601-3 CENTROPHORUS<\/strong> package. In the complete package, a <code>CustomSkins<\/code> folder containing software interface resources is located next to <code>setup.exe<\/code>.<\/p>\n<p>The separate <code>Redragon_S101-3_Software.exe<\/code> download does not include this folder. Therefore, the installer may be unable to find the required files.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>If a CustomSkins\/* error occurs:<\/strong> do not manually create an empty CustomSkins folder. It must contain the software files. Instead of the separate <code>Redragon_S101-3_Software.exe<\/code>, download the complete <strong>M601-3 CENTROPHORUS<\/strong> package and extract the entire archive while preserving its folder structure.<\/div>\n<h2>How to install M601-3 Centrophorus software<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the complete <strong>M601-3 CENTROPHORUS<\/strong> archive from the official Redragon page.<\/li>\n<li>Fully extract the archive to a separate folder. Do not run <code>setup.exe<\/code> directly from the archive window.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the <code>CustomSkins<\/code> folder is present next to the installation files.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the mouse directly to a USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Close other Redragon mouse management programs.<\/li>\n<li>Run <code>setup.exe<\/code> from the extracted folder.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the installation and launch the software.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Windows warning:<\/strong> the M601-3 software is old, and its installer may not have a modern digital signature. Therefore, Windows may display a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning. Continue with the installation only if the file was downloaded from the official Redragon website and you have verified that you are using the package specifically for your mouse model.<\/div>\n<h2>If the software says Device is Disconnected<\/h2>\n<p>The mouse may work normally in Windows while the proprietary software displays <strong>Device is Disconnected<\/strong> or another message saying that the device is not connected.<\/p>\n<p>This does not necessarily mean that a driver is missing.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Check the mouse model on the label on the bottom.<\/li>\n<li>If it says <strong>M601-3<\/strong> or Centrophorus of the corresponding version, use M601-3 Centrophorus software.<\/li>\n<li>If <strong>M601RGB V1<\/strong> software is installed, uninstall it before installing M601-3 Centrophorus.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the mouse directly to a USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use a USB hub, docking station, or extension cable for testing.<\/li>\n<li>Close the Redragon software and launch it again.<\/li>\n<li>Try another USB port.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>If the mouse pointer moves and the buttons work, do not remove the standard HID driver just because the proprietary software does not detect the mouse.<\/strong> The most likely cause in this situation is incompatibility between the software and the specific hardware version of the device.<\/p>\n<h2>Configuring DPI on the S101-3 mouse<\/h2>\n<p>The M601-3 mouse allows you to switch sensitivity directly using the DPI button on the mouse.<\/p>\n<p>The classic M601-3 Centrophorus uses the following levels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>400 DPI;<\/li>\n<li>1600 DPI;<\/li>\n<li>2400 DPI;<\/li>\n<li>3200 DPI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more precise configuration, use the proprietary M601-3 Centrophorus software.<\/p>\n<p>If the standard DPI levels are sufficient, installing the software is optional.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Do not confuse mouse versions:<\/strong> newer M601RGB models may support different DPI levels, additional profiles, and different RGB lighting. These specifications should not automatically be applied to the M601-3 mouse included with S101-3.<\/div>\n<h2>Remapping mouse buttons and macros<\/h2>\n<p>M601-3 Centrophorus software allows you to change the assignments of supported buttons.<\/p>\n<p>A macro manager is also available. It allows you to record sequences of keystrokes and delays and then assign the created command to a supported mouse button.<\/p>\n<p>The software supports multiple configuration profiles, as well as profile import and export.<\/p>\n<p>When using macros in games, follow the rules of the specific game and the anti-cheat system being used.<\/p>\n<h2>Controlling S101-3 keyboard lighting<\/h2>\n<p>No software is required to change the main lighting modes. In a static mode, the effect of this shortcut may not be noticeable.<\/p>\n<h2>If the keyboard lighting does not work<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Press <strong>FN + PGDN<\/strong> to check whether the lighting was turned off.<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>FN + \u2191<\/strong> several times to increase the brightness.<\/li>\n<li>Switch the mode using <strong>FN + INS<\/strong>, <strong>FN + HOME<\/strong>, or another lighting shortcut.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the keyboard from the USB port and reconnect it.<\/li>\n<li>Try another USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>If a USB hub is being used, connect the keyboard directly to the computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You do not need to install M601-3 mouse software to restore the standard keyboard lighting.<\/p>\n<h2>If the keyboard lighting color has changed<\/h2>\n<p>If the keyboard suddenly lights up in a different color, first check the lighting mode.<\/p>\n<p>Press <strong>FN + HOME<\/strong> repeatedly to cycle through the available solid lighting options.<\/p>\n<p>Also try <strong>FN + INS<\/strong>, <strong>FN + PGUP<\/strong>, <strong>FN + DEL<\/strong>, or <strong>FN + END<\/strong> to make sure the issue is not related to the selected mode.<\/p>\n<h2>Locking the Windows key<\/h2>\n<p>The Windows key can be locked while gaming.<\/p>\n<p>Use:<\/p>\n<p><strong>FN + WIN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the Windows key suddenly stops working, first press this shortcut again.<\/p>\n<h2>Keyboard multimedia functions<\/h2>\n<p>The S101-3 keyboard supports multimedia functions on the <strong>F1\u2013F12<\/strong> keys, which are used together with <strong>FN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The behavior of some commands depends on the applications set as defaults in Windows.<\/p>\n<p>The keyboard also supports simultaneous recognition of a group of gaming keys, reducing the likelihood of missed keystrokes when several keys are pressed at the same time.<\/p>\n<h2>If the keyboard or mouse is not detected in Windows<\/h2>\n<p>If the device does not work at all, first rule out simple causes.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Disconnect the device from the USB port.<\/li>\n<li>Wait a few seconds and reconnect it.<\/li>\n<li>Try another USB port.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use a USB hub or extension cable during testing.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<li>If possible, test the device on another computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the keyboard or mouse works on another computer, you can force Windows to detect the device again.<\/p>\n<h3>Re-detecting the keyboard<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Right-click the <strong>Start<\/strong> button and open <strong>Device Manager<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Expand <strong>Keyboards<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If several identical HID keyboards are listed, do not remove all of them.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the correct device by disconnecting and reconnecting S101-3.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the corresponding device and select <strong>Uninstall device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the keyboard and reconnect it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Windows will automatically install the standard HID driver.<\/p>\n<h3>Re-detecting the mouse<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Device Manager<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Expand <strong>Mice and other pointing devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If several HID mice are listed, first identify the correct entry by disconnecting and reconnecting the Redragon mouse.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the identified device and select <strong>Uninstall device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the mouse for a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Connect it again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Windows will reinstall the standard mouse driver.<\/p>\n<h2>Removing incompatible software in Windows 11<\/h2>\n<p>If software for another M601 version was previously installed:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings \u2192 Apps \u2192 Installed apps<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find the installed Redragon software.<\/li>\n<li>Open its menu and select <strong>Uninstall<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the uninstallation.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Removing incompatible software in Windows 10<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings \u2192 Apps \u2192 Apps &amp; features<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find the Redragon software.<\/li>\n<li>Select it and click <strong>Uninstall<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the uninstallation.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Uninstalling the proprietary software does not remove the standard Windows HID driver. The keyboard and mouse should continue to work without it.<\/p>\n<h2>Using the devices in Windows 11<\/h2>\n<p>Although the M601-3 software was created for earlier versions of Windows, the keyboard and mouse themselves use standard USB HID interfaces and normally work in Windows 11 without a separate driver.<\/p>\n<p>If the old M601-3 software does not launch or does not recognize the mouse in Windows 11, but the mouse itself works normally, do not reinstall the system HID driver just for the proprietary utility.<\/p>\n<p>First check the mouse hardware version and make sure you are using the complete M601-3 Centrophorus package with the <code>CustomSkins<\/code> folder.<\/p>\n<h2>Using the devices in Windows 10<\/h2>\n<p>In Windows 10, the keyboard and mouse also work with the standard system drivers.<\/p>\n<p>No additional software is required for normal operation.
