Do not install the old M601-3\/Centrophorus or M601 RGB V1 software for it just because these names appear in instructions for earlier S101-3 combos.<\/div>\n<h2>Does the S101-3 PRO mouse need a driver?<\/h2>\n<p>A separate Redragon driver is not required for normal operation.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect the mouse directly to a USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Wait a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Windows will automatically detect the device.<\/li>\n<li>Check pointer movement, the left and right buttons, and the scroll wheel.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>If the mouse already works, there is no need to install an additional system driver.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proprietary Redragon software is required only for advanced configuration.<\/p>\n<h2>Official S101-3 PRO Mice software<\/h2>\n<p>The software can be downloaded from the official page:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/redragonshop.com\/blogs\/product-download\/redragons101-3-pro-gaming-combo-mice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Redragon S101-3 PRO Gaming Combo \u2014 Mice Software<\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the time of verification, the official installer is named:<\/p>\n<p><code>Redragon_S101-3_PRO_Mice_setup_a6e890c3-8f4a-4141-b70a-2093e9678c00.exe<\/code><\/p>\n<p>File verification showed that Redragon uses the <strong>M601-RGB V2<\/strong> software family for S101-3 PRO.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>M601-RGB V2 and the old M601-3 are not the same software.<\/strong> Using the old utility is one possible reason for the <strong>Device is Disconnected<\/strong> message when the mouse itself works normally in Windows.<\/div>\n<h2>S101-3 PRO 7200 DPI and the old S101-3 3200 DPI<\/h2>\n<p>Instructions for earlier S101-3 combos can be found online. Their mouse had a maximum sensitivity of about 3200 DPI and used different software.<\/p>\n<p>For the updated S101-3 PRO covered here, the following sensitivity levels are used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>800 DPI<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>1200 DPI<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>1600 DPI<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2400 DPI<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>7200 DPI<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can switch between them using the DPI button directly on the mouse.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Before installing older software, check the maximum DPI of your mouse.<\/strong> If it is the S101-3 PRO version with 7200 DPI, do not use our M601-3\/Centrophorus software intended for the older revision.<\/div>\n<h2>How to install the mouse software<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the installer from the official S101-3 PRO Mice page.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the mouse directly to a USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Close Redragon software for other mice.<\/li>\n<li>Run the installer.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the installation.<\/li>\n<li>Launch the Redragon software.<\/li>\n<li>Check whether the device is recognized.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There is no need to manually search for an HID driver on the Internet for installation.<\/p>\n<h2>Adjusting DPI without software<\/h2>\n<p>The proprietary software is not required for normal sensitivity adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>Press the DPI button on the mouse to cycle through the available levels:<\/p>\n<p><strong>800 \u2192 1200 \u2192 1600 \u2192 2400 \u2192 7200 DPI<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A low DPI value is convenient for more precise pointer movement, while a high value is suitable for faster movement.<\/p>\n<h2>Adjusting DPI through the software<\/h2>\n<p>The proprietary software allows more detailed control of supported sensitivity settings.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Launch the Redragon software.<\/li>\n<li>Open the DPI settings section.<\/li>\n<li>Check the values of the individual levels.<\/li>\n<li>Change the required settings.<\/li>\n<li>Apply or save the settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the pointer becomes too fast or too slow after configuration, return to the default values or restore the default profile.<\/p>\n<h2>Button assignments<\/h2>\n<p>The proprietary software allows you to remap supported mouse buttons.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the selected button and software version, the following may be available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>standard mouse actions;<\/li>\n<li>Forward and Back;<\/li>\n<li>DPI switching;<\/li>\n<li>multimedia commands;<\/li>\n<li>macros;<\/li>\n<li>profile switching;<\/li>\n<li>other supported actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After changing an assignment, be sure to apply the settings.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Do not change the assignment of the primary left button unless necessary.<\/strong> If its function is changed accidentally, controlling the software interface may become inconvenient. In that case, restore the default profile.<\/div>\n<h2>Creating macros<\/h2>\n<p>The software allows you to create command sequences and assign them to supported mouse buttons.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the macro manager.<\/li>\n<li>Create a new macro.<\/li>\n<li>Record the required sequence of keys or actions.<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, configure delays.<\/li>\n<li>Save the macro.<\/li>\n<li>Return to the button configuration section.<\/li>\n<li>Assign the macro to the required button.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>When using macros in games,<\/strong> follow the rules of the specific game. Some types of automation may be prohibited.<\/div>\n<h2>Profiles<\/h2>\n<p>If the software provides several profiles, each can be used for a separate set of settings.<\/p>\n<p>For example, one profile can store a high DPI value and gaming button assignments, while another can use lower sensitivity and standard actions for normal work.<\/p>\n<p>If the mouse suddenly starts working differently, first check which profile is selected in the software.<\/p>\n<h2>Mouse polling rate<\/h2>\n<p>The following polling rate values are available for this software family:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>125 Hz<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>250 Hz<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>500 Hz<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>1000 Hz<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The higher the polling rate, the more often the mouse sends movement data to the computer.<\/p>\n<p>For most modern computers, 1000 Hz can be used. If unusual delays, increased load, or instability occur on an older computer, temporarily set 500 or 250 Hz for testing.<\/p>\n<h2>RGB lighting configuration<\/h2>\n<p>The mouse has built-in lighting, and M601-RGB V2 software allows you to change supported lighting settings.<\/p>\n<p>If the lighting works and you do not need additional effects, there is no need to install the software just for normal mouse operation.<\/p>\n<h2>If the software says Device is Disconnected<\/h2>\n<p>If the software reports <strong>Device is Disconnected<\/strong> but the pointer and main mouse buttons work, the standard Windows driver is already installed.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Check the name of the installed software.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you are using software specifically for <strong>S101-3 PRO Mice<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If the old M601-3\/Centrophorus or M601 RGB V1 software is installed, uninstall it.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the mouse directly to a USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use a USB hub during testing.<\/li>\n<li>Try another USB port.<\/li>\n<li>Close the Redragon software and launch it again.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 12px 15px; margin: 16px 0;\"><strong>Device is Disconnected does not mean that Windows failed to install the driver.<\/strong> If the cursor moves, the system HID driver is working. First check whether the proprietary software is compatible with the specific hardware revision of the mouse.<\/div>\n<h2>If the old M601-3 software is installed<\/h2>\n<p>It is not recommended to install the following old packages for S101-3 PRO with 7200 DPI:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>M601-3 Centrophorus;<\/li>\n<li>M601 RGB V1;<\/li>\n<li>software for the standard S101-3 intended for another hardware revision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Removing the wrong software in Windows 11<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings \u2192 Apps \u2192 Installed apps<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find the old Redragon software.<\/li>\n<li>Open the app menu and select <strong>Uninstall<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the uninstallation.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<li>Install S101-3 PRO Mice software from the official page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Removing the wrong software in Windows 10<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings \u2192 Apps \u2192 Apps &amp; features<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find the old Redragon software.<\/li>\n<li>Select it and click <strong>Uninstall<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the uninstallation.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<li>Install the correct S101-3 PRO Mice software.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After removing the proprietary utility, the mouse should continue to work through the standard Windows HID driver.<\/p>\n<h2>If the side or other buttons work incorrectly<\/h2>\n<p>If the problem appeared after installing the software or changing the profile:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Launch the Redragon software.<\/li>\n<li>Open the button assignment section.<\/li>\n<li>Check the action assigned to the problematic button.<\/li>\n<li>Restore the default assignment.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If many settings have been changed and it is difficult to find the error, restore the software&#8217;s default profile.<\/p>\n<h2>If DPI becomes too high or too low<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the physical DPI button several times and check each level.<\/li>\n<li>If the software is installed, open the DPI settings.<\/li>\n<li>Check the values of the saved levels.<\/li>\n<li>Restore the default values if they were changed accidentally.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the problem appeared immediately after installing the old M601-3 software or another incompatible utility, uninstall it first.<\/p>\n<h2>If the RGB lighting does not work<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Disconnect the mouse from the USB port for a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Connect it again.<\/li>\n<li>Try another USB port.<\/li>\n<li>If the software is installed, open the lighting settings.<\/li>\n<li>Check the active profile and RGB settings.<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, restore the default settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the mouse works normally but the lighting does not turn on after restoring the settings and testing on another computer, the lighting may have a hardware fault.<\/p>\n<h2>If Windows does not detect the mouse<\/h2>\n<p>If the pointer does not move at all and Windows does not respond to the connection:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Disconnect the mouse.<\/li>\n<li>Connect it to another USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use a USB hub or extension cable.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<li>If possible, test the mouse on another computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the mouse works on another computer, re-detect the HID device.<\/p>\n<h3>Re-detecting the mouse in Windows<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Right-click the <strong>Start<\/strong> button and select <strong>Device Manager<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Expand <strong>Mice and other pointing devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If several HID mice are listed, do not remove all of them.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect S101-3 PRO and identify which entry disappears.<\/li>\n<li>Reconnect the mouse and make sure the corresponding entry appears.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the identified device and select <strong>Uninstall device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the mouse for a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Connect it again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Windows will automatically reinstall the standard HID driver.<\/p>\n<h2>If the mouse disconnects intermittently<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect the mouse directly to a USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Try another USB port.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use a USB hub or extension cable.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the USB cable and the point where it enters the mouse housing.<\/li>\n<li>Test the device on another computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the disconnections occur on different computers, installing different software will usually not fix a hardware problem with the cable, USB connector, or the mouse itself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The wired mouse included with the Redragon S101-3 PRO does not require a separate proprietary driver for normal operation in Windows.
