The automatic Plug and Play installer in the provided file does not perform a network installation, so the printer must be added by its IP address.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1. Find the P2014n&#8217;s IP address<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect the Ethernet cable to the printer and the router or switch.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that the link indicator on the printer&#8217;s network port lights up.<\/li>\n<li>Wait until the Ready indicator remains steadily lit.<\/li>\n<li>Press and hold the green <strong>Go<\/strong> button for approximately 5 seconds. Remove the unsuccessfully installed device<\/h3>\n<p>If the printer has not previously been connected to this computer, start with the next step. Do not remove the other USB controllers.<\/li>\n<li>Restart the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Install the exact Class Driver through Windows Update or repeat the Host Based driver installation with the cable disconnected.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>USB001 port is missing<\/h3>\n<p>USB001 is created after Windows correctly detects the connected printer. Do not create an arbitrary USB port manually.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure that the printer is turned on and the Ready indicator is steadily lit.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the cable directly to another USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Wait at least one minute.<\/li>\n<li>Open Device Manager and check whether a new device appears when the cable is connected.<\/li>\n<li>If no device appears, replace the USB cable.<\/li>\n<li>After the device appears, open the printer addition wizard again and check the port list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>The model is missing after clicking \u201cWindows Update\u201d<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure that the computer is connected to the internet.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Windows Update<\/strong> again and wait 5\u201310 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>If the list does not update, close the wizard and restart the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Control Panel \u2192 Devices and Printers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Print server properties \u2192 Drivers \u2192 Add<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the computer architecture and click <strong>Windows Update<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Add the exact HP LaserJet P2014 Class Driver or P2014n Class Driver.<\/li>\n<li>After adding the driver, return to \u201cPrinters &amp; scanners\u201d and create the queue on USB001 or a Standard TCP\/IP Port.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If necessary, you can check driver availability in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/Search.aspx?q=HP%20LaserJet%20P2014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a>. Do not use a WSD port.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Configure Port<\/strong>. The RAW protocol and port 9100 are normally used for direct network printing.<\/li>\n<li>If printing works but Windows continues to show the \u201cOffline\u201d status, clear the <strong>SNMP Status Enabled<\/strong> check box and test again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>The configuration page shows the IP address 0.0.0.0<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Check the Ethernet cable connection at both ends.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that the network indicators on the printer&#8217;s port are lit or flashing.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the cable to another port on the router or switch.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the printer for at least 10 seconds, and then turn it on again.<\/li>\n<li>After two minutes, print the configuration page again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 14px 16px; margin: 18px 0;\">\n<p><strong>Resetting the P2014n network settings.<\/strong> If the printer still does not obtain an address, turn it off, press the Go and Cancel buttons simultaneously, and hold them for approximately 10 seconds while turning it on. This returns the network settings to their factory defaults and deletes the previously configured static IP address. After the printer returns to the Ready state, wait two minutes and print the configuration page again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Incorrect characters or blank pages are printed<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Check the name of the installed driver.<\/li>\n<li>Remove any queue created with the HP LaserJet P2015 driver, HP Universal Print Driver or another incorrect model.<\/li>\n<li>Install the exact HP LaserJet P2014 Class Driver, P2014n Class Driver or the provided Host Based driver.<\/li>\n<li>Assign the correct USB or TCP\/IP port to the queue.<\/li>\n<li>Print a test page, and then print a document from the program in which the error occurred.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After successful installation, check both a Windows test page and a regular document from a text editor or browser.
