Then run the HP UPD installation again.<\/li>\n<li>In Windows 11, use the current HP UPD package for your architecture: its USB mode installs the required connection components.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>The driver is installed, but no print queue appears<\/h3>\n<p>USB Plug and Play mode first adds the files to the driver store, and the queue is created after the powered-on printer is detected.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure that the printer is turned on and that Ready is displayed on the operator panel.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the USB cable directly to the computer and wait for up to two minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Open the \u201cPrinters &amp; scanners\u201d list and refresh the window.<\/li>\n<li>If Windows has created USB001 or DOT4_001, add the printer manually, select this port and choose the already installed <strong>HP Universal Printing PCL 6<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If the port is missing, repeat the USB installation and check the cable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Jobs remain in the queue, but printing does not start<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Printer properties \u2192 Ports<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>For a direct USB connection, the USB001 or DOT4_001 port associated with the HP LaserJet 5200L must be selected.<\/li>\n<li>For a network connection, the Standard TCP\/IP port with the actual IP address of the Jetdirect card or print server must be selected.<\/li>\n<li>Do not select FILE:, WSD or LPT1 unless the printer is physically connected using that method.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Apply<\/strong> and print a test page.<\/li>\n<li>If the job remains in the queue, cancel it, turn the printer off and on again, and then restart the computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Windows automatically selected Microsoft IPP Class Driver<\/h3>\n<p>The Windows universal IPP driver may not display the A3 paper size or some HP LaserJet 5200L settings. For a USB connection, remove this queue and install HP UPD PCL 6 or the exact HP LaserJet 5200L Series PCL 5 driver. For a network connection, create a Standard TCP\/IP Port instead of a WSD port.<\/p>\n<h3>A PCL XL error appears or incorrect characters are printed<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Delete the failed job from the print queue.<\/li>\n<li>Install the exact <strong>HP LaserJet 5200L Series PCL 5<\/strong> driver through Windows Update by following the instructions for your system.<\/li>\n<li>Create a separate queue for PCL 5, but assign it the same working USB or TCP\/IP port.<\/li>\n<li>Print the same document from the new queue.<\/li>\n<li>If the program requires PostScript, download the current HP UPD PS version from the HP website and create a separate queue on the same port.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>A3 is missing from the paper size settings<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure that HP Universal Printing PCL 6 or HP LaserJet 5200L Series PCL 5 is being used rather than Microsoft IPP Class Driver.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Printer properties \u2192 Device Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If <strong>Automatic Configuration<\/strong> is available, select <strong>Update Now<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Printing preferences \u2192 Paper\/Quality<\/strong> and check the paper size list.<\/li>\n<li>Select A3 and make sure that the corresponding paper size is loaded in the tray and set correctly on the printer&#8217;s operator panel.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>The model does not appear after clicking \u201cWindows Update\u201d<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Check the computer&#8217;s internet connection.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Windows Update<\/strong> again and wait 5\u201310 minutes. Do not close the wizard even if the list does not appear to change.<\/li>\n<li>If the list is still incomplete, open <strong>Control Panel \u2192 Devices and Printers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Print server properties<\/strong>, select the <strong>Drivers<\/strong> tab and click <strong>Add<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the computer architecture, click <strong>Windows Update<\/strong>, and then select <strong>HP \u2192 HP LaserJet 5200L Series PCL 5<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>After adding the driver, return to the Windows 11 or Windows 10 instructions and create the queue on the correct port.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>An older version of HP Universal Print Driver interferes with installation<\/h3>\n<p>First remove only the unsuccessfully created printer queue. If the error recurs, open <strong>Control Panel \u2192 Devices and Printers \u2192 Print server properties \u2192 Drivers<\/strong> and check the list.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #fffbf0; border-left: 4px solid #ff9800; padding: 14px 16px; margin: 18px 0;\">\n<p><strong>Caution.<\/strong> Do not remove the HP Universal Printing PCL 6 package if it is used by other printers. Check the installed queues first. Removing a shared driver may temporarily stop printing on several devices.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>If the old HP UPD is used only by the non-working HP LaserJet 5200L queue, remove that queue, then select the old package on the \u201cDrivers\u201d tab and click <strong>Remove \u2192 Remove driver and driver package<\/strong>. Restart the computer and reinstall the current package. If Windows reports that the driver is in use, do not force its removal: check the remaining queues and try again after restarting.<\/p>\n<h3>The network printer appears offline<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Press <strong>Win+R<\/strong>, type <strong>cmd<\/strong> and press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the <strong>ping IP address<\/strong> command, substituting the actual address of the Jetdirect card or print server.<\/li>\n<li>If there are no replies, check the address, network cable, power to the Jetdirect adapter or external server, and the router settings.<\/li>\n<li>If there are replies, open <strong>Printer properties \u2192 Ports<\/strong> and make sure that a Standard TCP\/IP Port with the same address is selected.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Configure Port<\/strong> and check that the RAW protocol and port number 9100 are selected.<\/li>\n<li>If printing works but Windows incorrectly shows the \u201cOffline\u201d status, you can clear the <strong>SNMP Status Enabled<\/strong> check box. Do this only after verifying that the IP address is correct.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After successful installation, print not only a Windows test page but also a regular A4 document followed by an A3 page.
