Scanning with this series requires a separate ICA driver. For a network connection, <strong>Network TWAIN<\/strong> must also be enabled, and the application must have access to the local network.<\/p>\n<p>First install the current ICA driver, then test scanning from Image Capture. If scanning is started from the MFP control panel, additional configuration of <strong>PC Scan Mode<\/strong> is required and, in secure mode, the Mac must be registered as a network destination. These methods are described separately because the connection is established in different directions.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #eef6ff; border-left: 5px solid #2271b1; margin: 20px 0; padding: 14px 18px;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 8px;\"><strong>Quick solution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0;\">Install the <code>SCNI_OSX_020000_287548.dmg<\/code> file, open Image Capture and select the OKI device under Devices for a USB connection or Shared for a network connection. If the network scanner is missing, enable <strong>Network TWAIN<\/strong> on the MFP and check port <code>9967<\/code>. If a message about remote PC mode appears, select <strong>SCAN &gt; Remote Scan &gt; TWAIN<\/strong> on the control panel or set <strong>PC Scan Mode &gt; Simple Scan Mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Models This Guide Applies To<\/h2>\n<p>ICA driver version 2.0.0 supports the following models:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OKI MC332dn;<\/li>\n<li>OKI MC342dn and MC342dw;<\/li>\n<li>OKI MC352dn;<\/li>\n<li>OKI MC362dn and MC362w;<\/li>\n<li>OKI MC562dn, MC562w and MC562dw;<\/li>\n<li>OKI ES3452 MFP;<\/li>\n<li>OKI ES5462 MFP and ES5462dw MFP;<\/li>\n<li>OKI MPS2731mc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In macOS windows, the name may be shortened to the model without the letter suffix, for example <strong>OKI MC562<\/strong>. It is used when the Mac connects to the scanner. <code>9968<\/code> is the default network destination port for this series. It is used when a request is sent from the MFP control panel to a registered Mac. Substituting one port number for the other may result in printing and device discovery working while scanning does not start.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Install the Current OKI ICA Driver<\/h2>\n<p>The PostScript print driver and AirPrint queue do not replace the scanner driver. For macOS 10.12\u201326, ICA driver version 2.0.0 is used:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 12px; white-space: pre-wrap; overflow-x: auto;\">SCNI_OSX_020000_287548.dmg<\/pre>\n<p>The file is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oki.com\/eu\/printing\/support\/drivers-and-utilities\/?id=FZ8001-8159&amp;os_lang_replace=&amp;productCategory=colour-multifunction&amp;sku=44952244&amp;tab=drivers-and-utilities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICA Scanner Driver 2.0.0 for OKI MC332, MC362 and MC562<\/a> page. The driver interface is available in English and Japanese.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1. Close Scanning Applications<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Close Image Capture.<\/li>\n<li>Close programs that may be using the scanner: Preview, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, NAPS2 and other scanning applications.<\/li>\n<li>If the MFP is connected by USB, temporarily disconnect the USB cable from the Mac.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Step 2. Install the Driver<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Wait until the <code>SCNI_OSX_020000_287548.dmg<\/code> file has finished downloading completely.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click the downloaded file.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the disk image to mount.<\/li>\n<li>In the window that opens, double-click the <strong>OKI Scanner<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm the installation and enter the macOS administrator password if prompted.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the installation completion message.<\/li>\n<li>Close the disk image window and eject it through Finder.<\/li>\n<li>Restart the Mac. For the first installation, this helps restart the scanner discovery service and the OKI ScannerEventWatcher component.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The current driver version contains components for Macs with Intel processors and Apple silicon. If macOS still displays a system prompt to install Rosetta for an auxiliary component, click <strong>Install<\/strong> and wait for the installation to finish. Do not download Rosetta from third-party websites or use random Terminal commands.<\/p>\n<h3>If macOS Blocks the File from Opening<\/h3>\n<p>Follow these steps only for the file with the name specified above and downloaded from the OKI page.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Try to open <strong>OKI Scanner<\/strong> once and close the warning.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Apple &gt; System Settings &gt; Privacy &amp; Security<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down to the <strong>Security<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n<li>Next to the message about the blocked component, click <strong>Open Anyway<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm the launch with the user password or Touch ID.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Do not disable Gatekeeper completely. If the name of the blocked file does not match the OKI component, cancel the launch and download the driver again.<\/p>\n<h2>Test Scanning from Image Capture<\/h2>\n<p>Perform the first test using the built-in macOS application. If scanning works there but does not work in Photoshop, Acrobat or another program, the driver and connection are working correctly and the problem should be investigated in that program&#8217;s settings.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Turn on the MFP and wait until it reaches the ready state.<\/li>\n<li>For a USB test, connect the cable directly to the Mac. Do not use a hub, monitor or docking station.<\/li>\n<li>Place one sheet face down on the platen glass. Do not use the ADF for the first test.<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>Command-\u041f\u0440\u043e\u0431\u0435\u043b<\/strong>, type <strong>Image Capture<\/strong> and open the application.<\/li>\n<li>Wait up to one minute for the device list to refresh.<\/li>\n<li>For a USB connection, select the OKI model under <strong>Devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>For a network connection, select the OKI model under <strong>Shared<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If a compact window is displayed, click <strong>Show Details<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>For testing, select the flatbed scanner, a resolution of <strong>300 dpi<\/strong>, the <strong>JPEG<\/strong> format and save to the Desktop.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Scan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the file appears on the Desktop, basic scanning is working. You can then select the ADF, PDF, duplex scanning and another destination folder. If the device does not appear or scanning ends with an error, use the appropriate section below.<\/p>\n<h2>If the OKI USB Scanner Is Not Detected<\/h2>\n<h3>Step 1. Check the Physical Connection<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Turn off the MFP.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the USB cable from the Mac and MFP.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the connectors and reconnect the cable.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the device directly to the Mac. Temporarily remove any USB hub, multiport adapter, monitor or docking station from the connection.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the MFP and wait 1\u20132 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>If the device still does not appear, try another USB port and a known-good data cable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Step 2. Check Whether macOS Detects the USB Device Itself<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Hold the <strong>Option<\/strong> key and open the <strong>Apple<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>System Information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the left side of the window, open the <strong>USB<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n<li>Find OKI, the model name or the multifunction device in the USB tree.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>If OKI is missing, the problem is with the cable, adapter, USB port or the MFP&#8217;s interface itself. Reinstalling the driver will not fix a missing physical connection.<\/li>\n<li>If OKI appears under USB but is missing from Image Capture, reinstall the ICA driver and restart the Mac.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 3. Perform a Clean Reinstallation of the ICA Driver<\/h3>\n<p>First try a normal reinstallation of version 2.0.0. Remove the previous component only if reinstalling over it does not help.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Close Image Capture and all other scanning applications.<\/li>\n<li>In Finder, select <strong>Go &gt; Go to Folder<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the path:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 12px; white-space: pre-wrap; overflow-x: auto;\">\/Library\/Image Capture\/Devices\/<\/pre>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Find only the <strong>OKI Scanner.app<\/strong> file.<\/li>\n<li>Move it to the Trash and confirm the action with the administrator password. Do not remove any other items from this folder.<\/li>\n<li>Restart the Mac.<\/li>\n<li>Reinstall <code>SCNI_OSX_020000_287548.dmg<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Restart the Mac again, connect the USB cable and check Image Capture.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>If the Network Scanner Is Missing from Image Capture<\/h2>\n<h3>Step 1. Check Whether the MFP Is Accessible by IP Address<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>On the MFP control panel, press <strong>SETTING<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>View Information &gt; Network &gt; IPv4 Address<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Write down the address, for example <code>192.168.1.40<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>On the Mac, disconnect the VPN during the test.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the MFP&#8217;s IP address in the browser address bar:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 12px; white-space: pre-wrap; overflow-x: auto;\">http:\/\/192.168.1.40<\/pre>\n<p>If the built-in OKI web page opens, the Mac can see the MFP on the network. If the page does not open, first resolve the network problem:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>connect the Mac and MFP to the same local network;<\/li>\n<li>do not use a guest Wi-Fi network where devices are isolated from each other;<\/li>\n<li>check the Ethernet cable or the MFP&#8217;s Wi-Fi connection;<\/li>\n<li>make sure the IP address did not change after the router restarted;<\/li>\n<li>on a work network, confirm that communication is allowed between the VLANs or network segments being used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Working network printing does not prove that network scanning is allowed: printing and Network TWAIN use different services and ports.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2. Enable Network TWAIN and Check Port 9967<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>On the MFP control panel, press <strong>SETTING<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Admin Setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the device administrator password and confirm the sign-in. If the factory password has not been changed, the original configuration for this series uses <code>aaaaaa<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Scanner Setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>TWAIN Setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Network TWAIN<\/strong> and set it to <strong>ON<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Port No.<\/strong> and check that the value is <code>9967<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Save the settings and return to the main screen.<\/li>\n<li>Restart the MFP and open Image Capture again on the Mac.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Do not change port 9967 unless necessary. If an administrator changed it, the same port number must be used in the connection settings and allowed through the network firewall.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3. Allow Local Network Access in macOS 15\u201326<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Apple &gt; System Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Privacy &amp; Security<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Local Network<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Allow access for the displayed OKI Scanner component, ScannerEventWatcher or scanning application if it is present in the list.<\/li>\n<li>Close Image Capture and open it again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the required component is not in the list, first start Image Capture and try to select the network scanner. When the system prompt appears, allow the application to find devices on the local network. In macOS 14 and earlier versions, there may be no separate Local Network section; in that case, skip this step.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4. Repeat Device Discovery<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Quit Image Capture completely using <strong>Image Capture &gt; Quit Image Capture<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the MFP for 30 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Turn the device on and wait until it is fully ready and connected to the network.<\/li>\n<li>Open the MFP&#8217;s IP address in the browser again.<\/li>\n<li>Start Image Capture and wait up to one minute.<\/li>\n<li>Expand <strong>Shared<\/strong> in the sidebar and select OKI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the web page opens on a work network but the scanner cannot connect, ask the administrator to check the outbound connection from the Mac to the MFP&#8217;s IP address on TCP port <code>9967<\/code>. Do not completely disable the Mac or router firewall.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Fix \u201cPlease check that the device is set to remote PC mode\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>The message appears when <strong>Manual Scan Mode<\/strong> or <strong>Secure Scan Mode<\/strong> is selected on the MFP but the device has not been switched to remote scanning mode. The driver is installed, but the MFP rejects the request until the user confirms the mode on the control panel.<\/p>\n<h3>Quick Solution Without Changing Settings<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>On the MFP control panel, press <strong>SCAN<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Remote Scan<\/strong> and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure <strong>TWAIN<\/strong> is selected and press <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Return to the Mac.<\/li>\n<li>In Image Capture, select OKI and click <strong>Scan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Selecting Remote Scan only allows the computer to access the scanner. The file is not transferred until the user clicks <strong>Scan<\/strong> in the application on the Mac.<\/p>\n<h3>If Secure Scan Mode Is Used<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>On the control panel, select <strong>SCAN &gt; Remote Scan &gt; TWAIN<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Select a connecting PC<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>For a network connection, select <strong>From Network<\/strong>, then the registered Mac. For USB, select <strong>From USB<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>MONO<\/strong> or <strong>COLOR<\/strong> to confirm access for the selected computer.<\/li>\n<li>On the Mac, open Image Capture, select OKI and click <strong>Scan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the required Mac is not in the list, register it as a Network Scan Destination using the instructions below. When sending a scan from the MFP over the network, a previously registered computer is also selected.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>In a shared office, do not change Secure Scan Mode to Simple Scan Mode without approval: secure mode prevents remote scanning from being started without someone taking action at the MFP.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Configure Scan To Computer \u2014 Start and Save from the MFP Control Panel<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Scan To Computer<\/strong> and <strong>Remote Scan<\/strong> are different functions. In Remote Scan mode, the user confirms access on the control panel and then clicks Scan on the Mac. In Scan To Computer mode, the job is started by pressing <strong>MONO<\/strong> or <strong>COLOR<\/strong> on the MFP, after which the OKI ScannerEventWatcher component transfers it to the Mac.<\/p>\n<p>For this series, saving to a folder is available on the Mac. In modern versions of macOS, automatic application launch may be restricted by permissions, so before testing, open Image Capture and select the OKI device.<\/p>\n<h3>Scan To Computer with a USB Connection<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect the MFP directly to the Mac via USB.<\/li>\n<li>Open Image Capture and select OKI under <strong>Devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Place the document face up in the ADF or face down on the platen glass.<\/li>\n<li>On the control panel, press <strong>SCAN<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Computer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Scan To Computer<\/strong> or <strong>Scan to connected PC<\/strong>. The name depends on the language and firmware version.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>From USB<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Select Application<\/strong> and select <strong>Folder<\/strong>. For Mac, this is the main supported destination option.<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>MONO<\/strong> or <strong>COLOR<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the job to finish and check the folder configured for saving scans.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If nothing happens after pressing the button, first make sure normal USB scanning works from Image Capture. Then check whether OKI ScannerEventWatcher is allowed to run and whether the OKI component has the required access under Privacy &amp; Security.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1. Register the Mac for Scan To Computer over the Network<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>On the Mac, open <strong>Apple &gt; System Settings &gt; Network<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection and open its details.<\/li>\n<li>Write down the Mac&#8217;s IPv4 address. Do not use the MFP&#8217;s IP address.<\/li>\n<li>On the OKI control panel, press <strong>SETTING<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Network Scan Destination<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select an unused number and press <strong>Register<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Destination<\/strong> field, enter a clear Mac name no longer than 16 characters.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Destination Address<\/strong> field, enter the Mac&#8217;s IPv4 address.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Port No.<\/strong> field, enter <code>9968<\/code>. This is the default network destination port for this series, not Network TWAIN port 9967.<\/li>\n<li>Save the entry.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Step 2. Do not search for an outdated installer on third-party websites: register the Mac address through the <strong>Network Scan Destination<\/strong> menu on the MFP.
