Connect the multifunction printer to the computer<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>\u201cConnect Cable\u201d<\/strong> window will ask you to complete two actions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect the printer and computer using a USB cable.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the printer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Complete the actions in the following order:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect the almost square USB cable connector to the port on the back of the multifunction printer.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the flat cable connector directly to a USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Do not connect the multifunction printer through a USB hub, splitter, or docking station.<\/li>\n<li>Press the power button on the multifunction printer.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that the power indicator lights up.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the program to detect the connected device.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The detection process may take several minutes. If you interrupt the installation at this stage, the driver may not be installed completely.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>If the program does not detect the multifunction printer<\/h2>\n<p>If the <strong>\u201cConnect Cable\u201d<\/strong> window does not close within several minutes, complete the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure that the multifunction printer is turned on.<\/li>\n<li>Check whether an error indicator is flashing on the multifunction printer\u2019s control panel.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that the USB cable is firmly connected at both ends.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the cable from the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Wait approximately 10 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the cable to another USB port on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>If you are using a desktop computer, try a USB port on the back of the computer case.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use a USB hub or extension cable.<\/li>\n<li>If you have another working printer USB cable, try using it to connect the multifunction printer.<\/li>\n<li>After reconnecting the device, wait another few minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the device is still not detected, click <strong>Cancel<\/strong>, disconnect the USB cable, and restart the computer. Complete the installation<\/h2>\n<p>After detecting the multifunction printer, the program will continue registering the printer and scanner drivers.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Do not disconnect the cable or turn off the multifunction printer.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for a message confirming that the installation was completed successfully.<\/li>\n<li>If a <strong>Complete<\/strong> or <strong>Finish<\/strong> button appears, click it.<\/li>\n<li>If the program prompts you to restart the computer, save any open documents and agree to restart it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Step 9. Do not select the regular <strong>Properties<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n<li>On the <strong>General<\/strong> tab, click <strong>Print Test Page<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the test page prints, the printer driver is working correctly.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 11.
