The problem is usually caused by the Wi-Fi settings, a changed IP address, or an incorrectly created network port.<\/p>\n<p>This guide applies to the following models:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Canon PIXMA TS9540;<\/li>\n<li>Canon PIXMA TS9540A;<\/li>\n<li>Canon PIXMA TS9541C;<\/li>\n<li>Canon PIXMA TS9550;<\/li>\n<li>Canon PIXMA TS9550A;<\/li>\n<li>Canon PIXMA TS9551C;<\/li>\n<li>Canon PIXMA TS9551CA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All the models listed above belong to the Canon TS9500 series and use the same network applications and MP Drivers package.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #fffbf0; border-left: 5px solid #ff9800; padding: 20px; margin: 25px 0; border-radius: 4px; box-shadow: 0 1px 3px rgba(0,0,0,0.05);\">\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;\"><strong>First, determine when the problem started<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the printer has never been connected to your network, start with the <strong>Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">If the printer worked previously but now appears to be disconnected, start with the basic checks and network connection diagnostics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Method 1: Perform a Basic Restart<\/h2>\n<p>This method may help if the printer worked previously but suddenly became unavailable.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Turn off the printer using the power button.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Unplug the router from the power outlet.<\/li>\n<li>Wait approximately 30 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Plug the router back into the power outlet.<\/li>\n<li>Wait until the Internet connection is fully restored. This usually takes one to three minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the printer.<\/li>\n<li>Wait approximately one minute.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the computer.<\/li>\n<li>Try printing a document.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the printer is still not detected, continue troubleshooting.<\/p>\n<h2>Method 2: Check the Network on the Computer<\/h2>\n<h3>Step 1: Check the Wi-Fi Network Name<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click the network icon in the lower-right corner of the Windows screen.<\/li>\n<li>Check the name of the network to which the computer is connected.<\/li>\n<li>Remember or write down this name.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The computer and printer must be connected to the same router and the same home or office network.<\/p>\n<p>Do not use a network with any of the following words in its name:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guest;<\/li>\n<li>Public;<\/li>\n<li>Hotspot;<\/li>\n<li>Mobile;<\/li>\n<li>Direct.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A guest network often prevents connected devices from communicating with each other. Internet access may work, but the computer will not detect the printer.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Temporarily Disable the VPN<\/h3>\n<p>If a VPN is being used on the computer:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the VPN application.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Disconnect<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Search for the printer again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can enable the VPN again after setup is complete.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Check the Windows Network Profile<\/h3>\n<h4>Windows 11<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Network &amp; internet<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Wi-Fi<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click the name of the connected network.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Network profile type<\/strong>, select <strong>Private network<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Windows 10<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Network &amp; Internet<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Wi-Fi<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click the name of the connected network.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Private<\/strong> network profile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>On a private network, Windows allows printers and other devices to be discovered.<\/p>\n<h2>Method 3: Check the Printer\u2019s Wi-Fi Connection<\/h2>\n<p>Check the network icon on the printer\u2019s touchscreen.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the Wi-Fi icon appears normally, the printer is connected to the wireless network.<\/li>\n<li>If the icon is crossed out or missing, the connection to the router has been lost.<\/li>\n<li>If the Wireless Direct icon is displayed, the printer may be connected directly to a phone or computer rather than to the home router.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"background-color: #fffbf0; border-left: 5px solid #ff9800; padding: 20px; margin: 25px 0; border-radius: 4px; box-shadow: 0 1px 3px rgba(0,0,0,0.05);\">\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;\"><strong>Wireless Direct and standard Wi-Fi are different connection methods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">For regular printing from several computers and phones, it is recommended that you connect the printer to your home or office router. Wireless Direct should be used only for a temporary direct connection without a router.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Method 4: Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi<\/h2>\n<p>Use this method if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the printer is being installed for the first time;<\/li>\n<li>the router was replaced;<\/li>\n<li>the network name was changed;<\/li>\n<li>the Wi-Fi password was changed;<\/li>\n<li>the printer no longer shows a network connection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 1: Enable Easy Wireless Connect<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Turn on the printer.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the Home screen to appear.<\/li>\n<li>Tap the network icon on the touchscreen.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Wi-Fi<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Tap <strong>Wi-Fi setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Easy wireless connect<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that you want to start the setup.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A message will appear indicating that setup must be completed on a computer or mobile device.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Run the Canon Installer on the Computer<\/h3>\n<p>If the MP Drivers package is not installed yet, download it:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gdlp01.c-wss.com\/gds\/6\/0100009646\/08\/md__-win-ts9500-1_06-ea34_2.exe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Download Canon TS9500 series MP Drivers Ver. 1.06<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>File name:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 12px; white-space: pre-wrap; overflow-x: auto;\">md__-win-ts9500-1_06-ea34_2.exe<\/pre>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <strong>Downloads<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the <strong>md__-win-ts9500-1_06-ea34_2.exe<\/strong> file.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Run as administrator<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If the <strong>User Account Control<\/strong> window appears, click <strong>Yes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Accept the license agreement.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Wi-Fi connection method.<\/li>\n<li>Allow Canon applications to access the network if a firewall notification appears.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the printer to be detected.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Canon TS9500 series<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the name of your home or office Wi-Fi network.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the Wi-Fi password.<\/li>\n<li>Wait while the settings are transferred to the printer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The password is case-sensitive. Do not confuse the number <strong>0<\/strong> with the letter <strong>O<\/strong>, or the number <strong>1<\/strong> with the letters <strong>I<\/strong> and <strong>l<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After the printer connects successfully, the installer will continue installing the printer and scanner drivers.<\/p>\n<h2>If the Router Uses Both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Networks<\/h2>\n<p>Use the <strong>2.4 GHz<\/strong> Wi-Fi network to set up the printer.<\/p>\n<p>On some routers, the networks have different names, for example:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 12px; white-space: pre-wrap; overflow-x: auto;\">Home_WiFi\r\nHome_WiFi_5G<\/pre>\n<p>In this example, select <strong>Home_WiFi<\/strong> for the printer, not <strong>Home_WiFi_5G<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If both frequency bands use the same network name:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Move the printer closer to the router.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat the Easy wireless connect procedure.<\/li>\n<li>If the printer does not connect, temporarily separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks in the router settings.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the printer to the 2.4 GHz network.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The names of the sections in the router settings vary by manufacturer. If you are not sure how to separate the networks, refer to the router\u2019s instructions.<\/p>\n<h2>Method 5: Use Wi-Fi Connection Assistant<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Wi-Fi Connection Assistant<\/strong> checks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>whether the computer is connected to the router;<\/li>\n<li>whether the printer is detected on the network;<\/li>\n<li>whether the Wi-Fi signal strength is sufficient;<\/li>\n<li>whether the printer port matches the current IP address;<\/li>\n<li>whether the network connection can be repaired automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In older Canon guides, this application may be called <strong>IJ Network Device Setup Utility<\/strong>. This is the former name of Canon\u2019s network utility.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Run the Diagnostics<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Turn on the printer.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the computer to your home or office network.<\/li>\n<li>Disable the VPN.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <strong>Start<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>Find the <strong>Canon Utilities<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n<li>Start <strong>Wi-Fi Connection Assistant<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If a <strong>User Account Control<\/strong> prompt appears, click <strong>Yes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the application window, select <strong>Diagnose and Repair<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li>\n<li>If the application offers to repair the network port, confirm the repair.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After the diagnostics are complete, close the application and try printing again.<\/p>\n<h2>If Wi-Fi Connection Assistant Is Not Installed<\/h2>\n<p>Download the latest version of the application from the official Canon support page for your model.<\/p>\n<p>The installation file name may look like this:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Printers &amp; scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Canon TS9500 series<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Open print queue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <strong>Printer<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>If <strong>Use Printer Offline<\/strong> is selected, clear the checkbox.<\/li>\n<li>If <strong>Pause Printing<\/strong> is selected, clear the checkbox.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Windows 10<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Printers &amp; scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Canon TS9500 series<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Open queue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <strong>Printer<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>Clear the <strong>Use Printer Offline<\/strong> and <strong>Pause Printing<\/strong> checkboxes if they are selected.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Method 7: Clear a Stuck Print Queue<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Canon TS9500 series print queue.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click each stuck print job.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Cancel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If the jobs cannot be removed, press <strong>Windows + R<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter:\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find all Canon TS9500 series entries.<\/li>\n<li>Open each entry and check its status.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the device that is shown as ready.<\/li>\n<li>Remove old copies that constantly show the <strong>Offline<\/strong> status.<\/li>\n<li>Select the working printer.<\/li>\n<li>Set it as the default printer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you are not sure which entry works, print a test page from each copy first.<\/p>\n<h2>Method 9: Add the Printer by IP Address<\/h2>\n<p>This method is useful if the printer is connected to the network and visible in Wi-Fi Connection Assistant, but Windows cannot find it automatically.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Find the Printer\u2019s IP Address<\/h3>\n<p>You can view the IP address in Wi-Fi Connection Assistant or print the network information from the printer\u2019s menu.<\/p>\n<p>An IP address usually looks like this:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"background: #f4f4f4; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 12px; white-space: pre-wrap; overflow-x: auto;\">192.168.1.25<\/pre>\n<p>Write down the address. You will need it in the next step.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Add the Printer Manually<\/h3>\n<h4>Windows 11<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Bluetooth &amp; devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Printers &amp; scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Add device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the search to finish.<\/li>\n<li>Next to <strong>The printer that I want isn\u2019t listed<\/strong>, click <strong>Add manually<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add a printer using an IP address or hostname<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Device type<\/strong> field, select <strong>TCP\/IP Device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Hostname or IP address<\/strong> field, enter the printer\u2019s IP address.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>After the printer is detected, select the <strong>Canon TS9500 series<\/strong> driver.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the printer setup.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Windows 10<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Printers &amp; scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Add a printer or scanner<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the search to finish.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>The printer that I want isn\u2019t listed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add a printer using a TCP\/IP address or hostname<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the printer\u2019s IP address.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Canon TS9500 series<\/strong> driver.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the installation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A connection through a standard TCP\/IP port is usually more stable than an automatically created WSD port.<\/p>\n<h2>Method 10: Check Windows Firewall<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <strong>Start<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>Enter <strong>Windows Security<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the application found in the search results.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Firewall &amp; network protection<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Allow an app through firewall<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Change settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find Canon, IJ Network, or Wi-Fi Connection Assistant applications.<\/li>\n<li>Allow them to communicate on private networks.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you use third-party antivirus software with its own firewall, temporarily pause its network protection and search for the printer again. Be sure to enable the protection again after the test.<\/p>\n<h2>After Replacing the Router or Changing the Wi-Fi Password<\/h2>\n<p>The old network settings remain stored in the printer\u2019s memory. Reinstalling only the driver on the computer will not resolve the problem.<\/p>\n<p>You need to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect the printer to the new network using <strong>Easy wireless connect<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Run the MP Drivers installer or Wi-Fi Connection Assistant.<\/li>\n<li>Select the new network name.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the new password.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the connection to be completed successfully.<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, remove the old printer entry from Windows.<\/li>\n<li>Add the device again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>If the Printer Becomes Unavailable Again Periodically<\/h2>\n<p>The router is probably assigning a different IP address to the printer from time to time. Windows continues to use the old address and shows the <strong>Offline<\/strong> status.<\/p>\n<p>For a permanent solution, you can reserve the printer\u2019s IP address in the router settings. This feature may be called:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DHCP Reservation;<\/li>\n<li>Address Reservation;<\/li>\n<li>Static Lease;<\/li>\n<li>IP-MAC Binding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After the address is reserved, the printer will receive the same IP address each time.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not sure how to configure the router, first use the <strong>Diagnose and Repair<\/strong> feature in Wi-Fi Connection Assistant.<\/p>\n<h2>Method 11: Reset Only the Printer\u2019s Network Settings<\/h2>\n<p>Use the reset only after the other methods have failed. After the reset, the printer will forget the network name and Wi-Fi password.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Turn on the printer.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Setup<\/strong> on the touchscreen.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Device settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Reset setting<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the option to reset the LAN or network settings.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm the reset.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the operation to finish.<\/li>\n<li>Reconnect the printer using <strong>Easy wireless connect<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Do not select a complete reset of all settings if you only need to remove the old Wi-Fi settings.<\/p>\n<h2>Using Ethernet Instead of Wi-Fi<\/h2>\n<p>If the wireless connection is unstable, you can connect the printer to the router using an Ethernet network cable.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Turn off the printer.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the Ethernet cable to the network port on the back of the printer.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the other end of the cable to a LAN port on the router.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the printer.<\/li>\n<li>Wait approximately one minute.<\/li>\n<li>Run the MP Drivers installer.<\/li>\n<li>Select a wired LAN connection.<\/li>\n<li>Select the detected Canon TS9500 series printer.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the installation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A wired Ethernet connection and a standard Wi-Fi connection cannot be used at the same time. When you switch to Ethernet, the printer\u2019s wireless connection is disabled.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Check the Result<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Printers &amp; scanners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Canon TS9500 series<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Printer properties<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Print Test Page<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Then test scanning:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <strong>Start<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>Find <strong>IJ Scan Utility<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Start the application.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Canon TS9500 series Network<\/strong> if several devices are available.<\/li>\n<li>Place a document on the scanner glass.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Document<\/strong> or <strong>Auto<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If printing works but IJ Scan Utility cannot detect the scanner, this is a separate network scanning configuration issue.
