The user can choose between two different kinds of installations in Xerox Smart Start.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Quick Install \u2013 Xerox Smart Start will automatically install drivers based on the user\u2019s operating system and printer model. Quick install does not install scan drivers.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Advanced Install \u2013 Xerox Smart Start will allow the user to choose which print system, PDL, and scan driver they want to install. Xerox Smart Start will recommend which options provide the best print experience.<\/p>\n

Important information for owners of modern ARM laptops!<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you use a laptop with Windows 11 on an ARM processor, a regular Xerox driver for Windows 11 x64 may not install or may work incorrectly. This problem occurs especially often when connecting a Xerox printer or MFP with a USB cable. In this case, the cause is usually not the printer or the USB cable, but the fact that Windows 11 ARM64 requires a special ARM64 driver.<\/p>\n

For many Xerox devices, the problem can be solved with the official Xerox Global Print Driver ARM64<\/strong>. This driver is not installed through the usual setup.exe<\/strong> file, but manually through an INF file<\/strong>: x3UNIVX.inf<\/strong> is used for PCL6, and x3UNIVP.inf<\/strong> is used for PostScript. How to Install a Printer with Xerox Smart Start<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Launch XeroxSmartStart.exe \u2013 this requires elevation to an administrator account.
\n2. Agree to the EULA
\n3. Xerox Smart Start will scan for printers
\n4. Select the printer you want to install and choose either Quick Install or Advanced Install.
\na. If you select Quick Install you are done!
\nb. If you select Advanced Install then Xerox Smart Start will present you with a list of options: Print System, Driver PDL, Scanner Driver Options, and Printer Name. Once you have selected the options you want, select Install to start the installation process.
\n5. If Xerox Smart Start did not find the printer you want to install select Don\u2019t See Your Printer.
\na. Enter the printer\u2019s hostname or IP address and select Continue. If Xerox Smart Start detects your printer it will take you to the Advanced Install screen.
\n6. When the installation finishes Xerox Smart Start will display a confirmation screen. You can Install Another Printer or exit by selecting Done. You also have the option to print a test page.<\/p>\n
