It works on Windows 7 as well as Windows 10/11, but it is often provided as a ZIP archive without an installer (.exe). That’s normal: the package contains an .INF driver file that you install using standard Windows tools.

1) Where to Download the Drivers (Official Xerox Pages)

Xerox Global Print Driver (PS and PCL6, x64) — downloads page:
Xerox Global Print Driver — Drivers & Downloads

ColorQube 9201/9202/9203 — Drivers & Downloads (product page):
ColorQube 9201/9202/9203 — Drivers & Downloads

2) Which Driver to Choose: PS or PCL6

On the Xerox page you will typically see two 64-bit options:

UNIV_5.1076.3.0_PS_x64.zip — PostScript (PS) driver

UNIV_5.1076.3.0_PCL6_x64.zip — PCL6 driver

Recommendation for most users: choose PS. It is often more stable for printing PDFs, complex layouts, and documents with fonts.

When PCL6 may be better: if you print mostly from Word/Excel and/or you see issues after installing PS (print jobs hang, unusual job processing, etc.), then try PCL6.

3) Why There Is No .exe in the ZIP (What’s Inside)

These archives do not include an installer because they are driver packages intended for manual installation. You install them using the .INF file:

PS: x3UNIVP.inf (located inside the extracted folder)

PCL6: x3UNIVX.inf (located inside the extracted folder)

4) Before You Start

Download the required archive (PS or PCL6) from the official Xerox page.

Extract the ZIP to a simple folder path without non-Latin characters or extra spaces, for example:

C:\\Xerox\\GPD_PS\\
or
C:\\Xerox\\GPD_PCL6\\

Check how the device is connected:

Network (recommended): you will need the printer’s IP address (you can usually view it on the device panel or print a configuration report).

USB: possible, but less common for this class of device.

5) Installing the Driver on Windows 10 / Windows 11 (Network, via IP and .INF)

This is the most common setup for the ColorQube 9202.

Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.

Click Add device.

If Windows doesn’t find it automatically, choose an option like Add manually / The printer that I want isn’t listed.

Select the option to add a printer using manual settings.

When choosing the port:

Select Create a new port

Port type: Standard TCP/IP Port

Enter the IP address of the ColorQube 9202

When the manufacturer/model list appears, click Have Disk….

Click Browse and select the INF file from the extracted folder:

for PS: x3UNIVP.inf

for PCL6: x3UNIVX.inf

Select the Xerox driver from the list and click Next.

Name the printer (for example, Xerox CQ9202 (PS)) and finish the installation.

Print a test page (recommended to confirm everything works right away).

6) Installing the Driver on Windows 7 (Network, via IP and .INF)

Open Start → Control Panel → Devices and Printers.

Click Add a printer.

Select Add a local printer (even if it’s on the network—you will create a TCP/IP port in the next step).

Select Create a new port → Standard TCP/IP Port, then click Next.

Enter the device IP address and complete the port wizard.

At the driver selection step, click Have Disk… and choose the INF:

for PS: x3UNIVP.inf

for PCL6: x3UNIVX.inf

Finish the installation and print a test page.

7) If the Printer Is Connected via USB

If the device is connected by USB, the typical flow is:

Connect the USB cable and wait for Windows to create the printer (or for a new device to appear).

Open the printers list and find the added printer (even if it is named something like “USB Printing Support” or similar).

Open Printer properties → Advanced tab → New Driver… or Change Driver….

Click Have Disk… and select the INF (PS: x3UNIVP.inf or PCL6: x3UNIVX.inf).

Apply changes and run a test print.

8) What to Do About Scanning If the Scan Driver Link Does Not Work (Not Found)

It’s important to understand: Xerox Global Print Driver is a print-only driver. It does not install a TWAIN/WIA scanner driver.

If the official scan-driver download for ColorQube 9201/9202/9202 fails with a Not Found error, there are two practical ways to use scanning without installing a scan driver on the PC:

Option A: Scan to Folder (Scan to SMB)

Create a folder on the computer for scans and share it on the network.

In the MFP settings (usually via the built-in web interface), specify the folder path, username, and password.

Then start scanning from the device control panel and the files will appear in the selected folder.

Option B: Scan to Email

Configure email sending (SMTP) on the MFP.

From the device panel, choose Scan to Email, enter the recipient address, and receive the scan by email (typically as a PDF).

If you still want to try installing a TWAIN/WIA scan driver, use only the official Xerox page below:

TWAIN/WIA Scan Driver Installer (Xerox):
TWAIN/WIA Scan Driver Installer — Download

9) Quick Checklist

Need stable printing (including PDFs) — install PS (UNIV_5.1076.3.0_PS_x64.zip → x3UNIVP.inf).

If PS is problematic — try PCL6 (UNIV_5.1076.3.0_PCL6_x64.zip → x3UNIVX.inf).

No .exe in the ZIP — that’s normal: install via Have Disk… and the INF file.

Scanning without a working scan driver — use Scan to Folder (SMB) or Scan to Email.

FacebookTwitterLinkedInPinterest

For the Xerox ColorQube 9202, the most common solution is the universal print driver Xerox Global Print Driver (GPD).
